You know, I think bumgarner actually is the prime guy to go after. He likely will not be your ace though you will pay him like it, but for a young team, getting this larger than life player to come in and lead their next step to contention makes a lot of sense to target. And he's lefty.

I think in general its true that big money deals for pitchers are bad overall, but they are a productive bad thing you do when you want to win because getting pitching that's good at the time is hard to predict long term and you just gotta take a shot.

It's not a bouncy ball though. It reduces drag on fly balls, but he doesn't hit many of them. I'm thrilled that Madrigals game has been so successful to date, but he has only hit 11 home runs over the last 4 years. I think he may hit 10 when he gets to his 26+ years, but hopefully he can keep above a .100 iso at the majors levels which would be a decent amount of doubles and triples.

I don't believe so, I don't see urgency and there is a need to have 1b/dh open for yermin/collins/palka/etc. Not really a need, but I don't think there is an urgency.
