QUOTE (docsox24 @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 10:45 AM) dont worry Coming from you, that means a lot. So good to hear.

Love to see who we gave up. Not thrilled about this move at all but he's definitely better than the options we had. Better not have gave up much.

QUOTE (longshot7 @ Dec 14, 2009 -> 03:24 PM) I'm predicting Carlos Delgado. Delgado hates Chicago.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 10, 2009 -> 10:56 PM) The idea is actually growing on me. Gardner has displayed some ability to draw a walk, has some speed, and can actually use that speed on the bases. I haven't seen picked off numbers at all, but he seems like a very good buy low candidate. I want nothing to do with him as the opening day CFer, but I don't think it's impossible for him to put up .280/.360/.380 over a full season. My main problem, as was with the Erstad signing, is that Gardner would be thrust into the CF and leadoff (or #2) position immediately, rather than actually playing him to the role that he needs to be played (which would be the backup outfielder role). You wouldn't take those numbers from a leadoff hitter at this point? I know I certainly would. A move like this would make a lot of sense to me.

If he's healthy I'd be thrilled to have him.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 4, 2009 -> 07:10 AM) Is there more than one team in the Valley that could survive a B10 schedule? Yes. And in the last 4 years the Valley has finished above at least one power conference in the rpi twice, so lets not pretend the Valley is some s***ty conference here or even "mediocre," it's a pretty solid conference. But I know, I know, the Valley has some how figured out the rpi formula and that's the only reason some thing like that could possibly happen. And if some of us have "little man syndrome" it's because some of you guys need to get off your damn high horse. Saying only one team from the Valley could survive in the b10 is ridiculous or saying that Illinois State would only have a 1 percent chance of beating Illinois is absolutely insane. Not saying the Valley is better than b10 because it isn't but some of you guys think your league is sooooooo much f***ing better just cause it's the big 10 and just because the Valley is a "mid major" league. -

QUOTE (danman31 @ Dec 1, 2009 -> 10:38 PM) Yeah, Drew has some potential. I love Denise so it's big that she's getting a bigger role. It would be nice if they brought back Jordan for some episodes. She's a good character and it looks like they will need the help in the short run. I didn't care for the first episode, but the 2nd one was pretty solid. Agreed on Denise. I actually like the first episode and didn't care for the 2nd one that much. Going to be hard having Scrubs with out the Janitor.

I'd like to thank spike for spoiling tonights show for me. I had to watch the replay tonight and spike already had the final being advertised, that was just great.

Who you guys got tonight: Alcorn State or Kansas? The Braves are off to a very impressive 0-9 start with their closest loss coming by 15 points. This could be a tough one for Jimbo's Jayhawks. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 08:09 AM) Wouldn't this be the ultimate definition of "sell high"? With the sporadic nature of relievers, is a better bet that he comes back in form, or that he has an off year? Matt's one of the few relievers in the game who isn't sporadic which makes him so valuable. Trading him is a terrible idea at the moment.

Adding Vlad as our dh just makes a ton of sense to me.

QUOTE (balfanman @ Dec 1, 2009 -> 01:36 PM) Just a matter of semantics I guess, but I would consider Upton a huge move. Agreed.

QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 30, 2009 -> 11:19 PM) This is how I see Chicago sports relevance/success over the next 2 years: 1. Blackhawks 2. Cubs 2. Sox 4. Bulls 5. Bears Cubs and Sox tied at 2. It all depends on what bats that KW can acquire. That Cubs team is in shambles right now. I don't know exactly what you mean by relevant but success wise the Cubs are going to take quite a dip imo. And the Bulls will be just fine, they obviously have a ton of flaws right now but they have a nice little core to build around, unlike the Bears. -
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 30, 2009 -> 09:16 PM) If Crede could return I'd be terrified to have that back at third. Fixed.

We should just always draft the way we did in 08.

What an absolutely lackluster, pathetic game for about 36 minutes tonight, at least we played well for 4 minutes or so. -

What a garbage first half. The players, coaching and officiating were all complete trash in that half. What a suck fest. -
QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 28, 2009 -> 01:12 PM) Perhaps he was told to say that by his lawyer. These guys were probably thinking that Congress was "railroading" them. Making them look bad in the court of public opinion, so they played it straight and refused to "narc" on each other. Until a positive test shows up, like in Bonds' or Palmeiro's case, I see no direct reason to deny McGwire. If he didn't roid there would be absolutely no reason for him to plead the 5th, none.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Nov 28, 2009 -> 05:46 PM) They would have because the Fiesta Bowl wanted to take a BCS eligible Big 12 team. They would have taken them over Boise, not Iowa or Penn State. Good. Boise belongs in a bcs bowl. -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 28, 2009 -> 05:38 PM) We gave them a good game, last year they would of been blasted after UNLV made that run to take the lead. Fay and Dillard had off games, Booker injured his hip and Freeman hurt himself as well, they stood tough on a tough road game. They need to take UIC tonite. Ya, the health is a concern right now, everyone is banged up it seems and J.Freeman and Book didn't practice much this week. I'm hoping we just run UIC out of the gym tonight. -

UNLV takes down Louisville. Makes me feel a tad better about losing to them, but damn that would have been a nice win.
