Elijah Dukes the MLB's latest tool
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ May 23, 2007 -> 05:04 PM) I stand by what I said, the one guy judging him on 2-3 articles which is dumb beyond belief. Obviously now that he threatened to kill his wife and her kids it changes things. In a lot of cases though, the media tries to make good people seem bad, and people that judge someone strictly by the media I have seen it first hand he has a serious temper. I have no doubt that if his temper goes unchecked he will either hurt someone or someone will hurt him.

Chris Young does something good (while not on the sox, f'in kenny)
CY has been on a tear lately. Unfortunately for us after he singled and stole 2nd he hurt his leg. Of all the young guys it looks like CY has broken out of the "Kevin Seitzer" slump first. He came in with this bold idea of changing all of our young hitting stars successful swings and making them hit prodomently opposite field hitters. It is amazing that we are 3 games over .500 when today was the first time we had a 5 run inning all year and that CY is the 3rd best hitter on our active roster now.

I am glad we had that finish at the end because the 400 laps before that were incredibly boring. Hopefully they will have the kinks worked out for Martinsville this weekend.

Who's your hot prospect?
I say a sleeper in Scott Hairston. This guy can rake and now with Quentin's injury he should get plenty of AB's to show it off.

Brian Anderson
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Mar 20, 2007 -> 08:33 PM) absolutely disgusting Julio is a middle reliever who strikes guys out at a pretty proficient rate. His ERA of 4.23, WHIP of 1.32, and BB/9 of 4.5 does anything but strike confidence in me. Arizona raked the Sox over the coals for one great CF prospect, regardless of how good Vazquez can (and I think will) be, it's not time to let them steal another great young CFer. I don't think we would get that lucky twice. But we really have no use for another OF we have to many as it is. We have CGon, Upton coming along with Hairston, Young, Quentin, Brynes already on the major league team. One thing I will say is Juilo will not be a Dback when we head to Colorado on April 2nd. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 21, 2007 -> 01:35 PM) Really? What has Chris Young accomplished so far? Not much. He may turn out to be great, but at this point, he hasn't given AZ anything yet. Yeah he has given us 50 AB's mostly in a PH role. This year he is the starting CF and seems to be an almost lock for NL ROY. I also like the fact that our coaches have shown him to hit to RF. The reaction here in Arizona is we can't lose in this trade Javy was hanging out to dry and still JB managed to find a good deal.

Baltimore claims Sean Tracey
QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 23, 2007 -> 08:14 PM) Tracey has a 91/92 mph fastball with no control. He won't be making any major league team. Tracey's stuff isn't on the same planet as that of Thornton. That would be like comparing Buehrle's stuff to Santana's stuff. He would have made our pen here in Arizona that I could Guarantee.

AAP: Gavin Floyd
3-3 Game: Gavin threw the ball very well. His command faltered a little in his last inning, but overall a great performance.
-
AAP: Carlos Vasquez
3-3 Game Pitched well but he will have to work on getting to the bag a little quicker he allowed one runner to reach and should have allowed another but the 1st base ump was in a very giving mood (and he was blinded by Rogo)

SOX @ Rox / DBacks @ Sox - 3/1 split-squad
Also add that two Dback pitchers will be Casey Diagle (Jennie Finch's husband) and Evan MacLane. The Sox's should have a field day with those two.

Kevin Harvick is the Daytona 500 Champion in a photo finish with Mark Martin 2 one-hundredths of a second. In the last 48 laps 25 cars ended up with wrecked or with a DNF. What a wild last 48 laps.

QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Feb 15, 2007 -> 11:18 AM) Waltrip's "apology" was so phony. he knew what they were doing. He may be technologically challenged, but he isn't that stupid, no racer, much less team owner is. If wasn't out-right told when it was done, I'd have to believe that it was for plausible deniability rather than he just didn't know at all. Sort of like the team discussed it and agreed that MW wouldn't be told when it was going to happen so his denying it would sound truthful. I never really had a problem with him (mostly because he has been a non-issue/non-competitive race for sometime), but thisis a huge black eye on Toyota. Looking forward to the Duals this afternoon. The 500 is under way! Lets go Smoke
