  1. conforto had one terrible month where he struggled with a hamstring injury. He got better as he recovered. He has been a consistent offensive force the previous three years. And for those searching for stat sites that will show he’s bad in defense, I’d say a hamstring may have led to some temporary struggles.
  2. I specifically don’t want a coach who is bringing a “system” he will rigidly fit his players into. Would much rather end up with some guy like Mike Vrabel next. I mean, how could we possibly know if Ryan day is good? It doesn’t seem like it matters who coaches Ohio state, the part rolls on.
  3. Trying to understand the words that pat fitzgeralds offensive and defensive systems have been subpar
  4. Yeah It’s hard not knowing the broader view. I get annoyed when the board treats solid players like they are trash. Mainly, I’ve been grossed out by the defense of most of the options - and that’s what I liked about Segura. But I kinda think it’s Phil’s pushing Segura. So I do wonder if this can be a deal we shed Keuchel. Who knows.
  5. Pretty sure everyone would take lux, that’s unfortunately just not really our options.
  6. My thought as well. They are a major stars and scrubs team. The bummer to me continues to be howard already gone.
  7. He is still developing but sounds like a promising defensive catcher, lotsa contact but zero pop.
  8. yeah, I made this if you want and have a gmail account. Just either download it or copy it into your account: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1v-L_AWIcTXsM6LdFFzwS7dB30E3rS-WLeOe4anRs1MI/edit?usp=sharing With graverman, and without kimbrel: Scherzer @ $35M and Conforto @ $19million (which came from spotrac) puts you at $199M. That's without any 2b, so you are rolling with Romy. Trading Keuchel helps.
  9. I created a $185M roster payroll team this morning that had people jumping off buildings so just prepare yourself people, even a $200M payroll doesn't get you anywhere near a spending spree of scherzer, conforto, semien it just basically allows you to get a great guy and two good guys
  10. Let's hope Colson Montgomery can have same ease moving up.
  11. I just want to be clear my thing was Schwarber at DH.
  12. exactly - the team that matches up best for sox is cleveland, which makes them the team that matches up worst. From Jose Ramirez to the pitching, they are the yin to our yang except our yang is bigger and we just need their beautiful yangs
  13. Ok, I agree and I don't see pitching as a fit for him. Hitters mentioned: Bryan Reynolds Ketel Marte Both would be incredible gets, with control. Others I'd consider: Lowe (b/c who knows with TB) Here's a weird one: San Francisco offers you Mike Yazstremski, Kyle Harrison for Vaughn ???
  14. this is great stuff, had on idea. I hope for his sake that Kevin Long can bring him some success.
  15. every pitcher i'd trade him for is on a team that is competing. Yeah, would love Jose Urias or Buehler. I'd love Woodruff, Burnes, Peralta. Here's an interesting one, that I wouldn't do. Would you trade Vaughn for Mackenzie Gore
  16. Probably - but I think biggest help is just confirming to players prior to an unknown-length lockout that they are either a free agent or have a contract for the next year, not necessarily to jump their market.
  17. If in any trade a simple one for one of Vaughn for player, its a good sign I wouldn't make that trade. Vaughn + for like...? I don't even know. The guys last year are clearly not available. DeGrom ain't coming up. Pablo Lopez? Gallen? Glasnow maybe I'd have done but not for a partial 2022.
  18. The point is the sox have shown the tendency to structure the team this way, not that I think defense doesn't matter. And even that poor construction no one likes, you are at $185M salary, to which the sox would be thinking "wow thanks jerry, great investment, we are all in"
  19. Outs Above Average: Eloy Jimenez: +2 (LF) Vaughn : -3 (LF) FRAA: Eloy Jimenes: -0.2 Andrew Vaughn: -3.8
  20. Because I forgot which of my plans I was promoting. Should be Vaughn/Sheets
  21. Yes, we would not be good on defense. However, the sox have definitely played in those waters before. You don't have to trade Eloy and Vaughn, you actually just keep them, I don't get that idea. Eloy was actually pretty good in LF, and you have Engel too. And also, Vaughn is not a better defender than Eloy, that's crazy. He is likely slightly better than Schwarbs.
  22. Keep in mind if we sign schwarber we'll get 10 million: ANDERSON ROBERT SCHWARBER ABREU YAZ ELOY MONCADA ESCOBAR GARCIA ZOMG SICK OFFENSE posts And they would be right?
