  1. Brian, trying to take him to right, hopefully because of that he'll be able to protect against the breaking ball if he gets one.
  2. QUOTE(rventura23 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 02:48 PM) did the tribe loose anyone from the bullpen besides bobby Arthur Rhodes, David Riske.
  3. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 02:48 PM) Mota got the job done. Cintron had a good AB but failed in the end. I don't like the idea of Anderson here, but maybe he'll surprise me. This is the type of guy where being agressive could be a good thing. I actually have a good feeling about BA here.
  4. Crap. Just looked bad that whole ab. Brian will get him for us though.
  5. QUOTE(rventura23 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 02:46 PM) anyone know what the action in the sox bullpen is? Bobby was warming up at the beginning of the inning.
  6. Good battle but he doesn't look very good up there. I'm hoping for a walk.
  7. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 02:44 PM) Can we just use this thread then going forward for the rest of the year just to vent about our bullpen? I know this will not be the last time Ozzie screws up when it comes to our bullpen JUST KIDDING No, you aren't kidding. Ozzie is going to mess up plenty of times, all managers do. He's also going to make some moves that you and I hate that turn out to be gold.
  8. Alex has to shorten up. That kind of swing is not going to get it done against Mota, he keeps swinging like that and he k's.
  9. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 02:41 PM) That would be awful. Juan doesn't get good jumps. I have no problem with being agressive, but you got to pick and choose the situation and doing it now, this late in the game would be a poor move, imo. Don't let Juan get far off first base, period. I love the guy but he's just a horrendous base runner.
  10. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 02:34 PM) If that is really how it plays out and if Kenny knew up front he is done, then that is fine. But then maybe we should have gotten Flash Gordon in the offseason. It is not like spending another few millions would have mattered from a payroll perspective. This bullpen worries me a lot. Just my $0.02. I'm fairly confident in saying that there isn't a person on this site who isn't worried about the bullpen. That being said Damaso is not the answer and none of us know how this pen is going to do over the course of the year after 3 games. Just wait and see and don't make a thread about it everytime we let up a run or ozzie makes a mistake.
  11. QUOTE(rventura23 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 02:32 PM) boone stinks, get him out I actually like what I see out of Boone to be honest. Thornton still worries me more then Logan. Boone is going to be solid this year for us.
  12. Cliff looks much better today, his slider is much closer to the plate then it was on sunday. Not saying he's going to get out of this but he looks better.
  13. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 02:29 PM) I knew I would be flamed for this, but what the heck. I am worried about our bullpen. We had one of the best in the game and there was NO NEED to do anything to it. I can understand trading Duque and Viz-can for Vasquez. But WHY trade away someone who was one of our best pitchers in the pen a year ago for Mackowiack? Especially with the question marks around Hermanson (injury), Jenks (too early to know how good he is/can be and he has had injury issues too in the past) and McCarthy (can he consistently pitch in the pen)? Damaso has a bs already too. Dam is done, he's got nothing upstairs.
  14. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 02:25 PM) It is a one run game, and with Travis Hafner on, he decides to sit McCarthy after one great inning to get Boone freaking Logan???? Yeah I understand the lefty-lefty matchup but come on Ozzie.......this was asking for trouble.....and the game is tied Kenny better find a way to improve this bullpen somewhere at the deadline. Or we are not going anywhere. Why was trading Marte for Mackowiack that important????? Ya, Marte would have came in, plunked Hafner and then let up a double to Martinez. Same f'n thing. I will agree though, I'm not exactly sure why Boone was in when Neal is ready to go but there is no need to make a new thread everytime the manager or someone on the team makes a mistake.
  15. Ok. I have nothing against Boone but our best reliever is kind of sitting in the pen and left handed.
  16. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 02:19 PM) What's that? Oh shut it jabroni.
  17. Wow. Paul goes right up the middle but because Belliard was on top of the base because of pods, it's a dp.
  18. Think right-center pauly. Don't pull off of it.
  19. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 02:14 PM) Ozzie just made the same mistake that Dusty Baker made last season. Whatever, Thome is hot but let Paul get another runner out there, just keep the f'n ball off the ground.
  20. QUOTE(rventura23 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 02:13 PM) pods doesnt have any stolen yet correct? hes hardly been on base That was his first time on base.
