  1. QUOTE (kev211 @ Dec 24, 2009 -> 02:30 PM) QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Dec 24, 2009 -> 04:31 PM) Either of you guys going to the game on the 3rd?
  2. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 24, 2009 -> 10:48 AM) And yea, the Rally Crede works in mysterious ways. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 24, 2009 -> 10:57 AM) Amen Amen
  3. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 24, 2009 -> 11:42 AM) Did you use the quotes? Yup. Tried with and with out and nothing.
  4. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Dec 24, 2009 -> 09:56 AM) It happened when I googled rally crede. How can you not believe? Didn't when I googled it. I'm confused.
  5. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 24, 2009 -> 12:00 AM) Hmmm... so I guess Thornton somehow died last year, but somehow is relevant this year eh? Coop fixed him.
  6. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 24, 2009 -> 07:38 AM) I dont know about you guys, but I was really nervous going into the first game vs Boston, but once they brought out the whoopin stick, I kind of had this feeling of euphoria throughout the rest of the playoffs and world series. It was like it made sense to me that they were supposed to, and were going to win. I cant explain it, but when things happened(like Buehrle saving game 3, Konerkos Grand Slam, Credes GW double, Pods Walkoff) it felt like it was supposed to happen and I wasnt so much surprised as I was elated. Such an awesome season I think that first inning went a long way in relaxing both the players and the fans. I know personally, I really did believe the Sox were the best team in baseball that year but I had no idea how they were going to react in the playoffs. We had a lot of guys with limited or no playoff experience and we were playing the defending champs and nobody was really giving us a shot. Once that first inning came along you knew they were ready to go and not intimidated at all.
  7. Nice to see the Valley win the inaugural MVC-MWC challenge.
  8. QUOTE (scenario @ Dec 24, 2009 -> 01:57 AM) Both worthy but... nope. Pods and AJ or Pods and Konerko would be my guesses. Leaning towards Pods and PK.
  9. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Dec 23, 2009 -> 04:47 PM) Harsh. So why do I get the feeling that you're going to get drunk tonight and proceed to play in the snow in shorts?
  10. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 23, 2009 -> 04:40 PM) Two of my favorite AJ moments mentioned..... There's just something great about his walkoff against the Dodgers, then the bat flip.... I think that's when a lot of people started to realize that team could be special. Not to mention the re-birth of "go go white sox."
  11. Have a good one, dude!
  12. Hopefully we can face him in the playoffs. It'd be nice to have an automatic win. And I can't believe anyone would call him a "great" or "excellent" pitcher, get out of here with that non sense.
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 22, 2009 -> 04:40 PM) We are #2. Gavin-Danks-Garcia is better than Pettitte-Joba-Huges. Joba ruins bullpens because he can only pitch half games and Hughes should stay in the pen. Pettitte is a good #4 IMO. The Red Sox are the only team that is clearly better especially 1-3. Beckett-Lackey-Lester is pretty f***ing good. Nobody's rotation is clearly better than us. I'd definitely accept the argument that the Red Sox and Braves have better rotations than we do but you can make an argument that ours is the number 1 in baseball as well.
  14. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 22, 2009 -> 01:15 AM) God bless Peter Tomarken... Hey SS2k5, check this little nugget out. I was not aware of this: Michael Larson "cheats" Press Your Luck Ya, I saw a documentary on that dude before. Interesting stuff and I used to watch that show(and the reincarnated version "whammy") all the time on GSN.
  15. QUOTE (striker @ Dec 21, 2009 -> 02:24 PM) I'm not sure if you have to worry about the average fans backlash if Pods doesn't come back. If this message board is the average fan than I think alot of people didn't want him back in the first place. The average fan was happy to see him go. Those fans that are upset that Pods isn't returning, won't even remember Pods after the season actually starts. The average poster around here though isn't the average fan.

    QUOTE (Tex @ Dec 21, 2009 -> 12:59 PM) gotta make the last basket before stopping Ya, that's another one for me. Jeez, I didn't realize how OCD I really was 'til I read this thread.
  17. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 21, 2009 -> 01:43 PM) Hell, remember the year we had Loaiza put up Cy young numbers and Colon/Buehrle in the rotation. Geeze those early 2000 teams underperformed like no tomorrow under Jerry Manuel. So much freaking talent. I would have never got over 2003 if it wasn't for 2005. That 03 team should have won the WS.

    QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Dec 21, 2009 -> 12:12 PM) I also always press the lock button for my car door with the electronic thing 4 or 5 times everytime I want to lock my car. Ditto.
  19. But anyways, here's my personal list: 1. Final out of the WS 2. Pods walk off 3. El Duque's inning 4. Blum's homer 5. Konerko's granny 6. Juan's catch 7. Mark's perfect game 8. Crede's walk off against the Indians 9. Jenks and Cotts blowing away the Astros in the 8th inning of game 1 10. 1st inning of game 1 against Boston. Hard to keep game 163 off there but every moment of 05 just triumphs almost everything for me.
  20. For me personally, the only moment I could list outside of 05 is Mark's perfect game.

    QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Dec 21, 2009 -> 12:43 PM) Also pat pockets constantly checking on wallet and keys. This is probably my main one. Pretty much anytime I get up to move I check to make sure I got my wallet in my right pocket and cellphone/keys in my left. Also do the re-checking of the alarm and putting my money in my wallet in order of value.
  22. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 20, 2009 -> 08:15 PM) I know what you're saying. Who and what are we? Right now, we're seemingly a team who plays like garbage for the majority of a game and mans up when we need to. Oh ya, and we have the best player on the court no matter what when Kevin is out there. He's just ridiculous, as a sophomore... We need to stop this crap though, there is absolutely no reason for this. Don't get me wrong, I'm f***in ecstatic we've gotten these wins but we're a lot more talented than these f***ers, this shouldn't be happening. Oh ya, and we need to get healthy. Having 7 healthy scholarship players right now is rough.
  23. What the f*** man. I hate this team. I really f***in hate this team. I love you Kevin Dillard. Another terrible performance and another win. Ridiculous. 9 days off now to get healthy for Valley play.
  24. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Dec 20, 2009 -> 01:32 PM) Happened with Buehrle in '05...albeit in odd circumstances I'll admit. Maybe an end of World Series situation. Here's hopin'. Fair enough. I thought you were talking about the Sox going to a 3 man rotation with Danks coming out of the pen. That wont happen.
