QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 06:45 PM) Pods CS. I think that's the 3rd time in a row. Ya, cause of the one where he overslid 2nd. A few times this season he goes into a bit of a stolen base slump then gets out of it and goes on a huge streak without getting caught.

QUOTE(AirScott @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 06:36 PM) probably figured he had no chance. I'd have liked to see him try, though, because Matt Stairs' speed rivals Konerko. He didn't have a chance, if he throws that ball there is a good chance it ends up down the right field line.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 06:32 PM) They have to change his pre-game routine. This is getting ridiculous. There shouldn't be a problem every game. I say have AJ just slap the hell out of him right before he takes the mound.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 06:25 PM) What's the over/under for runs allowed by Freddy in the bottom of the 1st? 2 seems like a good number for that.

QUOTE(CYGarland @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 06:10 PM) To be honest w/ you i wouldn't be surprised if we get SHO by Greinke, especially after our pathetic performance against Miller on saturday. Both guys are very similar, low 90's heaters, big 12-6 curveballs Good call on that one.

QUOTE(UofIChiSox @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 05:44 PM) Looking at that lineup, I'm pretty surprised that AJ is still hitting just .245, isn't he a career .300 hitter? I guess I thought that his average would start climbing later in the season but it really hasn't yet. Despite the low average, he has definitely been huge for the team this year though. He's been hitting the ball much better lately, I wouldn't be surprised to see him take off soon.

QUOTE(Tadahito15 @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 03:17 PM) Isnt Wagner off the market now??? QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 03:18 PM) Wagner is off the block. The White Sox would only trade PK for Thome and that won't be happening, I guarentee. I see no deal, even with the Marlins happening. That's been said but that's because the Phillies want to buy and not sell. If they have a chance at Burnett and Wagner has to be part of the deal they'd definitely think of it.

QUOTE(That funky motion @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 03:13 PM) I dont think you want to take Politte out of his normal role. That's how I feel. If and only if Hermanson's back really is serious and he might miss some serious time then yes this would be a good series to try and get Bobby's feet wet as a closer. Cliff's been to damn good in the setup role to try and make him a closer.

QUOTE(Wedge @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 01:40 PM) Question time: Is Damaso Marte better, worse, or the same as Eddie Guardado? As for right now he's worse.

The AJ Burnett 24 Hour Window Thread
That's why numbers lie with Damaso. They probably look at his stats and think he's been awesome this year, which he hasn't. This whole thing sounds like it's close to being done as of right now but these deals do fall apart all the time. Just a few days ago it looked like Baltimore had the Burnett sweepstakes all wrapped up.

The AJ Burnett 24 Hour Window Thread
There is a story in a Florida paper that says the Marlins have focused their attention soley on the White Sox for AJB.
