LOL Brooklyn just beat the heat in an exciting game and started celebrating. Losers. Don't they know it means nothing.

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Mar 12, 2014 -> 09:48 PM) Chiefs have a pretty good coach. Sorry, I meant to imply that the Browns have a similar situation to what the Chiefs had pre-Reid. They just have completely inept coaching and a crap QB. They may not have as good of a defense, but Gordon is as dynamic as Charles, and RBs should be easy to fill up.
-
My friend is a huge Browns fan and I seriously feel so terrible for him. Is there a team more comparable to the KC Chiefs? They have everything but good coaching and a good QB and they have done nothing to correct that.

Old Man Weeden will serve as the wise sage backup to Cutler.
-
That McCown deal isn't that crazy is it? QBs just make a ton of money. Unless you are Kaepernick or Wilson on your rookie deal, you are making some fine money.

Re: MD Jennings, I think it is reassuring to think that we basically needed 2 deep at every position this year, so not every signing is going to be a starter.
-
gulp. edit: Was MD Jennings from Jacksonville with Mel Tucker? edit: No, don't know who I was thinking of.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Mar 12, 2014 -> 06:02 PM) Are any of the Bears' offensive starters not under contract for next year? I think Garza was only one and he was re-signed. You just have your depth to re-sign.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 12, 2014 -> 05:48 PM) I hate Jared Allen. I also want Jared Allen. FWIW Michael C Wright said chances were slim.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 12, 2014 -> 01:39 PM) Idiot. Byrd is a nice guy to have in CF, but he's not worth that type of contract. I also have no idea how they'll have money to resign Graham next year though. Guess the Bills will just have to sign him and give a big middle finger to New Orleans. I would say they will find a way to give graham some weirdly large contract that nobody thinks could work but works because the NFL salary cap is insane.
-
I'm a bit surprised the Pats have yet to go for it considering the age of Brady and the coach. They keep playing value but at some point your QB will be gone.
-
Amazed Broncos have Ward and Talib signed. How do they have that money? Also, sorry site about Byrd.
-
It's amazing, last year vet defensive players couldn't smell a contract. All of them that signed 1 year deals and didn't get injured definitely are getting paid this year. Poor DJ Williams.
-
I wonder if Cornelius Washington has progressed at all.
-
Yeah, from Michael C Wright looks like we will have big interest in Melton, whom is only getting feelers from the cap screwed Cowboys. I'd feel a lot better about Draft Pick - Ratliff - Melton - Houston... But the main issue is that is still a 1-deep Dline.

QUOTE (scs787 @ Mar 11, 2014 -> 05:25 PM) I kinda like Houston, he doesn't add much to the pass rush, but he still adds an element this team could really use, and that's a guy that can stuff the run. Gotta get a solid pass rusher on the other side of the line and on the interior. Ideally that would mean something like Melton and Ealy or maybe they bring in a vet like Allen or even re-sign Peppers and paid them with Aaron Donald. If we let go Peppers I'm guessing there would not be an amicable reunion.
-
We also seemed to get everyone we targeted last year (and all these mid-level vets were getting next to no money). I don't want to pay big money for the 4th best FA DE.
-
Feeling less good to start FA than I felt last year around this time.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 11, 2014 -> 04:12 PM) If nothing else, it's good to see that teams can still hate each other in the NBA. Celts Lakers hated each other in 09-10

QUOTE (Knuckles @ Mar 11, 2014 -> 03:10 PM) So Washington post is reporting the passenger cellphones are still ringing. Does that even mean anything?

While I agree it's harsh, I think it negatively adds into the Hockey lore that these players should be playing with dangerous injuries because #hockeytough. I'm amazed at these players dedication and what they'll play through, but I don't think it will be cool to see them die on the ice because a broken rib punctures their lungs or artery or something.

When they got blown out by the Milwaukee Bucks I knew it was over. Usually even team full of retreads gets unusually hot for 3 games out of 34...not these dudes.
-
QUOTE (scs787 @ Mar 11, 2014 -> 03:15 AM) How much you think he'll get now a days? If the Bears strike out on all the top tier DEs I'd rather sign him than a top tier safety. EDIT- man he's still only 28??? Feel like he was in his 30's. Ha, same. I thought he was on last legs and off an injury. He'll get paid. I too would prefer paying for CBs but on the other hand FA big money CBs have bombed horribly.

Thoughts on a Revis Flyer?

I think Bennett played it pretty perfectly. Around the Super Bowl, a lot of the chatter was that he'd definitely re-sign. He made it very clear that he'd test the market, but gave his team a fair shot and got a deal he liked at home.
