  1. I actually believed this, that the cubs tanking hurt the sox due to the lack of baseball interest in town. But last year proved me wrong, cubs were good, sox were bad - it was like the sox didn't exist.

Oh my gosh this miss universe thing is so embarrassing.
  3. .640 OPS sounds exactly right.
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 20, 2015 -> 02:48 PM) Is the argument that there really is no Coors effect? If it is, that is beyond silly. It isn't just that balls carry farther, there is a lot more room for balls to drop. No, it's not the point. The point is it's not like these players are in the KBO where we have no idea how they will perform outside of coors. You don't need to go just by their away splits just because of Coors. But the constant "is he good or is he coors?" debate that has continued for 15 years now is a) boring and b) not a huge difference. Not that .050 OPS is minuscule, but it's not like teams would think they are getting a .950 ops player and getting a .750 ops player. Also - Holliday has virtually the same ops from 2008 and 2009 and I'm not sure if Balta knows but Cuddyer played in Minnesota prior. Have we not had enough talk about how they'll hit better in us cellular field to see how marginal these gains are?
  5. That should have been offensive PI. Clear blocking prior to pass
  6. Predictable outcomes for $500 Alex
  7. Another game, another easy drive for a TD. Another game of horrible mental penalties.
  8. Soft underbelly of the Chicago bears
  9. I honestly don't care about home road splits. In our best example, with coors, we always hear about the coors effect. While there is number inflation, has anyone been overvalued by coors? Holliday had a great career from coors, Tulo was great, cuddyer, fowler... It's thrown around like this huge insight, but it seems pretty meaningless.

I was going to complain about cleaning up dead mice but yours is worse
  11. Power hitters tend to hit extra base hits as well. Are you familiar with the term "power" in respect to baseball?
  12. They were last in home runs last year. They needed 3 hits in a row to score one run. Pretty clear why people want a power upgrade.
  13. I think cardinals grab Gordon first.

I really hope rei is not related to Luke or leia. Just let her be an anomaly. That the force is some hereditary gene would be lame as hell. Grow the world.
  15. It's really hard watching your basketball program disintegrate so quickly before your eyes.

But seriously, R2D2 suddenly waking up to show the other bit of the map? That screamed "oh s*** ... How do we end this?"

I had great fun. It looked beautiful. But aside from Steves complaints... That last 15 minutes was some serious crap writing. I hated the daytime soap style cliff hanger, I'd rather they never got to Luke. The perspective added of storm troopers not being faceless henchmen added a lot, but Abrams with two franchises now has added basically zero to the world building of the franchise. We saw x number of planets and none are presented in a way that adds any interest in how this galaxy works. It's just scenery. I hope that changes in the next few. Overall, I just can't stand how they took so many easy outs on the script.
  18. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 19, 2015 -> 01:53 PM) Where would they play Murphy? Wright at 3B, Cabrera at SS, and Walker at 2B. Aren't teams going to try to hide Murphy in the OF?
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 19, 2015 -> 01:20 PM) Still think he ends up with Angels The mets were so sure he was going to be too expensive,at what point do they call in
  20. Listening to both Hahn interviews now. One thing I kind of want to know is do GMs just call around and see in general what prospects other teams like of theirs to call in for three team deals. That piece on the Dodgers saying they could get Frazier was so interesting, I wonder if we call them to bring them in or are just talking to them about their players and it comes up.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 19, 2015 -> 12:57 PM) For comparisons sake, this guy is in the same year of arbitration as Jones, and underwent TJ surgery in May, so he is out part of this coming year. Jon Heyman Verified account ‏@JonHeymanCBS Adam Ottavino and rockies agree on $10.4M, 3-yr extension. Straight deal, no options. All Bases Covered agency did deal. Nice find ss2k5
  22. Looking like Bulls would not be a great fit as Lawson definitely wants to be moved to a place where he can start. I wonder if NYK will bite?
  23. I wonder if Sox were in on him at all. I'm guessing lots were interested but he may have wanted a place where he saw the rotation fit.
  24. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Dec 18, 2015 -> 03:01 PM) Pitching also seems to be the most inflated asset at the deadline. Unless it's a white sox pitcher.
