  1. will take the other side of that bet.
  2. More upset about this than Larussa. Sox had all the pieces set and then Reinsdorf took a piss. But I'm glad all the worst people in the org are happy.
  3. Cool so then lets get another catcher.
  4. I think Yadi would be worse for the #changethegame culture than Larussa by a lot.
  5. Yeah one scenario was going big with Bauer Stroman springer the other was Quintana ...something forgot rest. Basically the tweet equivalent of *makes jerkoff motion with hands*
  6. Springer seems right price wise, I'd honestly take 15% off the rest. I think these numbers are too high for this offseason. Specifically see no way Realmuto hits that (and I think he'd hit 150 if he was a FA last year)
  7. I don't mind both perspectives, just don't like when it becomes a crossfire act where everytime exit velocity is mentioned DJ needs to complain about how we already can tell whether a ball is hit hard or not.
  8. Same, he'd be perfect. Fe[tt]er has had a lot of interest recently, but I think the poster Orlando mentioned the state of college athletics. Baseball programs are going to be in a lot worse shape than football or basketball, and add to that it's a big ten program and not SEC and you are multiplying that pressure. Even if the TLR pairing isn't ideal, I could see it actually being an opportune time to pry him from college program. edit: and it's clear I'll never get his name right. FETTER. FETTER. It's better to be FETTER
  9. I like Masur but really didn't like the pairing. Without Farmer, suddenly DJ seemed like the cranky one, and honestly came off as condescending to Masur a lot. I think Masur tried to bring in some newer analytics and things like benetti and DJ would just go on long dismissive diatribes. Disappointing since I generally liked DJ on his own, but they had zero chemistry.
  10. I really liked the crew WGN gave to the sox. Sad to see that go. The constantly changing pre and post crews is a bummer, but then again, I listen to maybe 4-5 pre or post games a year
  11. Yesss we need another nba fan on the forum. What an insanely long stretch to try and entertain ourselves with bench coach rumors and version 223 of a mock draft. But that said once they clear up the schedule the condensed FA/draft period is going to be insanely fun.
  12. I'm not even sure there is a good option yet, but there will definitely be an opportunity in next few years, I just hope we can take advantage. The Greinke/Verlander type availability are the perfect pieces for up and coming contenders. Sox need to build depth now and be patient for a big, reliable vet like that.
  13. As someone who wants 2 SPs this year, I'm starting to think hard about Minor as SP #2. Open questions are whether the weird schedule last year made his fastball so much worse, as his velo was down and a lot even though that has been the trend post surgery in 2015. That said, that guy gets you innings, and I'm worried about what happens to this rotation in a 162 game schedule with an injury up front.
  14. It is truly a singular posters obsession. I don't know of another that continuously posts about trading him.
  15. I just am at a completely different place than you guys. I'm willing to trade talent for position players. I would much, much rather get pitchers through FA, or soak in an expensive/market priced vet through trade. Woodruff is good, but I'm not interested in paying the huge sums for cheap control. Pitchers are too volatile. He's not even openly on the market, so you know he'll take a ton. Ideally a great pitcher the next few years gets dangled and we have resources to get them, but the obsession over woodruff is misplaced to me.
  16. Well, that will be tough. Another thing that makes this a weird spending environment.
  17. He’s a top 30 pitcher in this league. While that may not be an ace, those also don’t grow on trees.
  18. Sigh, well that's very reasonable.
  19. My answer isn’t as interesting but according to ye olde baseball America it is prep up the middle talent.
  20. oh crap this is a good point. If I'm a college coach ESPECIALLY big ten baseball, I may be nervous on job security.
