QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 06:56 PM) So who thinks that it's humanly possible for a pitcher to get past Ramirez and Tejada with RISP and no runs scoring? Me.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 06:42 PM) Remember when they were pimping the Hulk a few years ago? Its always the bad summer comic book movie for the All Star game. (even though I liked the Hulk, most people didnt ) The people I went with liked it, I couldn't stand it.

If they let Buehrle start this game at 7 and let him finish it, it'd be over by now

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 06:25 PM) I dare you to find a more powerful man than Pujols. That man hits homeruns that would be weak fly balls on the back of the infield by any other man. Off his bat balls never look like they're going out of the park and then they're 400 feet away from home plate, it's crazy.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 06:12 PM) Jeannie Zalasko just cut off Ernie Harwell while he was talking, it was so rude I cannot believe it. All I can think of is Sinatra being cut off during his lifetime achievement award. This wasnt that bad, but quite rude. BTW, Harwell looks and sounds fantastic. Same thing I was thinking, I can't believe she did that.

Willie preparing to be demoted
QUOTE(That funky motion @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 05:20 PM) Willie Harris is reportedly preparing to be demoted to the minor leagues after the All-Star break. The White Sox are facing several roster decisions with players like Ross Gload and Damaso Marte ready to come off the disabled list. Jul. 11 - 8:00 am et Source: Chicago Tribune I'm mixed on this. Willie has really soured on me because it seems his head isn't into the game, that being said he's a very valuable player because of his pinch running capabilities and his defensive ability. EDIT: By the way, I'm absolutely thrilled to have Ross back, I've been waiting for his return for a while. We're getting some awesome in season additions with Ross, Dam, and the Duke.

TRADE THREAD III ~July 9 - July 15
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 04:33 PM) As a matter of fact I didn't have to pay for college because I played sports. Your point. I was just asking because I've been on teams I absolutely hated and teams I absolutely loved. When you're on a team you like there is an extra added something that really can't be described in words. Obviously you're going to play your best whether you like your team or not but from experience you'll probably play a little better playing with teammates you like.

TRADE THREAD III ~July 9 - July 15
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 04:25 PM) Chemistry is a bunch of BS someone once made up when there was no statistical explanation as to why a team was winning. Now every time a team does well, they have great "chemistry". There are plenty of teams who hated each other and still won, and there are a lot of teams that hung out everywhere together and loved each other but still sucked. Teams that pitch and field the best, and get the timely hits, Hawk's best line is don't tell me what you hit, tell me when you hit it, wins the game. For years Frank Thomas couldn't get a hit to save his life in a 1 run game, but if the score was 10-2 he was going deep. He has changed that around the last couple of years, and has a few teammates that can get a big hit when the game's on the line, something this team has lacked for a few years. Any top quality pitcher would be an solid addition to this team, whether he is the greatest guy in the world or the biggest jerk. Have you played sports before?
