its almost like there aren't that many people in the world who can limit the best hitters to few hits three times in a day -

Holy crap! -
Of all the things to criticize...

Just to clarify, I don't think Brady should have been suspended but I also didn't buy the first judges reasoning.

QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 11:24 AM) Ellaria makes no sense. In the show, she is introduced as Oberyn's lover. They are not married. She isn't a Martell. In a show where name and claims matter so much, Ellaria having the access she has to Doran makes no sense. Second, there's no nuance to any of the actions in Dorne. Ellaria and the Sand Snakes have only been given one emotion and that's revenge. They don't have a logical plan other than WAR AND VENGENCE AND POISON!! Third, last season's Jaime and Bronn bromance adventure led to Bronn and Jaime infiltrating Dorne, by themselves, and getting access to Myrcella and Trystane. Finally, Ellaria (again, who has no claim to royalty in Dorne) is not even punished for attempting to kill Myrcella in the first place. Instead, she gets unfettered access to Doran. None of this logically makes sense. I agree that the Dorne plot in the books has way too much fat, but a lot of the above is solved if instead of Ellaria as the agitator, the opposition to Doran comes from his daughter. Or a lot of the above is solved if we find out that Doran is playing a long game against the Lannisters. None of the above makes any sense logistically in this world... I agree with all of this. Dorne seems to be an inconvenience to the showwriters and they countered that with too much convenience in its plot. -
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 08:54 AM) How hard is it to install a toilet? I dont feel like paying someone. Just make sure to check for water every day after flushes for a few weeks. Worst thing that usually happens is it sitting uneven on the rubber seal and water leaking out. That's like, 85% of the work.

QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 11:29 AM) The good news is we have Sale vs. Dickey tomorrow. Right, he didn't want to watch that slaughter and I (at the time) did not want to watch EJ vs Stro -
I basically gave up this year that I could catch up in my hockey knowledge to have anything interesting to say here. But, I have been incredibly nervous this series having went to Missouri. Nothing is more satisfying than seeing that group shut the hell up after the hawks once again move past them. Aside from it sucking if the hawks exit the playoffs, it is doubly sucky for me if they are out at the hands of the blues.

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 11:04 AM) They watched Jaime's ship sail away from the docks in Dorne. Then they got on a faster ship, caught up right when they got to King's Landing, and secretly boarded Jaime's ship. Then they killed the Lannister guards on board (I'm sure Nymeria was especially helpful because whips are really effective weapons in cramped, indoor spaces) and gleefully killed their cousin. Next episode they'll be back in Dorne. I give the show a lot of credit for how good its editing is considering the expansiveness of the plot, but, yeah, that was pretty bad. -
QUOTE (shysocks @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 10:53 AM) Yeah I thought the Good Version of Melky would have been the ideal #2, just as I did when we signed him. But you'd have to be insane to want to mess with him right now. Melky seems to be super zoned in run-scoring opportunities. Luckily he's had plenty the last week.

Ha, I do have zero clue how they ended up on the ship and the establishing shot was so quick I did not evern really understand what was going on. Why would he even still be on the ship? -
Truly terrible modern NBA coach. He had a bad roster, and made sure it was as bad as possible. Some coaches do deserve second chances due to crappy roster, but Scott is just done.
-
Not shocked by that. The original ruling was hilarious but it made no sense.

QUOTE (shysocks @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 09:14 AM) I'm personally starting to relax a little more when Duke is pitching, and I think Robin deserves credit for how he has brought Duke along. He started in a LOOGY role until Robin decided he could be trusted for more, and the trust has been well place so far. In his last five appearances covering 5.1 innings, he has 3 hits, 1 walk, and 5 strikeouts. And if I remember right, two of the hits were a swinging bunt by DeShields and a jamshot into shallow left by Beltre. He's more reliable right now than he's getting credit for. This team is not going to have the luxury of only pitching bullpen players when the game is out of hand. We are going to be in close games, so we need to be able to trust everyone, and sometimes they'll fail but we'll be better for it. I haven't had a problem with bullpen management with Robin. The only thing I don't like is Rollins/Saladino at #2, but melky behind Frazier has been pretty great. That and the sending people to steal with Abreu up.

They've certainly been meme-y about delegate math and fairness, but the detbates have been a question about history of legislation and the battle between idealism and pragmatism. Which is better than an intellectual battle of idealism vs. nihilism.
-
For instance, has there been one debate to address the absolutely insane tax plans of the republican candidates? There's been plenty of dem pushback on the growth rate claims of Bernie Sanders.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 08:47 AM) Kasich's problem is that he is too smart and moderate for this election. He can't get any traction because he doesn't speak in meme's, which have become the standard currency for this election cycle. It is amazing how short of an information span that people have gotten down to now. It used to be that people listened to hours of entire speeches to get an impression of a candidate. Now if it doesn't fit on a cute picture, America doesn't have time for it. So we get Bernie, Hillary, Trump, and Cruz as a final four. This country is getting the hot mess it deserves. Maybe one of these days it will put more effort into the Presidential election than it does fan fiction for its favorite show. I know you are of a different political persuasion. But I think having watched the Dem debates seen them go into the minutae of specific bills, and go into detailed policy debates to find the edge for candidates, I just think it's absurd to be like "All people care about is sound bytes, therefore Hillary, Bernie, Trumpa nd Cruz". The dem debate has not been about sound bites. It has been about policy and who can push the most progressive, and what is too progressive. It has not been an angry temper tantrum to decide which strong man will go to congress and call them idiots and then the country is saved! Basically, this primary season has been polar opposite, so I don't understand the "#bothsides" of it.

Was going to go to the bar to watch Sale v Stroman with my Jays friend. But, after the switch we decided to wait for another game. -
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 09:36 AM) I just love Hawk's emotion. As I have stated before, he does give it to the umpires too much, but he is great especially with wins. Yes, he doesn't see as well as he used to, but if I am smart enough to know he didn't see something correctly, I am also smart enough to really not need someone telling me a ball is hit to the shortstop when I can see it on the screen. I like Jason. I think he is fine and will be fine, but his is a different type of broadcast. People hate Joe Buck. I like Joe Buck. His is a "professional" broadcast. IMO, they call baseball games very much the same. He is very Joe Buck. Even the 'big moments" with Hawk just haven't been packing the punch for me lately. You can tell it's a physical restraint too. The HR calls take so long to get into, and you can feel him using his like whole body to get the Yes out. I am ready for the change, but loved Hawk for many years. He gave us thing that fans from out of town knew about regarding the Sox. But what I'm listening to now just is not the same. A home run is hit and 4 seconds after it hits the crowd he's revving up for it.

I think best case and most realistic scenario for the bears involves 3 QBs, RB, and 2 OTs taken in top ten. But, if lynch does not go top ten perhaps bears become the pivot point to trade down for others to grab him.

So - are we moving to a place where Dorn allies with Tyrell to battle the Lannisters? Anxious to hear what House Tyrell has been doing since they threw the Queen into jail. -
This is going to be a fun draft. Really unsettled starting at pick 3. I wonder if we will hear of a deal being done with Rams and a QB before the pick or if we will have no idea who is first.

QUOTE (oldsox @ Apr 24, 2016 -> 08:49 PM) Binetti spends too much time trying to be cute. Just call the game. Why does he keep talking to Stone about the heater in the booth? Not funny. Just call the game and let it come to you. Yeah! He should be talking about each players golf game like a real announcer!
