  1. QUOTE (ICP! @ Jul 23, 2010 -> 08:08 AM) A trade for Fielder today would be right what the doctor ordered. I just need some kind of big splash to get the juices flowing. Kenny, just make a balls out move dude. You know you have it in you. Prince has the potential to become a mega star in Chicago. You really want to deal with the disaster of not having a 5th starter again?
  2. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 23, 2010 -> 12:43 AM) PG Rose/Watson SG Brewer SF Deng/Korver/Johnson PF Boozer/Gibson C Noah/Thomas/Asik For missing out on the big 3, the Bulls have seriously done an outstanding job of putting this team together. I would love to add one more shooter that can play the 2 off the bench and I'd be quite happy. I'm really starting to love the make up of this squad.
  3. Huddy is untouchable at this point imo.
  4. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 21, 2010 -> 11:20 PM) Why the hell do they need to go with a committee. They have a guy with closer experience, great stuff, and sick numbers this year. Hopefully not naming Putz the closer isn't just one of the Ozzie says something, and then immediately puts Bobby in the next save situation to prove a point. We have had people lose their jobs over performance for all of what 10 minutes before they are put back in the role. Putz should be the closer. End of Line. Putz is too damn valuable to have him just closing games at this point. If he's available in the 9th inning then he better be getting the ball, but if there's 2 on in the bottom of the 7th and Miguel Cabrera is at the plate then JJ needs to be used in that situation. Closer by committee is the way to go, not because Putz hasn't earned the opportunity to be the closer but for the fact he's just too good to only use him to close games.
  5. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Jul 16, 2010 -> 12:01 PM) That argument is weak, is based on pure superstition, and doesn't hold any water IMO It's not based on superstition, it's based on the fact that batting lower in the lineup might be relieving some of the pressure from him and helping him get back into a groove. If he continues to hit like this for a few more weeks then you think about putting him back up there but for now, leave him as is.
  6. No biggy. At least when we sweep the World Series this year we can win it at home.
  7. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 13, 2010 -> 02:48 PM) Korver just had his press conference. He said he as in contact with Boozer previous to signing and that he has been texting Ronnie Brewer to come and play in Chicago. He jokingly said "Were trying to start the Chicago Jazz." If we do get Redick, the last 2 pieces I'd like to see the Bulls add are a backup PG (Livingston) and a defensive/athletic 2 guard (Brewer). PG - Rose/Livingston SG - Redick/Brewer SF - Deng/Korver/Johnson PF - Boozer/Gibson C - Noah/Asik That'd be a really, really good team.
  8. 2 weeks isn't enough to prove to me that Beckham is back and certainly not enough to throw him in the 2 hole again. Leave him where is and hope he's actually starting to get back on track as a major league player and not just having a hot 2 week stretch before he goes back into a funk.
  9. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 08:11 PM) I still like the derby but it just takes so dang long. Skip the second round. Everyone hits, top 2 advance to finals with a clean slate. I watched the first part of it cause I'm in a homerun derby pool. Once Cabrera was eliminated, I changed the station. I guess I just can't get into it.
  10. The homerun derby seriously bores the hell out of me.
  11. It's really hard to beat opening day.
  12. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 12:38 PM) even if it's been posted before, I find it hilarious still Hahaha, awesome.
  13. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 12:34 PM) Bulls werent getting Melo in FA. And I disagree with the assertion that a star is what they need to combat the Miami threesome. I think the Bulls needed players who can spread the floor on offense to take advantage of individual match ups. If a defender has to stand in a corner to cover a 3 point shooter, it gives Rose/Booze Cruise more room to work in the lane. Offense certainly isn't going to be this teams problem, we're going to score some points.
  14. Rose's stats are going to be absurd this season.
  15. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 07:45 PM) It's hard to believe. Let's hope the All Star Break doesn't cool the guys off, and the next month is as good as the last month was. Might as well just go 30-0 in our next 30. It is fun to just look at the standings right now.
  16. God has this been a fun ride. f***in awesome!
  17. f***in allstar break, this guy is insane right now.
  18. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 05:27 PM) I actually thought Matt Barnes would have been a better target for the Bulls than Korver if they were after a 3, he would have brought a little more toughness at least. Not even close to the shooter that Korver is. I'm thinking the Bulls wanted an absolute sniper and then look for a defensive minded 2, to round out the lineup.
  19. Love the Korver signing(as Brian said, still hate Crieghton though ) as it definitely fills a need, we still need a defensive minded guard badly though.
  20. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 03:30 PM) I don't give a damn about advanced statistics in this case. If there's 10 seconds left in the game and I need a basket to win, I'm givin' the rock to Kobe 10 times outta 10 over Lebron. Anybody who says otherwise needs to quit watching basketball and take up Lacrosse as a hobby or something. Seconded.
  21. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 02:51 PM) via I heard that on ESPN. f***in hilarious.
  22. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 02:45 PM) Where did you pick this up? Just about every game on national tv? I mean, you don't have to be a genius to know that any opportunity a network can get to put Miami on national television, they're going to jump at.
  23. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 02:48 PM) Retherford is a man without a position, he's a sub-par defender everywhere on the field, and probably a utility man if he makes the majors. There are also some makeup questions about him, and his attitude. Torres is just not nearly the prospect McAllister is, without even getting into the age discussion. Torres is a nice guy to have in the system, but nothing terribly special. Best case he's a back of the rotation starter for a weak team, more likely he's a long or middle reliever. I just saw K's post, and yeah, Flowers is not only much older and slower to develop, but also I believe Montero is considered a defensive wizard, and I don't think Flowers is anything like that. He's not, he's just like Tyler when it comes to that.
  24. QUOTE (pktmotion @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 02:34 PM) Very similar trade packages; only thing is NYY prospects are ridiculously overvalued. Well there you go, there's my rebuttal. Stats aren't even close to the end all when it comes to prospects. No matter how you look at it, Montero is considered one of the better prospects in all of baseball and while Flowers is considered a solid spect, he's no where close to the level that Montero is at. It's that simple really, Montero is an elite spect and Tyler isn't. Not to mention, CJ and Torres really aren't prospects at all.
