  1. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 09:29 PM) I said it earlier, but I think getting out of Chicago is just what this team needs. That really is a good point. As much as Ozzie has been telling them to move on from last year, when every game begins with a tribute of some sort from the 05 season, it probably isn't the easiest thing to do.
  2. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 08:33 PM) give the season some time sure we missed some opportunities, but three games into the season who is to judge? if I remember correctly the yankees team(forget the year) that won around 110 games started 0-3 I for one am not the least bit concerned yet You were here last season, you should have come to expect this by now.
  3. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 04:27 PM) A couple of factors -- Ozzie has shown before that he likes bunting a runner to 2nd to get the runner in scoring position with 1 out. Also, maybe Podsednik's groin is still bothering him so Ozzie didn't want him straight stealing 2nd base. I'd like to hear why you think Iguchi was bunting for a hit by himself without Ozzie's sign? Sure seemed like a designed play to me. Because Ozzie did not call basically any bunt and runs last year. Pods was off stealing and got a huge jump, if it was a bunt and run he probably wouldn't have had that big of a jump. I'm starting to believe more and more it was gooch on his own though we won't know unless ozzie tells us.
  4. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 04:21 PM) I doubt Iguchi was bunting on his own. I'd like to hear why.
  5. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 04:22 PM) I can't believe how confident Mota and Wickman were to throw their pitches in the dirt with full-counts. Two key situations if Konerko and Mackowiak simply stood still they would have been on base--and I realize that's a simplistic way to look at it, but both instances were just TERRIBLE pitches. That pitch by Mota to Pauly was the best pitch of the game.
  6. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 04:18 PM) I still like the idea of JT first on the OBP principle...but that all assumes PK can get his head out of the ground within the first month or so of the season. If Ozzie wants to bunt with Iguchi btw, then Thome should be hitting 4th. The more and more I think about it, I believe that Gooch did that on his own.
  7. QUOTE(Harry&JimmyRocked @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 04:15 PM) and i'll be the first to say that if there was no rain delay, we get SWEPT Oh.
  8. I forgot how much I loved this place.
  9. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 04:09 PM) I hope we start just playing our regular players more than rotating them around. Not that it was the reason we lost today. Joe was sick.
  10. Wow, great hook. Rob in a tough position now.
  11. Paul is pulling off everything. He has to make himself think right field.
  12. Paul just doesn't look great up there right now, hopefully he can run into one.
  13. Phew. Come on paul.
  14. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 04:00 PM) Usually he doesnt, actually. Hopefully this will be one of the times he does though. I retract this actually. Last year he did give up a lot of homers, I believe throughout most of his career he didn't though. Sorry about that maggsmaggs.
  15. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 03:59 PM) Was it good for you too? Right when I wrote that, I knew someone would say something.
  16. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 03:59 PM) Wicky gives up plenty of gopher balls. Take his 90 MPH fastball and frickin hit it. Usually he doesnt, actually. Hopefully this will be one of the times he does though.
  17. Hopefully Wick pitches like he did against us game 2 last year. Ball was on a T, hope we get that guy again.
  18. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 03:57 PM) How was Jenk's velocity No gun.
  19. F'n huge BJ Now let the meat of the order take care of their fatass.
  20. Blah. 2 run game on this pitch.
  21. COME ON BOBBY. We need to get out of this. Gooch, JT, and Paul can get 1 off wickman.
  22. QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 03:53 PM) Ummm no. Unbelievable the bandwagoning going on here within the first couple games. I'm sure everyone will be back to bowing down to him when he gets his 4 sb game. But yeah, go ahead and blame these past 2 games on Pods. To be fair to fathom, he's never liked pods. I totally disagree with him but he's had the same opinion about scotty since day 1.
  23. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 03:51 PM) Earlier in the game, Ozzie had Iguchi lay down a sac bunt. So Wedge just IBB'ed Thome to get to Konerko. And then Konerko GIDP'ed. That was Dusty-esque. This hasn't been mentioned yet but there is a good chance Gooch was bunting on his own because scotty was running. I guess it could have been a bunt and run but Ozzie didn't do a whole bunch of those last year.
