  1. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 14, 2013 -> 12:15 PM) Talk about the way back machine...I was at U of I when they lost, and I remember writing the best away message in the history of away messages, just ripping the Cubs and all the bandwagon, dbag fans around campus for the past couple weeks. Seriously, 50%-60% of people going to class were wearing some sort of blue. Sororities ordered t-shirts. Bars had playoff logo glasses ordered It was the worst thing ever. My away message was the biggest, best "f*** off" ever. I wish I still had it. I couldn't care less about the Cubs now but that season at the time made me despise everything about them and their fans. That October sucked until that game.
  2. I actually completely disagree with you guys, I feel like now a days almost all the Bartman blame is gone.
  3. Trading Chris Sale would have to net the best package of prospects that's ever been traded before.
  4. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Oct 14, 2013 -> 07:25 AM) Gotta love playing two guys who throw up a goose egg in one league (Shorts, Graham) and two guys who get hurt and have to leave the game early in the other (Cobb, Schaub). This was probably the worst luck I've ever had in any one week of fantasy football in a long, long time. Man, I thought starting Tom Brady sucked.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 14, 2013 -> 06:55 AM) Unfortunately no one has an outs on bases stat that is sortable. BR has it for individual players. De Aza had 19 outs on the bases this year (OOB+CS) vs the 20 SBs he had. 11 of those were baserunning mistakes that were not deemed as CS's. For contrast Ramirez in his 30 steals, had 15 outs on the bases this year, 6 of which weren't CS's. Alex Rios had 5 OOB this year that weren't CS's. Yes De Aza had as many outs on the bases (not including CS's) as two of the biggest idiots in baseball combined in Rios and Ramirez. Again, any baserunning stat that tells me De Aza was a good baserunner has problems. I'm sure the stat that was posted takes all that into consideration.
  6. I'm down 14.8 with Gates going tonight. With the way this season has been going he'll get 12-14 and I'll fall to 2-4 with the 2nd most points in the league
  7. QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Oct 13, 2013 -> 09:59 AM) Sproles @ NE or FJax vs. CIN? PPR?
  8. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 13, 2013 -> 09:46 AM) Sigh. I wish I could. My backup is cutler. I don't have a back up. I'm stuck with Brady...f***in Gronk.
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 12, 2013 -> 11:55 PM) Except for all the reasons that team fell apart two years ago and then under Valentine...85-90% of them fall on Theo's shoulders. This year's creation is almost all on Cherington/John Henry. How are you not understanding this?
  10. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 12, 2013 -> 02:52 PM) ? Rose not playing tonight, left knee soreness. "Precautionary" but uh oh.
  11. Pretty sure Beltran is just a joke.
  12. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 11, 2013 -> 11:21 PM) English? He almost missed the tag in the 10th. Slowing it down a million times it does look like his glove caught the elbow but there's definitely a possibility that he completely missed.
  13. Yadi almost whiff sticked that tag.
  14. Beckham just regressed back towards the mean, it wasn't the injury that was messing with him and there's no reason for me to think otherwise.
  15. There's so many different Cardinal fans articles going around right now, it's pretty funny. I personally think almost all fan bases are the same. They all have their morons and their reasonable fans, it's just the ones that you encounter that sway your opinion.
  16. Hopefully they just lock AP and Joseph Patterson in a room and let AP take care of it. How f***in awful.
  17. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 11, 2013 -> 02:04 PM) DeAza - CF Beckham - 2B Ramirez - SS Dunn - DH Garcia - RF Viciedo - 1B F/A/Rookie - LF Semien - 3B Phegley - C So we're basically just going to stay put?
  18. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 11, 2013 -> 09:41 AM) I hope the Dodgers sweep them. Cardinals fans are insufferable. Any fanbase that describes itself as the best fans in a sport is just awful. Someone read the deadspin article.
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 11, 2013 -> 10:51 AM) I am not a Dunn hater by any stretch. He does hustle, and seems like a good teammate, but his performance in each year he has been in a White Sox uniform has been less than was expected when he signed his contract. And nobody is arguing that. You decided to argue that 2011 isn't a complete aberration when it clearly is, that's all Wite and I are saying.
  20. Andre Johnson is really starting to worry me. And Gronk still isn't cleared to play, WHAT THE f***
  21. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 11, 2013 -> 09:06 AM) Obviously facts won't stand in your way. The last 3 months of 2012, combined, he hit below .200 with an OBP below .300, and had to be held out of the final game so he wouldn't establish a record for striking out in a season. Last year in April, May and September his highest average was .165, and highest OBP was .250. That is half a season. While players do fluctuate, he is abnormally bad for extremely long periods of time. He was extremely good the other 3 months of 2013, so he obviously has or at least had something left. To think anyone being reasonable would be shocked if Adam Dunn was that bad again is a reach. The facts are in the last 2 full seasons he's come no where near that garbage year of 2011. You can cherry pick stats all you want but the fact is 2011 was clearly a complete aberration.
  22. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Oct 11, 2013 -> 12:46 AM) IMO, complaining about not kicking the FG in the first is a little ridiculous. You're facing an 0-5 team. You have the ball at the 2 and it's your first drive of the game. With the confidence Trestman has in the offense, why not go for it? If you score, it's instant demoralization for the Giants. If you don't score, you still have the Giants pinned deep in their own zone. Even if you screw it up to the point that you turn the ball over, the absolute worst case scenario is some horrible turnover that goes 98+ yards the other way, and the chances of that are very slim. I was totally on board with going for it. The problem was the play calling on the first 3 downs. The Bears ran like 20 million draws in the redzone yesterday and I don't think one of them went for more than a yard.
