  1. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Feb 14, 2010 -> 04:05 PM) Hell yeah. Couple huge wins lately. Setting us up nicely to lose in another mvc tourney championship. Anybody else going to the tourney this year? I'll be there.
  2. That dunk contest was brutal. Seriously, at this point the best way to do the dunk contest might be to just keep raising the hoop and see who can actually dunk on the highest rim.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 14, 2010 -> 07:34 AM) It's V-day. I'm single after getting my life force sucked outta me about a month ago. There's no sports going on (the all-star game sucks). I might just get alcohol poisoning today. So I'm with ya!
  4. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 13, 2010 -> 05:13 PM) Do we really have the worst farm system, or is that just according to Keith Law. Just according to Keith Law. The only way that's even remotely true is if you're not counting Huddy and Flowers as prospects. But according to Law, Huddy didn't get passed a ball last season so he might not matter.
  5. QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Feb 14, 2010 -> 02:10 AM) Haha we still looked absolutely horrendous. I've figured out that we only run 3 plays. 1. The Freeman Circle: Tony Freeman runs around until he's open while the other 4 players stand and stare 2. The Dillard Dribble: KD dribbles the ball around finds a bad shot and takes it, or he makes a bad pass and turns it over. 3. The Teague: (the only one that works well) Give Teague the ball and let him score or get stripped Ha, you described our offense so well. Wow that's pathetic actually looking at that. I will say though that I was shocked to see KD scored 14 today. Remember when he was good?

Well I'm starting to sober up but this is the 2nd straight week I almost beat the s*** out of my roommate, the only reason I haven't is because he is my roommate. Anywho, I ain't got s*** to do tomorrow so I think it's time to start drinking again. Whose with me?
  7. QUOTE (lostfan @ Feb 13, 2010 -> 11:36 AM) Granted, your DH might not be able to play defense That's why he's a designated hitter. I just don't understand what some people don't understand about that(not talking about you lost) but not signing a player to dh because he can't play the field is beyond stupid.
  8. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Feb 12, 2010 -> 05:22 PM) Why cant we just find a freakin good hitter who cant play the field, stick him at DH, then have a good bench so that if people need a rest its no big deal. Geesh, you dont need a rotating DH to keep people fresh. A platoon of a very strong RHP hitter and another of a LHP hitter is fine with me, but Kotsay and Jones arent exactly what I would be looking for. Woah that's a crazy concept.
  9. QUOTE (shakes @ Feb 12, 2010 -> 02:58 PM) Some just can't let go of the idea that a DH should be lumbering power hitter that can't play the field anymore. I agree, we should bring Frank back out of retirement, dude was a gold glover at the designated hitter position.
  10. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Feb 12, 2010 -> 12:45 PM) No, I mean the guy that led the league in getting thrown off the team. I love how your Sox DH rotation never includes Konerko, Quentin, Nix or AJ. It really builds your case. Because if one of those guys dh's that means one of the bench players is still in the lineup, so no they don't count. We have a potential real special starting rotation, yet we have one glaring weakness on this team that could have been settled for at most about 5 million and for as little as 2 million if we just re-signed Thome. I'm one of the biggest KW fans around but this rotation dh crap is f***in stupid when we could have fixed it for so little money.
  11. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 12, 2010 -> 11:12 AM) I like the idea of rotating Damon and Jones at DH, and giving Damon further at bats by playing in the OF. I still think Jones will have a good year. But if you sign Damon, you should try to get him 400+ at bats, most at DH. As long as he's not hurt, should be closer to 600 than 400. If we do sign him, he right away becomes one of our best hitters and if Jones needs a day in the lineup then Pierre should be the one doing the sitting, not Damon.
  12. I don't know any good places in the burbs but I do know that this thread just reminded me how badly I can't wait to get to the Cell and have a brat. Yummy.
  13. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Feb 12, 2010 -> 12:05 AM) Robbie was snubbed for non-baseball related issues (John Hirschbeck, this is also why Kent only has a 70% shot at 1st ballot induction IMO, well that and his defensive inadequacies), Craig Biggio has one of the cleanest reputations of any player in the game's history, his numbers are more than hall worthy and there's never been an inkling of steroid abuse (this should easily put him over the hump while going up against some of the biggest roiders of all time, Biggio's induction would be a statement.) Fair enough. Just still bothers me that Robbie didn't get in.
  14. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Feb 11, 2010 -> 11:56 PM) I'm already looking forward to my trip to Cooperstown in 2014. Problem is . . . other players up for election in 2014: Maddux (lock), Glavine (lock), Kent (70/30 at 1st ballot) and Mussina (outside chance at the hall, next to no chance at 1st ballot induction). Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Curt Schilling, Sammy Sosa and Kenny Lofton should be on their second go round after failing to be inducted in 2013. (Biggio and Piazza are near locks as first balloters in 2013) You think Biggio is a lock for the first ballot with Robbie getting snubbed this year? But anyways, it's amazing to just look at some of the numbers this man put up in the 90's. You can only just say "Wow."
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 11, 2010 -> 09:27 PM) To whomever unstuck us again, I hope you enjoy HELL! Wasn't me but it was my idea to unpin some of the threads. So you guys got the boot apparently. Har har har.
  16. I hear SHIPPS loves Lamp. Happy bday man.
  17. QUOTE (greasywheels121 @ Feb 11, 2010 -> 08:19 PM) Forever my favorite player. Congratulations on a fantastic career, Frank. Was waiting for you to chime in. Started crying yet?
  18. Bye bye Frank. Thanks for everything. Dude seriously might be the most underrated player of all time. :notworthy
  19. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 11, 2010 -> 07:38 PM) If "Beer Pong" was a winter event, you'd be more into it. Hell, that's a great idea. Maybe I'd get to participate in the olympics than.
  20. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Feb 11, 2010 -> 07:33 PM) America, f*** yeah. This^^^. I really couldn't care less about most of the sports in the olympics(besides Hockey) but I'll be watching to cheer on the good ol' US of A.
  21. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Feb 11, 2010 -> 06:58 PM) Heyman seems to agree, he just mentioned that the Tigers' offer may be north of $14M over 2 years but that Damon may prefer a 1 year deal. If it's just 1 year than overpay like crazy if need be. I've said this a billion times but this is the one remaining hole we have left on this ball club and he quite possibly could be the missing link to a championship(and yes I'm serious about this). As long as it's not going to hurt us in the future, which a 1 year contract wouldn't, then overpay if need be.
  22. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Feb 11, 2010 -> 03:45 PM) How the hell wouldn't Damon fit Guillen's lineup. He does a lot of things that Ozzie wants from his hitters. Yeup and having Damon in front of Becks compared to Pierre in front of Gordo will make a HUGE difference.
  23. Man, I love JD for everything he did here but god damn he sure has whined a lot about the so called crowded outfield.
  24. I'd easily throw 2/14 at Damon. I'm sure it wont happen though.
  25. QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Feb 11, 2010 -> 12:52 PM) Why do i still watch our games? I keep asking myself the same question. We know exactly how every game is going to end.
