Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him
bmags replied to Sockin's topic in Pale Hose Talk
This is how I look at it, and I agree you just hold onto him. Listen I hate jim bowden, but considering all he does is mimic other writers opinions, he's a useful sounding board. https://theathletic.com/1025856/2019/06/14/bowden-five-trades-that-american-league-contenders-should-make/ Consistently I see colome as the "affordable" option. And here, you see two reliever prospects from one of the worst farms in baseball. So yeah I'd probably shop bummer and keep colome. -
sounds like a fun game (while I'd imagine players like vaughn or burger would get tune-ups in AZL this is the group i'd see as most likely) C - Millwee, Torres, G. Ortiz 1b - Osik 2b/SS - Jerrick Francees, Jose Rodriguez, Samil Polanco, Pimental 3b - DJ Gladney OF - Beard, Joseu Guerrero, Coronado, Jon Allen, Acosta Gonzalez, Glass P - Andrew Dalquist, Thompson, Acosta, Freeman, Friedman, Carranza, Cooper, Shilling Uhh, pitching seems light, probably missing some there.

Yeah, I'm sure they can supplement their bullpen. But the question is who views Alex Colome as the new closer or dominant reliever? If we want to talk about how valuable he is and how clearly he is going to get a haul because teams need a bullpen, surely one of those teams is going to pay for him to supplant their current top guy(s) -

Colome isn't going to take the ball from Matt Barnes. -

Does anyone believe there is a single playoff team that would view colome as anything more than 7th inning depth? -

Lol, good luck with that argument. -

I think he was referring to Bummer. -
Indeed. Is there a roster?

https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/prospects/stats/affiliates Well, resident DSL-boy, me, is going to post the box because Ronaldo Guzman is friggen killin it once again. 3 IP, 5ks, 0 runs (2 BB but we are positive in DSL-boy land) Also Benyamin Bailey is 1-2 with a BB and a SB so far, the giant man can move. Espinoza has a double, and has one of the few .100 isos on the team. Congrats Anthony!

I think it's mostly that he could be available. I'm very skeptical that even if BVW and the mets become sellers that the types of players they shed are position players with long-ish term control. I would imagine option 1A is just shed salary and regroup for next year. I really do like that collection of position players with mcneil, nimmo, conforto, alonso, davis, (is dom smith for real right now?). Granted, should they be sellers of these guys, I would hope sox would be involved and solve long term corner OF need (or 2b).

Oh, I did not see that. That's interesting.

I think they are much more interested in SP help than bullpen. Why would the yankees, in an actual playoff push, trade for a struggling young pitcher when they have a piece to get them a good young pitcher? I'll have to get back to you on that.
-
Yeah this is true. Still a lot of interesting guys but a bunch that like maintaining a .260 avg with low Ks is a success (Weaver) so not that exciting to follow.

Lol I proposed in the Yankees game thread a Reynaldo lopez and Luis g for Frazier swap. would have helped if lopez had another curveball dominant game.

Possible long-term SP trade targets for 2019 TDL?

I would be interested in selling Wacha on a bullpen role personally. Seeing him a few times this year, he can’t maintain his repertoire. -
A good example of why I think Collins can be successful is Omar Narvaez.
-
Well have to see when he’s up. my impression is they will be different circumstances. Moncada needed to make contact more because his exit velos and speed led to a higher sustainable BABIP. Collins has less of that, I think he does need to maximize what he gets out of plate discipline, and focusing on getting s pitch he can drive even in the zone while getting walks.
-
Congrats to Zack, a huge accomplishment on its own. I do believe that Collins elite batting eye will lead to more power and walks than most would expect from his poor hitting tool. Especially with the trend of an increase in breaking / offspeed pitches. Take Castillos job and don’t look back.

Pretty boring opening weekend for Great Falls.

Rosenthal has a piece on Scherzer assessing likelihood he is shopped. If nats nosedive again, he is one of their more attractive pieces since most others they’d trade are rentals. -
Nice showing for our senior signings last night in Great Falls! I cant really spell names but pawalcyzk had 3 ks in one inning, Patel had 2ks in one. And there was another one but I forgot who.

Pels did great.

Yeah I’d take that risk probably. -

I’ve mentioned this name before but I kinda like Joe Palumbo from the rangers. He’s more of a stable 4/5 type, and it’s unclear how Texas views themselves since they are equally pitching deprived, however, these are the kinda things I’m more inclined to look for. Depth over frontline.
