  1. I was fine with the Joc trade but will have some fomo on seeing if driveline fixed Fulmer.
  2. I don't think this is true, they still want to win this year and just upgraded their catcher and then some, at a cost of a tremendous but young pitcher whom could get injured at any point.
  3. No I don't think the positions would translate so cleanly. Cease, Basabe or Adolfo, Flores sure, maybe pilkington. Would be close.
  4. Ha, just thought about if the Marlins now have enough to sign that Cuban SS prospect. Would be brutal for Os fans. Last year they thought they had victor victor and he went to marlins right? THis would be a hilarious double gut punch.
  5. I think it could affect Joc Pederson if the dodgers pulled out to see what could be done to get Realmuto. Weird though, if they were preparing to send Verdugo you'd think that would trump Phillies deal. I like Sixto more, but he's a few years away and a pitcher.
  6. Sixto is really good but yeah. I still like Alfaro. Lighter than I expected for sure.
  7. And they guy they hold up to show they improved (Adolfo) was one of the top three signings in the class.
  8. Honestly I think it's more likely based off of the people I know that they are aware sox are going after some big free agents and may not know much about either.
  9. If the Phillies sign Harper, I am really not that worried about being squeezed by Manny. His market will be sox vs. pads...sox are even better positioned there than sox vs. phils.
  10. Also it's a crime that LM hasn't been allowed to try and develop as a 5 more often.
  11. I mean if you get Zion and get a good point guard, a team construction of PG/lavine/porter/zion/markannen with WCJ as the backup big (can guard 4s and 5s) is really nice actually because markannens spacing helps facilitate zion's lack of shot initially. Lavine Porter and Markannen should create nice spacing. You basically need a PG that can play some defense though.
  12. Sure, but within white sox fans, casual fans pay attention to what hardcore sox fans pay attention to. The idea that a casual fan doesn't know that sox are trying to get one of the best players in the league I'm not very convinced of.

It's interesting for the whole league though, not just the white sox. Like it's not surprising at all to me that mets ended up so well, they have an incredible amount of redundancy in position players with at least league average guys, and it showed up that way. I see many scenarios they don't perform well, but a good way to the playoffs has been not ending up having to play charlie tilson and adam engel in the same outfield for a month.
  14. Maybe I'm crazy but I'm not sure I would ever want to give up that much for a catcher. Feels like a position you either make fit with free agents or get lucky with your own prospect (or as other teams call it: player development) and don't let them go. Realmuto is awesome, but who knows when it all takes its toll. I really liked sixto and alfaro.
  15. I don't know, the yankees cubs rangers braves seem to go after the top talents every year and they seem to get good production, while the sox keep saying they are playing the quantity game and we have 1 player in the last 6 years that might be in AA that wasn't a professional cuban player to show for it.

I think it's a good signal of depth.

Yeah, I think underrated his at this point this still isn’t a very deep team, especially pitching. The help is still too far.

    Seen it on the twitters
  19. Glad the bulls are a stable situation to start maximizing Porters talents.
  20. There was a great Grant Brisbee article that basically dispelled this notion: https://www.google.com/amp/www.sbnation.com/a/mlb-2017-season-preview/game-length/amp
  21. But they’ll all be drunk on corn syrup
  22. I initially had my interest peaked. My friend was a huge cavs fan and prior to LeBron signing heard from his dad (who is a police sergeant or some higher level) that a bunch of off duties were called in for an upcoming day and that the rumor was it was for a LeBron signing. But then so remembered that I’m pretty sure it was to add additional personnel to the home he still had in the area (where people congregated after his announcement).
  23. Yeah, but don’t rule out Boylen as coach. Ultimate weapon.
  24. Maybe a bump, but many teams are setting themselves up for free agency this year and previously when that has happened some fine players get paid like stars.
  25. Portis is a sieve that can get hot offensively, but like many bulls, is a black hole on offense. He never passes. He’s really not much different than Antonio Blakeney. The bulls have 10 versions of Antonio blakeneys. Just traded 2.
