QUOTE(Capn12 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 06:22 AM) "Extraordinary Machine"?? Ya I 'acquired' that one a while back, listened to it a few times and apparently forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder. I live the title track on the CD. Thursday night, Foo Fighters concert in Atlanta yeah, i held on getting it because i still kept hearing all this crap about how it wasn't the real leak...but i was recently told that it officially was the leak.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 04:44 AM) And your point is? The President can do anything necessary to run this country from anywhere. The Oval Office does not give him special powers that he can't use elsewhere. Look, any time we have a major catastrophe there are going to be situations that can be handled differently. Sure mistakes were made, communications broke down, etc. I would be shocked if that were NOT the case. I just think it is a major crock to be politicking all of this. Why does the blame game have to start now? Someone mentioned because there could be another catastrophe next week? If you don't think that behind the scenes heads aren't rolling and they aren't already working on what went wrong, you are naive. I just don't see the purpose or need for a partison roast through the media. Sometimes, things need to be worked out behind closed doors rather than for all to see and critique. Unfortunately, this country has to blame someone and it all starts with the media. All the media does is turn things into a bigger circus. We have just witnessed the single biggest catastrophe in American history. It has basically wiped out a whole coastline. The magnaminity of this is almost beyond comprehension. No matter what the role of government is, and how many "fire drills" are done to have a plan ready, something of this enormity is bound to be a clusterf***. If we don't call for action, it may not change...i see no problem with the fury of complaints, if this fury was all placed for terry schiavo, they took notice, when its to question the federal procedures for major catastrophes , we should be quiet? Give me a break.
  3. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 04:04 AM) With this win the Sox move to 41.5 games ahead of the Royals. they can do it!
  4. ahhh...its amazing how different it feels to have won 6 in a row, compared to having LOST six in a row

  8. QUOTE(ceffa2000 @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 11:20 PM) Oh, how the trade winds blow. (Not referring to the sub-forum of the same name) Should we start a sub-forum on all the bandwagon jumping on/off journalists? Maybe Mike Morrisey should moderate. if there is one nice thing about being in missouri, its missing 'sox coverage' by 'respected journalists' marriotti and couch...

I'm really in love with the new animal collective - feels...if it wasn't for Illinoise it would be my album of the year..
  10. i have a hard time believing this statement that genetics is proving how vastly different a humans genome is from other similar animals when the human genome project just lowered the amount of genes specific to a humans body to 20000, when some plants have specific genes of 40000...
  11. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 09:33 PM) Exactly. And how can you not get excited about a sweep and extending the lead to 9.5? seriously, by the same token if we lost should we not have been upset???

QUOTE(The Critic @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 09:00 PM) She likes SOME metal and almost no punk, and she likes a lot of "Mix 101.9 music". I get THAT LOOK when I play most of my stuff . And yeah, I've been recharging via the PC until I get a charger for it. Thanks for the tip on that icon not leaving, although the icon did drop off a couple times before. That's been the frustration so far - seems like nothing is consistent with it. I guess I just have to learn more about the damn thing, which I'm not really looking forward to.... personally i think you should call apple, they are pretty good with customer service, but make shure all your music is backed up first cause they may erase all the stuff on it..
  13. they deserve a labor day off...
  14. 2-0 in the eighth? is that right?
  15. boo close games... i'm only getting updates...but bonderman really has turned out to be a good pitcher...isn't he only like 22 or something? I mean he had to learn how to pitch in the big leagues...it's pretty cool he kept his head held high

QUOTE(The Critic @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 08:21 PM) Update: After f***ing around with it a little, I was able to restore my wife's playlist and the thing seems stable. Still not sure why the "do not disconnect" icon stayed up so long during the battery charge. I had to click on the "safely remove hardware" icon to remove the USB cable, then get out of the iTunes player and then do it all over again. I'll definitely keep an eye on it - I guess it's a good thing I got the extended 3-year plan. And thanks for the tip, bmags - I was able to get all of my "bad" songs ( my ugly punk & metal stuff ) off of her playlist. She will be VERY grateful to you.... your wife doesnt' like punk? are you recharging through your USB on your computer? Because then, at least with mine, it always has the do not disconnect sign until i eject it...and if it doesn't eject it...if the computer says its not in there but it still has that screen for a while...just hold the menu button and the center white button until looks like it shuts off but really just resets...

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 08:03 PM) I've been thinking about getting an i Pod, cuz my wife loves hers. She has the one that holds like 24,000 songs. We buy CD's, burn them onto her laptop and from the laptop onto her i Pod. Basically most of our CD collection is on that one piece of equipment. My only complaint is that it has pre set sound settings, so you can't play with the EQ and adjust bass and highs. Maybe we just haven't figured out how. EQ is in settings...theres also some program that puts the correct EQ for each song based on genre or something...i haven't found it yet...
  18. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 08:00 PM) PAULIE GOES DEEP!!!!!!!!!!!! 2-0 sweeeet hows garland looking

QUOTE(The Critic @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 07:59 PM) I'll try that, if the damn thing ever gets done re-charging the battery. Two hours and counting right now on that simple task. now i'm starting to think you got a lemon...my 20 gig takes only 4 to completely charge up
  20. please update me...i'm in mizzourah, and its more fun getting updates here then on damn yahoo or somethin

QUOTE(The Critic @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 07:52 PM) Yeah unless they came out with new versions in the last 2 days. Like I said, I just got this thing for the Mrs. Even before the freeze, I didn't like it anyway. Not very user-friendly, IMO, and I like to change my songs up more frequently, so I just go with my trusty CD/MP3 player and burned mp3 discs. to take individual songs off you just take it off of auto update, and go into the ipod on the computer and press clear...its not that difficult
  22. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 01:38 AM) Brady Quinn looks really, really, really good. i'm sorry, what'd you say...i was too busy staring at melinda
  23. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 01:36 AM) I know its a Saturday night, but one of the beet games the Sox have played, and the thread is 5 pages. Sad..................... i was fairly sure it was because most were in the chat...in fact i'm pretty darn sure thats the reason.
  24. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 01:40 AM) TWINS WIN!!! BOONE THROWS ONE AWAY ON THE FIRST BUNT, AND THEN HOWRY THROWS IT AWAY ON THE SECOND BUNT!!! 20!!!!!!!!
  25. QUOTE(danman31 @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 12:03 AM) Wolfe is a f***ing prick though. I was watching the game and then started flipping once Michigan got the first TD. I come back to see the Big House dead silent as NIU lines up for an extra point. I see the NIU bench all stoked and I see Wolfe putting his finger to his mouth as if to quiet the crowd. Last time I had looked I figured it was 7-3 so I figured NIU had to be winning. They finally show the score and it's 14-10 Michigan. Wolfe was telling the crowd to be quiet and they were losing? What a dumbass. Hopefully Northwestern f***s up NIU next weekend. lighten up...this is the kids big showcase and he had a 73 yard run for a touchdown against the number 4 team in the country...he had a right to be excited....
