I kinda agree with Hub honestly. I didn’t listen but assume it was more related to the offseason drama. If players can constantly benefit in MVP voting for intangible leadership and getting teammate buy in, why can’t they be hurt for the absolute opposite. Add to that his complaints look so shallow now. Seems like GB continuously grabbing DBs instead of WRs is looking pretty good! Randall Cobb is back…doesn’t seem to be the solution. Yeah, he’s very good. But Is his year so much better than Brady (who once again stayed on the field the whole year)? Anyway I’d go Cooper Kupp. That’s an insane year. We all know QBs are MVPs blah blah just like we all know Lebron James was actually MVP from like 2007-2020. Give the guy some bonus money.

It won’t matter if the bears are open to anything if everyone looks at the main decision maker as someone who can’t bring them talent but will survive them anyway.

Oh my god no I read what I wanted to read

When even “hiring bill belicheck” can fail, I don’t know what the heck template to follow. The bulls were so behind, with such a small front office and scouts network. I don’t feel like Bears are anti modern or anything as an org, they just keep hiring people that aren’t good. That’s rough! Im pro Harbaugh and hand over the reigns. I’d also be happy with Leftwich, Moore. Who knows.

so hub arkush says pace is out too according to "very good sources". Man let this weekend end sheeeesh

I think a lot of this stuff is hard to suss out with his decision to go to DET specifically to try to be more ball dominant. He's played for Donovan before, if he's okay with joining a winning team again and all that entails, I doubt you'll see anything close to his shot selection. I think I'd rather just maximize offense with Barnes, because how much are you going to slow down a nets anyway, and milwaukee will be a slog anyway where we'll probably be more concerned with offense. But if Grant reverts to Denver form OR can handle more of the second line duties with Coby as main scorers that can help maybe keep a fresher DDR or Lavine in playoffs.

I actually thought it was quiet last night, but also never really think the UC is that loud for Bulls games compared to Hawks or what happens at full sox games.

This may be true but like Wendell Carter, Pat was one of the youngest players in his class, and we were saying the same stuff about him and I just watch that dude be a completely different player than what he was a year ago. It is a classic now vs later thing, but I don't think our impressions of williams now are that accurate for what he can be. And he was showing aggressiveness like, just before he got hurt.

What are the odds the sox move a prospect off a position for defensive reasons anyway.

an interesting back and forth on who bulls should try for at the deadline. I really can't decide but have to say it's nice to trust that the bulls front office is likely to make the right choice. https://heavy.com/sports/chicago-bulls/nba-trade-buzz-should-bulls-go-for-harrison-barnes-or-jerami-grant/ Obviously, there are other dream acquisitions like Siakam. Based off of that read, Grant could press the bulls ability to shut down the perimeter when caruso and ball are there. The bulls gave up a ton in the paint on Sunday, but it's worse when it's layups. I'm not sure the bulls care as much if they are just getting bullied by bigs. Caruso and Ball help shut down any easy penetration.

Wow. Got nervous this was from the Athletic which would have been cancel-worth as a subscriber. Manfred is such a coward.

so definitely an amazing experience. If this is something anyone has wanted to do, I'd definitely check out the A and B rows for the main 100 level sections on weeknight/less popular opponents because it was still incredible. There was a possession late in the fourth where zach crossed over, stepped back and drained a jumper that TV can't recreate. Fun stuff: - Uh, you get free drinks (alcohol and non) and a wait staff in these seats - At one point the ref T'd up Mo Bamba on the bench when the ref was halfway up the court. Nobody around us heard it, not even sure if the players heard it, but it was hilarious as players and fans alike were looking around asking each other what he said, while Mo Bamba just kept his head down, and then everyone just started cracking up at once. - Gary Harris was chatting up some Michigan State fans chanting for him to come home. To which he replied he's never going back to winter again. - It is crazy watching Wendell Carter bully "mismatches" like DJJ now and how he was aggressively running his offense. The Magic are bad, but I really like this Carter/Wagner duo and how they play off one another. They are skilled enough it may work with a talented wing and guard combo. - Ayo is freakin ripped, I wonder as he continues to gain strength what it will allow him to add to his game - Just an unbelievably bad shooting night. If Ball had a reasonable night from 3 this game wouldn't have been close, also if Demar juts hit his normal FT rate. - One of my favorite moments of being up close was when we were on bulls basket side, lonzo grabbed a rebound and you could see his eyes turn upcourt to a bulls player streaking by us. He opted against it, but it was so cool that you could see what he was thinking - Also fun to see the players direct each other on the court and talk to each other. Easy to see how there is stuff a color announcer like King can pick up on being close to the actoin vs. TV It's gonna be hard to go back to regular seats

Tampa receives an extra top 40 draft pick every year ($2M more to spend) and an additional million in the INTL free agency market. Oakland had that same deal for years, only ending in 2020, so we will see how it affects them.

This is 100% correct and it has huge issues. It's really hard for sox to maintain a top farm (it was hard for cubs to maintain top farm, it was hard for phillies to maintain top farm) with those constraints, but yes obviously the dodgers have been able to. But the Dodgers also have a massive front office and I imagine it's foreign operations run much hotter, so it runs back to point 1 Balta mentioned. I'd say there is ample Reinsdorf ammo there. Either you can point to point 1, or that as an owner he has tried hard to get owners in a united front against the players, and has not been as concerned with the constant gifts being given to smaller organizations because they "can't compete" despite the last decade of getting league wide spoils.

I have a feeling Lonzo is going to be launching outlet passes all night after being bored at home for a week.

Mets could shop McNeil, Sox could have interest

If not, then why do they care about specifically getting a “fourth or fifth” starter, while free agency exists. -
No I think it would be a big boost to Giants, Mariners, Angels.

The roster of teams that are willing to trade current, actual starting pitching for a starting second baseman isn't large. Sounds like a 3-way trade or the mets can receive salary relief to sign a 4/5 starter. -

Because the sox have such specific needs, did not come close to filling them, I think you have to take on a guy with warts. I think our clubhouse is strong enough to handle stuff like that, and the mets clubhouse is specifically NOT. We don't even know if the shifts were placating some Lindor demand over actual defensive improvements, the mets are idiots. -
No that's good, that makes sense over thing I vaguely remember on twitter (and don't even know if it was a nfl writer or rando)
-
yeah I won't hold my breath. Jerry has prioritized the players losing instead of fighting the competitive balance arguments. But for all the finger wagging at the sox for their drafts, and they deserve it, they are the only team in the ALC without competitive balance picks. We get less intl spending money than every other team. So yeah, their freakin "bigger budgets" better work in getting free agents because the other teams in the division get a whole lot of handouts when it comes to competing.
-
It's not money, it's giving the opportunity to spend more on the draft to teams that win.
-
Here's something I'd be open to which achieves something similar. In leagues with relegation, obviously big help of moving up a league is getting more money and budget and resources, as well as prestige, etc. What if you kept the slotting of draft picks by record, but gave draft pool bonuses and intl FA bonuses to teams that make playoffs or finish top 10 in their league. The team with the #1 overall draft pick still has the ability to get the rights for a year to an elite prospect, but wouldn't be able to hoard a huge draft draft class as well because the money is more equalized across the draft class. The reason this won't work is it will be complicated at hell for what happens to the overall draft pool for the first year (do you grow it for the bonus money, or reduce recommended slot?).

I cannot find it but I feel like I saw something in my twitter feed today that the schedule ramifications would actually be affected with a win.

Oh my god I found floor seats for tomorrow’s game for only $200 (normal weekday/non big time team like this would be like $550+). I’ve only been on 100 level once, this is gonna be amazing
