New Banner Idea!
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 02:18 AM) Would you not be mad if you got traded from the team that won the World Series after you were gone? Also, I do believe he requested to get traded if the Sox didnt offer him a bigger contract or something along those line? i would be mad, yes, but, it seems a rather condemning title

Foods you can't stomach
i love food, but i've always hated the fact that i can't stand cheesecake, and even riccota cheese doesn't agree with me... i used to have problems with mushrooms, and while i can't handle em raw, i've been able to enjoy them cooked.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 11:00 PM) I'm on Metro's mailing list. Whenever shows don't sell out, they give the tix away to people on that list. Shhhh, don't tell anyone. Sadly, neither of the two Dino shows sold out. Bad news for them , great news for me. i hate when the metro is sold out, i always get pushed back... i'm not very confrontational

I was very wrong
QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 11:41 PM) I felt and wrote after the Thome signing that in a typical Sox move they were going to sign 35-year old + injury @ 7.2 mil *instead of* 29-year old + All-Star + Division MVP @ $12-$15 mil. I thought the chances were slimer than none that Konerko would be a Sox player in 2006. I am happy to admit I was verrrrrrry wrong. i thought of you when i saw the signing and i thought you'd be very happy

Updated Payroll
QUOTE(bumptious96 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 09:37 PM) when you think about it. our payroll has risen by at least $20 million over the past two seasons. 2003 was around $65. now its close to $90. that has to be one of the biggest increases in baseball over the past two seasons. i guess reinsdorf wasn't lying when he said if we come he'll pay...but i think it was a two way street, cause he paid, we came, he paid

QUOTE(The Critic @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 06:15 PM) TMBG is NOT bad music. Funny, clever lyrics, occasional big guitar chords......and accordians...... exactly, i'm not sure why someone would think them a guilty pleasure

QUOTE(The Critic @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 06:04 PM) Wow. $28.50 for a little over an hour? Not a great value, no matter how good they are. And they ARE very good, but still... Glad you had fun, though, and enjoy the second hour if you go tonight. IT WAS 30$!?!? wasn't Feel the Pain on the radio?

Political News: 11/27-12/3
QUOTE(Soxy @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 05:31 AM) This may not foster much discussion--but how much "discussion" was really going on before? To quote a favorite movie, "Talking constantly isn't communicating." Neither is the yelling, snarking and generaly asshattery that was going on before. I say give this new format a chance and if people can be civil to each other maybe we can revisit this later. But right now we don't need a million threads all with people posting the same s*** rhetoric (and, to quote my dearest Joni, I'm referring to "both sides now") without actually listening to other people. but we enjoyed it!

QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 12:34 AM) Maybe it was Sinister that I was thinking of. I don't remember. Like I said, I'm a more casual fan - but I remember them being too much one way or the other. They just aren't super consistent. i suppose...i have to admire how much material they put out right after being formed... interpol should be JEEAAAALLLLOOOUUUSSS

QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Nov 29, 2005 -> 07:35 PM) I can go either way for B&S. In one sense, they make important and beautiful music. But they can be an incredible bore as often as they can captivate. So sometimes I have a hard time picking them up. Because even though I'd love to find another Tigermilk, I dread finding another "Arab Strap." i love arab strap! i really liked it, i mean, i can't listen to more than one B&S record in a row, but i love if yer feeling sinister, DCW, tiger milk, all the EPs, i mean, this is just a modern rock song is soooo beautiful...this new album is a lot more guitar driven than waittress, which they used quite a bit of instruments
