8/2 Games
QUOTE(danman31 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 03:31 AM) Barons lose 10-3. 2 hits for Owens, Blakely, and Stewart. Young 1-4 with a double, run, BB, SB, 2 Ks. Ahh, that's the Chris Young we all know and love. Phillips got rocked. Box Score Phillips didn't pitch badly at all. He started a little shaky, allowing three runs in the first two innings. He then settled down nicely until tiring in the 7th. He went into the 7th down just 4-3. He was obviously tiring in the 7th. After a bunt hit and two singles to CF it was 5-3 and he was laboring. Razor left him in and he issued his only walk of the game to the next hitter to load the bases. LaMura comes in and a triple, double and a single and next thing you know the bases are cleared and two more runs are home, making it 10-3. Sometimes boxscores can be deceiving........

8/1 Games
QUOTE(MnSoxFan @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 09:19 PM) They ran into some tough pitching, Baker for Twins AAA team 1 hit them and shut them down last week, Liriano beat them twice, both are expected to start for Twins later this season when they dump Mays and Lohse. Last night was a kid with bad ERA, but Rex told me he was very, very good in AA last year, maybe he has been hurt this year. Seddon is a LHP that I liked last year. He was 9-10 with a 4.39 ERA in AA after going 5-0 with an 0.65 ERA in High A. Note Montgomery was a terrible team last year. He averaged just under a strikeout an inning and a walk every three. He isn't overpowering by any means, but he was just one of those guys you notice that has a chance yet is flying under the radar. Than again, he may bust. For the record he started against the Barons 4 times last year, being very good in two starts, solid in one and bad in the other.

what is Joe Morgan's problem??
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 05:52 AM) Sandberg is a good player but I wouldnt really call him HOF material..... sure his fielding percantage was awesome but if you play such a small range it should be damn good. For a guy with such small range, I certainly remember him making plays up the middle and in short RF all the time. He could go get a ball behind second base and throw to 1B while fading away quite well. He never, ever dove for a ball and that bugged me about him, but I wouldn't say his range was terrible by any means. Might not have been the best, but he was definitely a 2B you would want playing on your team. Sandberg was a great player and one of the best of his era. He is definitely HOF material.

White Sox Acquire Blum
QUOTE(heirdog @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 05:51 PM) That was Ryan Wing, who was lost to the Rangers via rule 5 and then picked back up this year off waivers. He was supposed to be really good but had an injury early in his minor league campaign similar to Kris Honel. Or it could have been Gary Majewski, who the Sox traded to the Dodgers, then traded back for him. He then got picked up in the Rule 5 draft and was returned to the Sox when he didn't make Detroit's opening day roster. He currently has a nice 3.18 ERA in 51 appearances out of the Washington Nationals bullpen.

QUOTE(soxhawks @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 07:02 PM) does anyone know if you can change the kick meter speed on heisman, i hate how fast it goes i always miss field goals, i have s***y punts, and my kickoffs go out of bounds the exact reason I don't play Heisman....... I'll stick with All-American and be happy!

NCAA 2006
I am in my second season and have had two unbelievable games against Iowa. In the first year I was down 26-0 before coming back, taking the lead, only to blow it at the end of regulation. I ended up losing 50-43 in 2OT. The next season, Iowa was once again a thorn in my side. This time I had the big lead at 35-14 in the 2nd quarter and could not hold it. I had to score with :37 left just to send the game to OT. This time I won 63-56 in OT. For some reason, I cannot stop Iowa. As a reference point, I opened the season against Georgia and beat them 21-14, so it is not like I score that high all the time.

QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 05:12 AM) Hit 91 tonight several times had several great looking curve's thrown tonight, one to get James Loney in the 2nd a very gutsy pitch to a powerful leadoff hitter but that pitch showed me Honel was going to have a good outing because he had enough confidence to throw that pitch in that count and to believe he could throw it for a strike. Man you must see really well if you can catch all that from Birmingham to Jacksonville. ;-)

NCAA 2006
QUOTE(Jimenez4MVP @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 04:23 PM) Thats weird, ive never once gotten put on probation in 2006.. I have a few players act up, but no probation.. Let me take that back........ I have not been put on probation on this year's game. I just see a similar pattern that happened to me last year. Schools don't get NCAA probation because their players don't hit the books hard enough. Minor violations add up in this game and the punishment doesn't always fit the crime. That's my problem. Can the discipline aspect of the game be adjusted or turned off?

QUOTE(Spod=Ratings @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 11:34 PM) just got my rosters today on ebay, i advise if you hate numbers do this it was pretty cheap i needed a memory card anyways I entered all of my Michigan players manually, including their incoming freshmen for this year. That is holding me off for now. As long as my players have names, I'm good at least for awhile.

Hurricane Emily
Exactly like it was here a week ago Saturday before Dennis came through. It will be pretty nice right after the hurricane passes as well. The worst part about a hurricane is the wait. Knowing that it is coming at you, but not knowing exactly what it will do. Last year with Ivan, I was without power for about 7 hours. A friend of mine never lost power. Another friend 10 miles out of town lost it for two freakin weeks! People buy up all the batteries, flashlights, candles, non-perishable food, ice, etc. Wal Mart looks like a bomb went off with empty shelves and a mess all over. The day before Dennis came there were no D cell batteries to be found in the whole city. When a hurricane passes it is really depressing. Rain and wind just pounds on you all day long with no respite. Dennis, which turned out to be much weaker than Ivan last year, provided a steady hard rain for about 14 hours straight. It just kept coming and coming and coming.

How strong are the predicting it will be? Last I heard it was a Category 1, but would likely restrenghthen.

NCAA 2006
I hate the discipline aspect of the dynasty mode. I go through the first season without a single incident and in my second season, I have already had three players suspended for academic reasons. I hate that the game dictates stupid penalties for nothing violations and doesn't give you the opportunity to adjust them without putting yourself in hot water with the NCAA. FWIW, I never sign a recruit with Poor discipline to help with this and I still end up on probation for no freakin reason.

QUOTE(ptatc @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 04:30 AM) Thats true. If the strained muscle is in his ribs or abdominals it will take quite awhile to heal. These muscles are so thick and provide all of the trunk rotation during the swing. even if they are just sore it robs players of a lot of power and speed during the swing. Thanks for putting into easily understandable words what I meant. lol I knew what I wanted to say, but gave up after about 10 seconds of trying to think of what you posted.

Computer Help
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 05:47 AM) Do you have an HP Pavillion system? What usually happens with a system recovery disk is that it will give you the option to load from the recovery disk... The way it worked on my old one, when I would load in a system disk, it would take me to the system disk menu and it would give me a series of options, one of which I believe was reformatting the computer. If that didn't work, then another way to do it is to try to exit Windows and get yourself to a DOS prompt with the restore disk in the drive and simply type in "Format C:". I do have a Pavilion computer, which is why the error was pissing me off. It kept me from getting to the options you just mentioned. The motherboard has been changed from the original computer, so that may be the problem.

Computer Help
QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 04:07 AM) If you want to wipe it clean, just do a reformat and then reinstall Windows. Reinstalling Windows doesn't erase documents and old programs and is kind of a messy process. That's my problem....... I don't know how to do either. I am working on Windows 98, by the way. I thought I had it figured out when I figured out how to get the system to boot to the System Recovery disk, but before I could get to the menu an error message came up. It said the Recovery disk was for an HP Pavilion system only and to call HP support if I am seeing the error on a Pavilion computer. So that is where I am now.........

Computer Help
I don't know how to do either one, but here is my deal. I am selling my computer to a friend and want to wipe it clean for him. Should I reformat the hard drive? Reinstall Windows? Are they one in the same? I have the original System Recovery and Application Recovery CD's, but am not sure how to use them. Can anyone help???

Hurricane Emily
QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 10:55 PM) Once it leaves the Yucatan, we'll have a better idea. The prevailing wisdom is it will hook south west and land about 60-80 miles south of me. IIRC being north of the strike is better than the south. Plywood is scarcer than hen's teeth. Same with candles and batteries. I'm buying beer and tequilla. And I have no idea what to do with the trampoline besides uphook the springs. Thankfully it isn't during the playoffs. When a storm is tracking north (as in up the Gulf into FL/AL/MS, the worst side is the east and northeast side of the hurricane. I would think that would put you right into the path of the heaviest outer bands, would it not?

New BA article on Chris Young
QUOTE(Randar68 @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 03:39 PM) Let's also keep in mind where some of these quotes and comparisons are coming from. Razor isn't the most objective guy (see preseason article with his comments, hype, and expectations)... I love Chris Young and his potential, I'm just saying let's not get excited any time Razor raves about a guy... Razor hype his players??? really? lol Young plays a VERY shallow CF, ala Andruw Jones.
