I've heard the new Sigur Ros album Takk
i think takk is a norwegian phrase for thanks...i could be wrong... their lyrics are nothing more then another instrument as far as i'm concerned.

Novak curses, storms off of CNN
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 09:46 PM) Robert "Douchebag of Liberty" Novak seems to have completely melted down on CNN today during an interview on Inside Politics. Here is the video. During a friendly exchange with James Carville (Carville laughing) The host followed up with this as a post script. Presumably, Mr. Novak was once again "seething at the lack of fresh puppy blood in his mini-fridge." as old as i am i still get shocked when adults use the word bulls***

I've heard the new Sigur Ros album Takk
QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 08:29 PM) I've had live bootlegs for the last three weeks, and this is probably their worst album judging on half the songs. Von was better than this. But then again Von had Hún Jörð, which is fabulous. Edit: I'll probably give a listen to Göng and Glosloli because they're on the upcoming single. I'll wait until 9/12 to hear the rest of it. Until then, my OiNK ratio is gonna go through the f***ing roof. while milano is too long there is no f'n way that, NO F'n way that von is better than this...gong and glosoli are great and the live bootlegs were fantastic. in my opinion its aguetis byrjun > takk > () >>> von

Whats Your Favorite Artist or Band
QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 03:35 PM) Dave Matthews Band is my favorite. However, they are nowhere near as good as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and the Stones, Bob Dylan, and Hendrix. Hell you can't even classify Dave Matthews Band's music, sometimes it's jazz, sometimes its rock, it just shifts from who's instrument is most prominent. classified as : lifestyle music

Bush to announce SC nominee tonight at 8pm
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 05:48 AM) I don't think they'll have a leg to stand on if they try to oppose him. Oh sure they'll grill him with questions and rightfully so but this is not going to be a tough fight IMHO. no this was a reasonable choice...i think he'll pass pretty standardly... honestly this was not the choice i was expecting and i'm somwhat pleased.

How was Intonation (<sp?) this past weekend?
i'll be in minnesota.. as weird as it sounds there were more bands at intonation with a better value that i wanted to see live then at lolla i may be wrong but all i was looking forward to see there was the pixies (though i would go to see them anywhere, 60 bucks for just them is too steep for me) the arcade fire wilco help me out...but those are the headliners for me.

How was Intonation (<sp?) this past weekend?
QUOTE(bmags @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 09:48 PM) yes... I only went saturday but had just an absolute blast. Pitchfork put on a hell of a festival, it was cost effective, they had plenty of shade, places to fill your water bottle, reasonable priced food. Pelican was alright, they get a tad boring. The ms were background music for me, we were looking through records during that time. AC Newman was rather entertaining, he writes nice pop songs, i'm gonna check him out. He brought up andrew bird up on stage for his famous whistling and that was cool... magnolia electric company i didn't really like at all. Four Tet had some cool beats but didn't hold much of my attention...after all, i needed to get a good seat for broken social scene... broken social scene was just absolutely awesome. They played emi dreams of pavement, a new song i'd heard about, which was godly, and played everything i wanted to hear : anthem for a 17 year old girl, KC accidental, almost crimes, cause = time, and stars and sons...they were just absolutely great. The Go! Team was a major dissappointment to me. Everything that was great about this album was overshadowed by the hired singer with her aweful lyrics and annoying tendencies to tell us it was the go! team...no, he's the f***ing go team, you were the hired help to play it live, and you are butchering it. Prefuse was alright... Death From Above was just as entertaining live as I thought they would be. I loved it...great set in my opinion Tortoise was great. Such great musicians and a perfect way to close the night. Played a bit of TNT songs and Standards songs which made me happy...i didn't like everything is all aroudn you was i the only one who went

H Reyonlds On Our Chances
QUOTE(MUScholar21 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 04:02 PM) I'm okay with this answer-it is better than all the people who just say the White Sox aren't for real. We have to actually accomplish something significant in the post season, not just be the champions of the first half. I asked this question because I just didn't know what the Sox had to do, and I think HR was correct-they need to win in the post season. Now, let's go out and prove that they should have gotten on the bandwagon in April when there was room. Now, get out of the way of it or you'll get run over. i'd be okay with this question if they ever actually watched the white sox...but i absolutely can't imagine that they do

H Reyonlds On Our Chances
in other words, we don't want to have to actually do our job to scout other teams, so we are just gonna fall back on the teams we are familiar with so we can have more time to do blow on urinals with gammons.

GAME THREAD 7-17-05 SOX vs INJUNS
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 09:21 PM) What's your point? you're right, if you don't have a problem with it nobody else should.

GAME THREAD 7-17-05 SOX vs INJUNS
could we take a short moment to count how many off kilter comments were made for the titles of these threads... i mean, cleveland has it coming for their mascot...but injuns...scalp the indians...whatever... the important thing is that after oakland, we had 4 starters give up only 3 runs...ridiculous.
