  1. They very much reduce infection and transmission, your information is from a very narrow reading of what the initial EUAs were filed for but since then there have been millions vaccinated and studies in places like Israel confirming what was already very likely. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-02-21/pfizer-biontech-shot-stops-covid-s-spread-israeli-study-shows Note, that topline number will be lower, but if you are vaccinated you are less likely to be infected and are less likely to transmit, but we don't know to what degree yet. But that is a substantial reduction of risk to the point that idea that you couldn't hold a concert because people may spread it outside is much more stringent than a "anyone can go to an indoor restaurant with some space between them" standard which currently exists.
  2. I think it is because Heuer, Foster, Marshall were pushed down this offseason to be MRP is why I'm so positive. I'd probably still think our bullpen is good if Heuer was our 8th inning guy, but we now have Crochet/Bummer in that role. It allows guys to have some struggles an use others, and not just throw jimmy cordero out there every day because you need arms.
  3. props to @hogan873 for providing good and helpful information on this topic leading up to the announcement.
  4. Bruce Levine has been saying sox/Cubs were given go ahead for April , though maybe not opening day. He said announcement should come this week if not today.
  5. I think there were some interesting lessons from the UC rollout. For those that missed it, initially it was rolled out to cook county residents 65+ or older, then was supposed to open up today (appts yesterday evening) to any 16 y.o. + eligible person (teachers/comorbidities, etc). Then FEMA apparently pushed a change to the state to limit it to only Chicago for some reason, and any non-chicago cook county residents were not allowed. Apparently most of the appts were from the non-chicago group. My takeaway is I've read some that state/city leaders don't love the mass vax centers for logistics and spread reasons. But the UC opening was the most straightforward communications I've seen. Everyone knew about it, it was all over news, and they had the simple phone number and zoc doc link. There is a ton of demand right now, and the priority to speed it up by just pushing it to local and pharmacies is ultimately fine and doing a decent job. But it is confusing, and requires a lot of effort. That is probably ok during this phase where the people who want it most are putting in that effort. But really soon there will be enough to get to the group that is a little more hesitant, busy or just not prioritizing it as much. I think these sites (there are ones in a few diff parts of state) should hopefully open up to all IL residents. They are the easiest to understand, and should hopefully fill a void of fallback ("well I can always just drive to the UC and get one") On the other hand, maybe when it moves to 2 this isn't even as important, and anyone walking into a walgreens or CVS will be met with an opportunity to grab a quick shot. Here's hoping
  6. Yeah I didn’t plan that well. You are right, the first big batches of J&J are the 15th, so on 3/22 I really hope our avg is 3 mill at that point. I could still see a large week from 2nd doses + first doses really humming.
  7. A 2.9 million day, on March 5th. Can we hit 3 mill/day 7 day avg by mid March?
  8. Woo hoo 90k 7 day average hit with a 135k day yesterday
  9. I am also optimistic that we may have the best manager for dealing with it and making it the most productive experience for the guys we still hope to be starters. Thats a pro TLR take from me.
  10. I don’t find this that hard TBH. But I also feel like RT is the one area we can get an upgrade easily and am a believer in our new interior.
  11. Have reporters been allowed at the backfield games/ are there backfield games? Who has had eyes on little cespy ?
  12. I think one of the bigger issues was in 2015 when they had a top 10 pick but the top 10 wasn't set-up that well for them they took Kevin White. They weren't really in the place where a top 10 receiver made sense, they knew they were going into a massive rebuild after 2014 and post-Jay. That draft alone could have built up some additional draft capital. The next year they traded up for Floyd, the next Mitch, the next Miller, the next Montgomery and Foles. So aside from MAck, just that 2015 draft may have helped keep the backsliding where they were constantly behind picks wise. Basically if Pace likes a guy, fine, I am fine with it. But if he doesn't have that same "conviction", trade down since he knows he likes to trade up. That said, bears also always seemed to be one pick behind that "pivot point" where every team is trying to move up for a guy. Just missed on Leonard Williams, 49ers were in drivers seat in 2017, etc.
  13. Yeah, here's one scenario that's kinda dominos and wild. Bears acquire Wilson with picks and stuff Seattle acquires Jimmy G and restructures deal with some signing bonus with some bears future 1st or some draft capital San Fran moves up for X QB that shanahan loves using picks from Bears via Seattle. Seattle drafts that notre dame LB and a new OT in first, and more etc.
  14. Banger of a report today, only 1400 new cases on a sub 1.5% rate.
  15. noice noice noice noice noice noice. Would love to get a breakdown on % of 65 and older who have started their vaccinations.
  16. Since they are getting zilch out of Otto I wouldn't be surprised if it is just an OPJ/drummond swap with maybe a second round pick or something. Drummond wakes a ton, not many teams could take that on, but bulls have some good tradeable contracts. I think it could be a good idea to see how Zach plays off a good, albeit limited, big like Drummond since you are probably building around Zach at this point. I don't really see it though, and bulls rumors have been pretty much from the sellers, so it will be interesting. We have zilch clue what bulls will do.
  17. Mock drafts have become boring as everyone is just circling Mac Jones around the bears and then someone like Eichenberg in the 2nd. I'm just a Russell Wilson boy now as it is more fun. @Chisoxfn June 1st would save SEattle a ton of money, and I thought this article was good. I didn't think waiting was that big of a deal aside from the rookie not being able to participate in OTAs, but this article was good on another point - it would be a pain in the ass for SEattle if it wanted to package the picks they received from bears in draft day trades. https://dabearsblog.com/2021/bears-need-to-force-action-on-russell-wilson
  18. Yeah typically they herd people into just a few food options when expecting light attendance, I imagine part of plan will actually be to keep more vendors open to avoid that. Regarding seats, no idea would love to hear if any season ticket holders have had communication on how they were providing flexibility
  19. also just sidenote on law, he is my #1 media evaluator, but he is still annoying. I will say baseball draftguys have much less of a herd mentality than football/basketball, which is nice. I get that it's annoying that people think your rankings should reflect some x just because another writer did it. Callis is the worst because it just seems like all he does is take a mixture of others and then move up a few for interest. That said, Law had to know leaving Fabian out of his top 30 would be of interest. And in the comments, he can be such a jerk about it, like it is beneath him to have to explain his rankings. But that is kinda his job. The BA crew are just obsessively nice and I'll always back them up for that.
  20. I'm going to throw this out there, but njonlinegambling.com may not be the most rigorous polling unit
  21. Sigh this makes me misty-eyed. Picking up some tall boys before hopping on the green line to drink in the parking lot before heading in is just one of my very favorite things. None of those things by themselves are good (green line is good), but together ... incredible.
  22. Was this funded by from the 108?
  23. I would try therapy.
  24. Yeah, here is the perfect storm. Brees still wants another year and Russ wouldn't do him like that and Payton wouldn't do him like that. Gruden re-commits to Carr with a new deal Dallas seemed to rebuff pretty early. Even with saints, the good news is bears won't be unable to provide similar package with draft compensation.
  25. Kyle Brandt is on the score now on why he has bears get a good QB hype and I'm dying laughing. He's so good.
