  1. With Robert mysteriously dying I feel like laureano to Sox more likely
  2. oakland loves yankee prospects despite always being the one group that never pans out for them.
  3. Man the guy did a rehab assignment, comes up and still is out? This sucks.
  4. I'm on the flip side here, I'm glad they tried to trade for ohtani. The angels did not trade ohtani, and that sucks. But the sox were 'sposeda use the benefit of having a young, cost-controlled core to allow big game hunting. Instead they splurged comfortably on depth and bullpen and are still starving for more depth and bullpen.
  5. I think it's worse than that. I think sox start at "what are we willing to give up this offseason/deadline", then just shop that around until they find a match. Whatever this aggressive package was...I'm sure it will be the seeds of the next deal for a guy 50% as good.
  6. lori will offer him soldier field this time thou.

Ryan Burrows, 17 y.o., first year in DSL .300/.423/.458 with 3 homers. 17% k rate, .158 iso (yeah I did the math). Both really nice for a 17 year old.

Ryan Burrowes 3-4 again. Hubba hubba @oldsox
  9. if the sox ever blow past $100 million for a player it will absolutely be for one that is a DH.
  10. They should try again in the offseason. I been on this train for years.
  11. All of his writing on him has been extremely positive. He has been the only one to really promote his defense, everyone else is still relying on body type to guess he'll slide. But it was why I was surprised with how positive the writing has been that he was gonna be so dismissive to the idea he's top 100. Then again, Colson's july was tremendous, and Greensox was pointing to 7/3. A month, especially in higher competition, can actually matter.
  12. $36 million
  13. jesus if we get chafin how much money is in the bullpen for next year?
  14. it would be cool if baseball allowed player leasing. Unlike a full trade, all players could veto it. But a team could get a .5 year lease of Ohtani in exchange for prospects, and have him back next year.
  15. Dipoto had the kind of growth in his position that I hoped Hahn would have.
  16. good arms for the brewers ace factory. My opinion is they may have not traded at the peak of value, but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't trade him at the peak of his performance.
  17. That would be nice, I did not include any orioles and they have had such a great outfield this year. He'd be a great fit offensively, and defensively, since we don't care about defense.
  18. I remember when sox fans were sure that any "athlete" drafted was a bad idea and any high schooler would fail on the sox because the 3 they drafted over a decade failed. Now Colson Montgomery is our first home grown top 50 prospect since seemingly forever (we have had prospects we've selected in top 5 that were immediately top 50 guys, but few that grew into that position, and you can include Robert but he did cost $60 million and had extensive experience in a pro league). The problem isn't that hitters explode on the sox. It's that the sox are bad at scouting, and continuously get excited that a previously great hitter is suddenly in their price range. And then it turns out its because they were showing signs of decline, which scared other teams, but sox have terrible scouting so we then say "oh no, don't get this good player, they'll be bad on our team" when they are still younger and more expensive. Basically - these are all the reasons why I'm certain we'll end up with JD Martinez or Nelson Cruz.
  19. Wasn’t Law asked a few weeks ago if Colson would make his prospects list and he dismissively said “in a word, no”
  20. If I were to channel the white Sox ethos it to me points to JD Martinez, Matt Moore, Quintana.
  21. Not sure there are two tanners allowed in an org.
  22. Removed @Chicago White SoxS reply because when placed next to each other you can see how caulfield is arguing against himself.
  23. https://theathletic.com/3465963/2022/07/31/mlb-trade-deadline-latest-padres-cubs-nationals/?source=user_shared_article rosenthals latest. Every potential playoff team mentioned except white Sox, who are irrelevant.
