White Sox @ Rays 6:10pm CSN+
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 29, 2008 -> 07:26 PM) Does it seem to anyone else like our opponents are piling up the errors lately? Definitely does. When we're actually good we seem to get some of these breaks. Lets make 'em pay!

DLS had elbow surgery
QUOTE (north side chi sox fan @ May 29, 2008 -> 01:45 PM) Ryan Sweeney has that nice lookings .293 average and .353 on base percentage. I wonder if he will develope any power..... Slugging just barely over .400 I kind of doubt it at this point. We've been waiting for him to develop power for a while and it just hasn't happened(and yes I know he's still very young). He'll be a solid player but nothing special imo.

Uribe playing ss in Charlotte?
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 29, 2008 -> 11:18 AM) IIRC, there was a period in 2005 when Uribe was actually leading the league in sac flies. And he was definitely at his best in the super utility role in 04.

Uribe playing ss in Charlotte?
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 29, 2008 -> 08:45 AM) Don't read too much into a rehab assignment. My guess is Uribe is our 2B and Ramirez is the utilityman again. Uribe has more power than Alexei and hits for about the same average. Alexei has my vote to stay with the big team though. Well, Ramirez has been playing very well since he's had regular at bats not to mention he just struggled adjusting to the major league game. Not saying Ramirez is the answer but he has an upside at this point which Uribe just doesn't.

It's Never too Early..............
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 28, 2008 -> 09:13 PM) The White Sox do NOT have an aging lineup, nor do they have no young talent and no end in sight in their lineup. Look at our roster next year. There are, by my count, 3 positions out of nine where we don't have a young guy that we could put in to the lineup if we chose not to upgrade. Catcher, 1b, and DH. We have 3+ young outfielders in SuperQ, Anderson, Swisher, and Owens if you want to count him. We have a young 3rd baseman in Fields. In the middle infield, we have Ramirez, Richar, and Getz who can all fill holes. On top of that, our starting rotation right now has 2 young guys, a 3rd pretty close to ready in Broadway, we've got a young closer, and we keep developing decent young relief pitchers in addition to the couple guys we signed. It's amazing how much the future of this organization looks completely different than it did last year. We have pieces and a few very good ones to build around now.

It's Never too Early..............
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 28, 2008 -> 09:43 PM) It's weird how this team has a reputation for being old when really they are just slow as hell. I don't think any major change should happen at all this season unless the team completely blows up. Adding a 2B should be the biggest thought that's even considered at this point in time. There's absolutely no reason for this team to have a major change. We're a tweak or two away imo...

It's Never too Early..............
A few weeks ago I would say a 2b is definite. At this point, I think we have to let Alexei play a little bit and see what we have there. If not a 2b then it couldn't hurt to find a lefty bat for the bench. Besides that I really think you just have to wait and hope that Thome, PK and Swish start to play like themselves.

QUOTE (daa84 @ May 27, 2008 -> 07:29 PM) there was a cornhole thread around here a year or two ago...and ill say now what i said then.....completely and utterly overrated i cant stand the tooldouches who take it as seriosuly as the other tooldouches who take beer pong so seriously.... while my family owns a set and i think it can be fun at times, i just dont quite get the love from so many people at a tailgate...if theres room i prefer a good ole fashion pigskin Don't ever rag on beer pong.

QUOTE (RME JICO @ May 27, 2008 -> 02:37 PM) Seattle is already 12.5 games out and would need a miracle to make the playoffs. I am sure they are open to offers (Lopez). Why would we want Jose Jopez?

Pitching great, CQ is the man. Might as well just copy and paste that into every winner thread.- Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim @ Chicago White Sox
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 25, 2008 -> 07:18 PM) I am speechless on how stupid that was. You have an offense that is struggling, you get into scoring position and then pull that stunt. Dumb. Now CQ has to bat with the bases open. Looks like he has to do everything again.- Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim @ Chicago White Sox

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 25, 2008 -> 07:11 PM) Morgan has brought up a very astute point regarding Jose Contreras telegraphing his fastball when he drops sidearm. 90% of the time that is all he's throwing from that arm slot and I'm surprised we haven't seen him throw more changeups out of that spot (to at least ensure hitters have to stay honest). For the most part he hasn't gotten too sidearm happy, but I've noticed it a bit more from him tonight. Luckily he's had pretty damn good command as well as velocity. He's really looking good. His forkball is just nasty again as well.- The Official [SCRUBS] Thread
