7/21 Games
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 02:13 AM) Boooooooone! has been solid since his initial hiccupp. I'm sure he'll probably be a September callup... Maybe he can start. Definitely nice to see Boone bounce back though. I think because of his delivery, that he'll have good enough stuff to be a decent loogy in this league.

Help me Calculate my GPA
Greg, you'll be absolutely fine with a 2.9 and a 29. You'll get into UIC and Loyola I can guarantee that and you should be fine with Depaul too. My high school counselor was no help either.

The Official, "What I did today thread"
QUOTE(dasox24 @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 02:02 AM) Woke up, got a haircut for first time in 3 months, got online, played soccer with some friends, played FIFA '06 with my new team, Liverpool, and dominated Man United. Pretty solid day since I didn't watch the Sox game... Seriously, how awesome is that game??? I'm obsessed.

2006 White Sox Catch-All Thread
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 01:05 AM) It was all the mullets. And morons. People cheering during the Rangers rally in the 6th(or 7th I don't remember which) because the wave was going around the park. Unacceptable.

You will never see a worse crowd than tonight. Embarrasing is the only way I can describe it.

Dontrelle Willis almost a White Sox?
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 21, 2006 -> 01:45 PM) Ugh, I'm completely torn when it comes to Willis. I think he'll be pretty damn bad about 3 years from now but he probably would dominate the AL for the rest of this season, throwing elbows and knees at people. I would NEVER, NEVER trade McCarthy for Willis, that would be a huge mistake and I just can't see a deal getting done without including McCarthy. ^^^ Dontrelle would more than likely be fantastic the rest of the year but I think you give him one year in the al and he starts to get knocked around. I'm not sure why, but I've never been totally sold on Dontrelle and I'm still not. IMO Bmac will be better than Willis and I don't want Mac or BA going anywhere.

7/20 Games
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jul 21, 2006 -> 12:22 AM) playing in Charlotte. 7 HRs at home. 1 on the road. True. He's definitely on a power surge though as of now, homers coming in bunches.

2006 Draft Recap: Rounds 1-10
Really appreciated guys. Awesome work.

Are 5.5 games surmountable?
As frusterating as this team is right now, if anyone thinks the AL Central race is over, well then you guys are nuts.

Joel Zumaya
Not at all. When you're playing the team that you're battling in the division with, you can show a little emotion late in a one run game.

Sox v. Tigers, Gamethread: Contreras v. Rogers, 12:05
QUOTE(Felix @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 01:45 PM) It was a strike. Balls and strikes are called where the ball went through the zone, not where it ended up. Thank you. None of us here knew that.

Sox v. Tigers, Gamethread: Contreras v. Rogers, 12:05
QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 01:42 PM) Actually, people have been pleasantly surprised with his defense this year. At least he has the ability to throw runners out on the bases. He gets horrible reads out there. You are right though, he has displayed a decent arm.

Sox v. Tigers, Gamethread: Contreras v. Rogers, 12:05
Rogers loves to dive out on the mound.

Sox v. Tigers, Gamethread: Contreras v. Rogers, 12:05
Easily Pablo's worst game of the year.
-
Sox v. Tigers, Gamethread: Contreras v. Rogers, 12:05
You know things are going bad on the bunting side of things when Pablo can't even get one down.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 12:04 AM) "The ERA is a personal figure, personal number. You can have 5 dynamite games and then 5 horsecrap games and now that number is gonna look sqewed. What's more important? That sqewed number or that W number?" - Don Cooper, White Sox Pitching Coach Wow, just wow. To be honest, he's probably just trying to stick up for his staff. I think he realizes they're pitching like spiff.

Ozzie needs to adjust his management of pitchers
QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 10:24 PM) I'm sick of this spiff, So awesome.

Ozzie needs to adjust his management of pitchers
QUOTE(Bonderman38 @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 09:23 PM) I don't think you can blame Ozzie for tonight. Javy had been absolutely dominating the Tigers all night, and it was only the 6th inning. It seems that Javy just implodes when he is in his big jams. Ozzie is to blame for something else tonight, not the pitching.

Lucas Harrell Interview
QUOTE(dasox24 @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 09:20 PM) Thanks, man. I guess I better stay away from Whisler, though... He's just getting over your spell. Don't even mention his name.

Ozzie needs to adjust his management of pitchers
QUOTE(daa84 @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 09:14 PM) this is a ring of bad luck IMO for vazquez...he hangs a breaker to monroe and its hit out...two batters later, he does it again to inge and its popped up...sabremetrically, vazquez actually has the best peripherals of any starter on our staff... Maybe Billy Beane can fix his brain.

Carl Crawford
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 09:13 PM) Never And he was the best baserunner I ever saw /hawk Until Mackowiak came along.
