  1. I don't know, but I also know boras loves to talk to the media.
  2. That's quite the statement. Man, i have zero clue who leaked the terms.
  3. Would be more fun if this was condensed into a day though
  4. I'm going to say that it's incredibly unlikely it's lower. But considering how stupid everything is, you may be right and i'm sure Levine will be quick to tweet that.
  5. reason #589 that player comps are dumb: comparing pujols to manny machado.
  6. He has actually tried to identify them, even if he still puts it out there. He has had several tweets this offseason saying stuff like "harper camp saying there is a mystery team but I can't find anyone to confirm."
  7. aside from it being positive therefore I believe it (as is board rule), I've enjoyed heyman this offseason because he's been very transparent to fans in trying to describe and cut through agent BS (like mystery teams) and team BS. So this holds weight to me.
  8. Yeah this would be hilarious if true (I'm extremely skeptical not that I don't doubt there are people in front office that have a limit), an extremely fortuitous set of circumstances even has them leading after a 7 for 175 offer, and they are split after wasting 15 million hiring family and friends? They aren't serious then, they would be naive. It's a weird narrative and I'm not buying it.
  9. However, it may cut down on tanking. And fans also like appearance of competitiveness, and it would make building through free agency a thing again.
  10. Sorry, my comment was snarky and not at you. Where I think NBA cap works is it effectively raised the salary for the median nba player. It did not help the superstar nba player. And, quite honestly in baseball I do think a salary cap would make the yankees even more dominant. Baseball players would be better served imo to fight to cut team control to 4 years with a 5th year option tied to the average salary of the top 10 players in the position or something like that. Teams rightly don't want to pay for players as they decline, but that means they shouldn't get to underpay them when they are. That would really hurt vets immediately but I fully believe middle tier players would do better after 2-3 years.
  11. Sorry, I'm not sympathetic to the white sox in this scenario.
  12. The Golden State Warriors lost 2 years ago to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Heat lost to the Mavs. edit: The rockets took GSW to a game 7 and it took a historically poor shooting night to lose The OKC thunder took GSW to a game 7 The 2000 lakers went like 16-1 in the playoffs.
  13. Yeah basically we can hybrid two theories. One is hector gomez/passan where sox have actually verbalized a final winning offer letting machado's camp do what they can with it (8/250), but a literal offer of 7/175 which lozano decided to leak to then show he gained 75 million for his client in bidding.
  14. oh man yeah the glory days of lakers nets please take me back oh god back to the competitive days where only 2 teams won a championship in 8 years wonderful time love history.
  15. I definitely think it hurt especially among weird teams that care about that like the cards.
  16. Better example: John Wall is making 40 mill a year dude.
  17. Its crazy, but some people just like watching the game because it's fun and don't just watch because they only get enjoyment from wins. For instance, you could talk to nba fans why they like it instead of just talking to baseball and hockey fans who mostly can just muster why nba sucks.
  18. If I wanted my roster to learn off the ball movement the last coach I would hire is Jim Boylen, well, Byron Scott and then Jim Boylen.
  19. Most of that is just driven by the fact that nba is a different game that is hugely influenced by a small number of players. It still has the same ecosystem nba has of teams that behave rich, teams that behave smart, and outside of soxtalk.com, the nba is actually quite popular! It's the sport people actually talk about at work!
  20. They gave him the Eaton trade! it was a big deal!
  21. It's one of those things where in interviews they will say it doesn't matter but they play the game all the same.
