  1. I actually voted for Madrigal but I guessed board would go for Stiever just because he's been a trade candidate for 18 mos now.
  2. I'd be surprised, I think they like their Carolina set-up.
  3. I used to laugh at them but then their insane decisions still ended up netting them more playoff appearances than the sox during the 2010s (not hard).
  4. I think these are pretty easy but wondering where we'll end up My guess:
  5. This is using that madrigal assumption but I just can't imagine the rockies seeing Nick Madrigal as a prize. Obviously at the right price, marquez is one of the best pitchers we could get, control or not. But I just have a hard time believing that's what the rox would want.
  6. Totally agree with this. Both $$/War and surplus value always feel like a retrofitting exercise and never that helpful as a predictive measure.
  7. I obviously like the talent, but I just don't think the sox are at a point where they need to pay out of depth for the exhorbitant talent price for cost-control.
  8. Ah, J&J was going for double that amount.
  9. If Jake Burger gets selected in the rule 5 I'll eat a hat.
  10. Did not expect Moderna and Pfizer to release phase 3 preliminary results ahead of J&J. Considering both those had data ready sooner than expected due to the surge of cases, I wonder when oxford/Astrozaneca, Johnson&johnson drop.
  11. Good stuff. Could be wrong, and I am I'm guessing it would be about Tyler Johnson, but I don't think sox will claim anyone, nor anyone will be claimed.
  12. That's a shame. I imagine in one year's time we'll be posing hypothetical trade deals for odorizzi, personally.
  13. Yeah pretty sure this is right and the same 1 year approach durant kept doing. Oladipo, man, I don't know how many will take a chance on that. I kinda forgot how restricted bulls are this year at salary, but porter gives them an extremely tradable salary to either help facilitate or take a chance.
  14. Can’t answer how well 90% would cut down on cases (substantially though) but the other piece was the vaccine may also lead to much less serious cases.
  15. It will be nice when the normies of us can get eyes on some of these guys. I'd say 80% of the prospects in this piece I've never seen before, all intl/hs picks that never played outside of the AZL backfields.
  16. Modernas phase 3 reports are fantastic. 95% efficacy and does NOT require the deep freeze storage Pfizer did.
  17. I don’t know to be honest. I’m a little confused at the idea of Theo doing a fire sale and then bowing out next year unless plan is Jed Houer takes over?
  18. He’s actually the ideal for me. He’s already paid a lot and “post prime” so you won’t need to send out as much in talent, but has shown he can adjust to his body changing and aging and maintain elite production. That’s the kind of trades that have worked out recently.
  19. Make it interesting, who wouldn’t want to turn over their entire outfield in one offseason?
  20. I really thought Boston just tried screwy stuff with porcello in 19 and he’d be ok in 20. Was wrong there. But Sox have done well with ground ballers recently
  21. Lol yeah but doesn’t it seem like Thompson is the one that gets mentioned more? That Dalquist profile - command , projection, not top FB yet feels like what they’ve started targeting in LatAm pitchers too to better results than prior decade.
  22. Yes but neither did Giolito before his changes.
  23. Sounds like Sox keeping 2020 plan thru 2021.
  24. https://theathletic.com/2198181/2020/11/15/white-sox-instructional-league-andrew-vaughn-jake-burger-garrett-crochet/?source=user_shared_article updates on Bailey, Sosa, Rodriguez, Ramos, Dalquist, Kelley, Gladney, Thompson, Bush, and an exciting update on Carranza. Hipster prospects galore.
