  1. I don't think it was one thing. If it was where it starts, it was the 2016 draft.
  2. ok but they aren't rolling out their 2023 team to play the 2024 schedule. They get year 2 of Stroud + Slowik with better skill players, most of their defensive players back (who were young) and a likely upgrade in Danielle Hunter. Some of the teams you are referencing could easily be worse. Baltimore lost MacDonald and could see their D start to fade, Buffalo is self explanatory, Miami's D could easily be worse and tua is injury prone, Chiefs in regular season may not be that difficult, and Cowboys lost quinn. Houston has continuity with a young roster and got better. Hence why people think they'll get better.
  3. Very much the equivalent of "throw the touchdown play". Texans have done a great job turning it around, made some really good hires. A lot of teams tried to do what they did. The jets fans responses to that were pretty priceless. Almost a complete recreation of what the texans did except their QB was awful.
  4. I love how much this is getting dragged.
  5. Props to Crochet. Has to be gratifying to know you can do this at this level and start off so strong. On the flip side…very frustrating. It’s not really a sliding doors moment, just another thing of like - how many other decisions based on expedience added up to this prolonged suckfest. offensively…we gotta get on base more.
  6. Hope so. He just seems like he'll survive another 15 years to spite us.
  7. wow sorry I meant to say 90s/2000s Royals.
  8. I'm pretty concerned honestly that we are about to head into a 20 year streak of obsolescence like the 90s/2000s Royals. This just seems so far off from building back up, and zero confidence that this group can consistently make the right decision. Mena for Fletcher, the cease trade not inspiring confidence so far.
  9. 2 shut outs in four games. Shocked shocked. Thought this offense had more.
  10. Amazing we are about to be 0-3 and my thoughts are the Sox look better than I expected and tigers look worse lol
  11. lmao reporting is that one of the reasons there was such confusion and backtracking is they were initially still relying on the interpreter to tell ohtani what was happening as they were explaining it.
  12. As I said though…I’d rather they sweep this under the rug
  13. I agree, I just don't particularly like this group. Would be happier with Murphy at 9 than Verse, whom I just think is way too low ceiling.
  14. you probably know banks more than me but I can't imagine merely having access to an account would allow you to WIRE millions without it setting off some checks that would have found their way to Ohtani.
  15. It's not BAD, but it's definitely the worst case scenario. It leaves them less likely to be able to trade out if they had enough first round grades, and leaves them out on a likely OT1 and all three top WRs (who are brought up a lot because they are really good WR prospects).
  16. So Athletic just posted a plausible worst case scenario mock (IMO) 1. Caleb 2. Daniels 3. (Vikings Trade Up) Maye 4. MJH 5. Nabers 6. Odunze 7. Alt 8. (Broncos trade up) McCarthy 9. Dallas Turner Worst case to me? Can't get top 3 receiver AND miss out on the trade out opportunity for JJ. MAYBE people want to trade in for CB1 or Edge 1 or jump Jets for OT2. But it'll be tough.
  17. I don't see how this wasn't a cover up but also kinda hoping they cover it up.
  18. Oh so the opposite of drafting a Receiver not being worth anything without great tackles and it destroying the QB.
  19. This is literally the Ja'Marr Chase / Penei Sewell debate and you'll never guess what happened
  20. I’m with you. I think at some point I’d prefer to be like the packers and live on later round receivers…but what separates edge and WR is good edges hit FA but only decent WR2s may hit the market and then get WR 1 money. OT though is tough, they also don’t become available.
  21. Eh, he grew up in DC,, and Oklahoma, both certainly more mild than Chicago but not like the dude has never seen snow. Also, the league is riddled with QBs mostly from california. Big 10 QBs have not been the dominant force despite the tough defenses and worse weather preparing them.
  22. It has definitely started to become chalk now with 4 QBs in top 8. That is wild, but hard to see that happening without a WR getting to 9. But I"m sure we'll find that it's far from certain. I think it will be too hard to say no to Odunze/Nabers. But I'm good trading down just want a WR.
