Rest of the Off Season
Maybe offensive, you couldn’t get the versatility on the left side.

Why has Hahn failed?
I don’t care what people say, a VP like Hahn who oversees all of that is responsible for making his owner understand the value of that budget. It’s minuscule compared to payroll (which isn’t large)

Rest of the Off Season
I like Jose Iglesias as an option for a few million, would allow TA more days off. really not much for me to care about in FA now and I don’t see the trades. If you gave me the reigns I could probably salvage something meaningful, but what’s left is even trying for me.

Why has Hahn failed?
Agree with others on some stuff. His lack of commitment to international and then only slowly starting to modernize their PD team after already aligning the future of his tenure to young prospects is just idiotic to me. Some stuff like the draft feel better, but I’m not sure they are. Take away his superior draft position and it is hard to tell, still next to no success in rounds 2-10. So regardless of his money constraints affecting FA, he put himself in a position to rely on big impacts from FA because he has been so terrible in the organic levers of team building.

Time to rebuild the rebuild?
It’s almost like posters can see the quality of the remaining free agents.

Martin Perez thread
He had decent success with a cutter last year, thought he would make sense and be productive. Only 29 still. The handful of interesting bounce back pitchers are dwindling. Ideally they can get Miley.

Expectations
the shitty dickens sequel

The Chicago Black Hats
Would have been more fun to invert Athletics than As though I understand the logo wouldn’t be manipulative

Why isn’t there more pressure from new t.v. rights deal?
Have the cubs stated their expected revenue gains? I imagine the bolded is the reason why theres more mystery.

Why isn’t there more pressure from new t.v. rights deal?
Hmm, good question. Probably because they've done a good job avoiding public disclosure of the expected increases.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
I have zero clue what this means.
-
Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
Well at least sucking up a bad deal means they aren’t giving up major prospects.
-
Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
Why? To me that indicates they can just suck up a bad deal. Also let’s remember Sox were rumored to like Eovaldi last year. Maybe GM they take on a horrible deal with upside.

Sox and Sawks to see if the Price is Right
Yes, though I will say everytime this board thinks a team will bend over backwards to shed salary it ends up being nothing close to it. The cozart deal was the best example recently of what we all think will happen and the sox weren't in it.

Sox and Sawks to see if the Price is Right
Stroman, Bauer, Quintana, Ray, Hamels, Tanaka, Arrieta, possibly Kluber as I'm confused about his option.

Sox and Sawks to see if the Price is Right
There was a reddit post which he deleted saying the angels were out on Cole, were trading Cozart to Giants, and then targeting Rendon, then trading for Price and signing Ryu.

Sox and Sawks to see if the Price is Right
Angels along with Ryu.

Sox and Sawks to see if the Price is Right
So with it seeming to be an actual competition for David Price I would say "do not do this terrible deal" and yes I will be relatively happier with 2 of my choice of remaining FAs.

Angels sign Rendon - 7yrs 245
Just tell them he'll be a DH then, they are totally comfortablt spending tens of millions on old terrible DHs. In their prime good players? Terrifying.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
that's definitely what I thought.

Sox in on MadBum
And he’ll pitch every 5th day. This team needs some intensity.

Sox and Sawks to see if the Price is Right
If I'm packaging Vaughn and Madrigal the headline piece is going to be a hell of a lot better than a 34 year old price, Benintendi or Rodriguez. That's just (expensive) depth. And I'm a big Benintendi backer! Use that talent for a guy your front office does not allow themselves to sign.

Sox and Sawks to see if the Price is Right
yes, and I would also bet this offer was not discussed at all. And it was more Gammons talking to someone in or near the FO who was identifying prospects.
