  1. Jimmy has gotten better the 2 years Fred has been here as well. So once Fred got here that's when Jimmy started getting better on his own? Gage said yesterday that Niko has gotten better defensively so I guess that's on his own too. Marquis Teague was just the front office's fault I guess, not Thibs. I don't know, just seems like an easy way to blame Fred for player development. Like I said, if you think he's a bad coach then fine, I'm just not sure lack of player development is an actual thing here.
  2. Can I ask for the developing talent people what exactly that means to you guys in the NBA? Do we think like Niko's shot mechanics are wrong, maybe he dribbles funny? Did Doug run flat footed on the Bulls? If we want to say their system might not be the best fit for these players then I can at least buy that but I just don't think 'player development' is something a coaching staff in the NBA has that much ability to control.
  3. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 02:21 PM) Great as LeBron is, i'm just sick of him walking into the finals every year unchallenged for the most part. I REALLY wish the Wizards had traded for Cousins. I get that from a fans point of view. I wouldn't have faulted the Celtics either making a trade involving that Nets pick and Jaylen but I wouldn't have thought it was a good deal either.
  4. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 02:15 PM) Celtics are the real losers to me. Unless you really believe that all of Ball/Fulktz/Smith are high-level all-stars if not superstars in the future I don't get why you don't make a move. I really don't blame them for not wanting to give up that Nets pick, not with this year's draft.
  5. Niko and Doug and Portis and whoever else you want to throw in there are still going to be bad players when/if they get out of here, I'm pretty positive on that.
  6. Mixed tag matches always suck. Nobody would be complaining if it was Miz-Cena, that'd actually be pretty great. The build up will be fun but wasting those 2 in a mixed tag when they've been 2 of the best guys on the roster for the last however long is annoying.
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 22, 2017 -> 01:08 PM) Just so I understand, you couldn't care less? I could not.
  8. Y2HH I get why they're doing things, I don't want care to see it. I've been surprised how well people have responded to Greenberg and Orton and Bray but they have so I get it but I couldn't care less about any of it. Edit: and bray is super over right now everywhere so I don't agree with you there. I couldn't care less about him these days but others absolutely do.
  9. To me this is shaping up to be a lot worse than last year cause they have a full roster. Waste Styles, waste Cena, waste Miz, Goldberg/Brock is the ME. At least adding Luke to Bray-Randy makes that semi interesting. Overall just bad.
  10. Yup, one of the reasons him getting booed at Soxfest a few years back really bothered me. He's bad though, like real bad.
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 20, 2017 -> 11:25 AM) Name me a better frontcourt in the past better than Davis/Cousins? Don't give me Robinson/Duncan. Robinson was past his prime at that point and a full-blown role player by 2001. Davis and Cousins are 23 and 26. And I use shook only when it applies. It definitely applies here. The Warriors would much rather see a no-defense playing squad like Denver than this new monster. You use shook like in 80 percent of your posts in this thread now. I f***in love the idea of this AD/DMC front court and my post had nothing to do with that, just saying that you have absolutely killed those two words.
  12. J4L I defend you all the time in this thread but you've officially killed the words GOAT and Shook.
  13. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 08:23 PM) While we appreciate everyone's feedback we've decided to go in another direction, instead of highlighting the exciting young players in the org the site banner will instead be honoring heroes of years past. First up: White Sox legend Adam Dunn, i think all can appreciate his contribution to White Sox history. This is absolutely a no brainer. Thank you for putting this together for us.
  14. I'll be there for his jersey retirement at the Cell.
  15. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 02:26 PM) I'm not sure he was serious in his post. Also, gotta factor in that they're going to lose some depth due to the WBC so there will be extra playing time out there. Wite? He's never been sarcastic in his life, always serious.
  16. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 02:06 PM) Why not Zoidberg? Count me in for that.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 02:03 PM) Holmberg! Definitely saw this as Hoiberg at first.
  18. HE'S ALIVE. EVERYONE BREATHE
  19. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 11:35 AM) No one is questioning his offensive ability. He's just a prototypical DH that's forced to play the outfield and is terrible at it. And you've made this judgement based on about 30 games(if that). Dude has barely played the position in his life and there's some people who are just so convinced that he'll never be able to do it, it's crazy to me.
  20. QUOTE (flavum @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 01:27 PM) Hopefully he'll be ok, but I could get on board with Fulmer/Lopez tandem starts. Sox could get creative with "bullpenning" during the rebuild. Why? Fulmer and Lopez should be getting every opportunity to fully start until they prove they can't QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 01:29 PM) Rodon being seriously hurt would be devastating for the rebuild You're just overreacting for the hell of it now.
  21. My favorite part about this thread is we're going to keep having this exact same argument on Jimmy for probably the next 3 years. And then we can keep all arguing about rebuilding and then we can keep all arguing about how good the Sixers and Bucks and Twolves are. Love you guys.
  22. Ya, I'd much prefer the Bulls would have lost that game but even if he brushed his elbow(which I think he did) then that's a foul.
  23. Schwarber has played like 100 something games in his life in the outfield. I obviously have no clue if he'll ever be an average outfielder but it's pretty funny to me how quickly some on this site dismiss it.
  24. Soxtalk's collective mind is going to blow up when Schwarber becomes an average outfielder.
  25. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 16, 2017 -> 06:17 PM) This is not a short process, and if they do not feel they are receiving sufficient value for their players, they are not going to trade them. Using their forecasts and they're best guesses, they have obviously determined that trading Quintana for the packages being offered was not a net plus. How pissed would you have been if they'd gotten 2 mediocre prospects for Quintana? Wait...Didn't you write this article like 2 weeks ago?
