I'm really struggling playing at the All-Star level for some reason. Can anybody PM me a good set of sliders for All-Star level? My problems in a nutshell are hitting and the pitching not being forgiving enough. It doesn't need to be as easy as Pro, but I am finding the pitcher losing stamina way too fast and the slightest miss on the pitch meter causing a fat pitch that gets crushed. And last night I threw a 79 mph changed up on the outside corner at the knees (had the right location) and a .250 hitter with 1 HR on the season pulled the ball 390 out of the yard to straight LF.

Rotoworld Projects Anderson to Bham
QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 06:26 AM) Transactions Accoring to Rotoworld Brian will be in Bham I am not sure where they got there info from but they do say he is a lot closer to the Cell than Ryan. On a personal note I would sure like to see the hoover met become more hitter frendly I am not sure if that effects our prospects or not but I have seen a LOT of deep drives that would have been long gone at the Cell get caught or go for Doubles. Tom Tom, I don't think Rotoworld knows anything more than anyone else in regards to such assignments. They are just speculating. That said, it would not surprise me at all to see Brian sent back to Birmingham. My guess is that either Anderson or Michael Spidale will be headed back to the Steel City.

Cheat, that's good stuff you are working on. A couple of things to keep in mind about minor league rosters.... 1. AAA rosters are 24 for the full season 2. AA rosters are 24 for the first and last month of the season, 23 the rest of the time. 3. Class A rosters are 23, I belive, but be sure to verify that. 4. Rookie league rosters (Bristol and Great Falls) are much bigger. I think they can have as many as 30-35 players. The minor league DL is only 7 days, so rosters can change quickly due to injuries. The "phantom DL" is utilized in the minor leagues to manipulate roster spots. Often a guy or two is forced to go on the "DL" to make room for another player. This is generally a temporary move, but can get confusing. Another idea that may be worthwhile if it doesn't take up too much time is to keep a database of all transactions. If you get on the media email list from each team's Media Relations office, you should get all updates, providing they send releases on all moves. Sometimes they may forget or just omit minor moves. They have a ton of stuff to do and some things can get overlooked. You should be able to get on their media lists by having Jason give them your name/address and added as a SoxTalk representative. If you need any other help or input, feel free to PM me. I like what you are doing.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 05:28 AM) I have a player J. Allen who's originally a CF prospect in FA. Got him, developed him in the minors for 2 years, brought him up and changed his position as a 2b and he's one 4 GG and 5 silver slugger awards. His contact is 100 and his speed is a 98. His power is in the 70's as well. The whole left side of my infield are GGers. I didn't pick him up that first year, and now I can't find him. Don't see him on any rosters nor on any free agent lists. Oh well.- Should/Will Mike Davis be back?
Apparently Davis is coming back........ not much detail, but this is being reported by the Indy Star and the Bloomington Herald-Times. Davis to return next season- Bowling
Never saw this thread originally, but allow me to offer my congrats...... I have thrown a 300 before as well, but it took me two games to do it. ;-) Seriously, I bowled pretty regularly many years ago and my best was 266. I averaged in the 170's and bowled pretty competitively. In college, I bowled on a club team for a year and we bowled in a conference that included IU, UI, Ball. State, Purdue, Vincennes and others. It was a lot of fun. I was only average at that level. Once again, and once you are old enough to drink it, this Bud's for you!- Chicago Bracket
I'd spew out IU RULES, but......... uh, they don't. What can you do? Root for the Big Ten I say- Should/Will Mike Davis be back?
Not surprising...... Knight has never been one to skip a chance to get in a final word. I think it sucks that he talks about Davis that way because he is a fellow coach, but nothing that asshole says surprises me.- MVP Baseball 2005
One thing I did tonight was played a game in the Polo grounds using the Legends and Hereos teams, that Katie Roy unlocked for me. That was a blast. I played a friend and won 1-0 in 13 innings, only because we decided to throw each other first pitch fastballs down the middle on every hitter starting in the 12th inning. Hitting the likes of Satchel Paige, Bob Feller, and Walter Johnson was impossible. Satchel made me look UGLY!!! It was a lot of fun though, but hard as hell.- MVP Baseball 2005
QUOTE(whitesoxfan56789 @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 04:45 AM) After about 20 simmed seasons i maxed out everything in the stadium. It is pretty cool, but not worth the time it took 20 freakin seasons?? You sound like me with NCAA Football. It's pretty sad, I know. lol- MVP Baseball 2005
Has anybody that has finished off a season or two, benefitted from adding seats? Right now, I am still at 20,000 seats and am not filling them, not even in World Series games. I had about 6 million at the end of the 2006 season and spent it on various upgrades, but didn't think it would be a good idea until I could actually come close to filling the 20,000 seats. I think I averaged around 16,000 in attendance, up from about 14,000 the year before. Also, when purchasing ads and logo signage for the ballpark, does that give you added revenue? I spent a million bucks on them, but the more I look at it, I think that is cosmetic only. I didn't notice a bump in ad revenues and only saw it listed in the expense column in the financial statement. I am thinking about selling them. If they aren't creating revenue, I sure as hell don't want ads all over the place. Any other stadium upgrades that have helped?- Austin Bracket
On to the next round....... I get Miss. St - Duke and GA Tech-Louisville at home. If only I could get all three games. LOL- Chicago Bracket
QUOTE(T R U @ Mar 20, 2005 -> 10:09 PM) I didnt mean it to seem like im saying your a douchebag, I just meant the way you commented to him about it was.. I understand exactly what you meant.... and I still stand behind everything I have posted. But I will try to make a better effort to ignore things that annoy me. Fair enough?- Austin Bracket
QUOTE(aboz56 @ Mar 20, 2005 -> 09:52 PM) Spartans move a step closer to a 4th final four under Izzo... Wisconsin wins and all the Big 10 haters will need to bow down. Not technically..... Just because the top three teams were strong, doesn't mean the conference as a whole was worth a s*** this year. You know me, I am a Big Ten guy through and through, but the league was down this year, no doubt about it. The better those three do in the tournament the better it will make the league look on the surface, but the fact that the league wasn't very good still remains.- Chicago Bracket
QUOTE(T R U @ Mar 20, 2005 -> 09:54 PM) Why dont you just ignore him then?.. what does it matter that he was talking bout the refs or a coach being a dumbf***.. Ive seen Willie be positive many times, it doesnt mean he doesnt have a life.. that was a pretty douchebag thing to say, why dont you just ignore him? Its not that hard I do quite often..... actually when talking baseball he is just fine. He gives positive input. But during this tournament he has been annoying as hell, seeming very immature. So I am a douchebag for pointing it out. Sorry if I sometimes have a low tolerance for stupidity, but that's the way it is.- Should/Will Mike Davis be back?
QUOTE(aboz56 @ Mar 20, 2005 -> 04:12 PM) Latest rumor I heard early this morning is that Mike Davis has resigned as the coach of Indiana Basketball. More details to follow, if any become available. Not too hard to see the writing on the wall...... A preemptive move would not surprise me in the least.- Chicago Bracket
Nice effort by the Salukis. OK State in OK City was a tall order. Nothing to be ashamed of.- Chicago Bracket
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 20, 2005 -> 09:32 PM) I'm serious..... take a vailum, drink a beer or just grow up..... try something different! It's become pretty annoying.- Chicago Bracket
WHarris1, do you have ANYTHING positive to add? Geez, all I see is you b****ing about the referees, some coach being a dumbf***, somebody getting screwed, your life sucking because some team doesn't win........ Let me offer some advice....... Get a freakin life!!!- Albuquerque Bracket
Gansey for WV can flat out play. He was impressive.- Albuquerque Bracket
QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Mar 19, 2005 -> 11:45 PM) Yeah I actually started watching sports when I was very young, Larry was getting close to retiring, but I've seen alot of NBA classics also with him playing. I know Morrison isn't Bird, scouts have been comparing him to Larry and I just don't see it. Morrison is skilled at 6'9, but he doesn't have NEARLY the shooting touch Larry did. Comparisons to Bird are flattering I am sure, but they aren't fair. I really like Morrison as a player and think he is a great shooter, but there is only one Larry Bird. Just as there is only one Magic Johnson and one Michael Jordan. Certain players are just in a whole other class. back to reminiscing... I can barely remember this because I was a youngster at the time, but I remember Bird and Indiana State coming to Evansville in 1979, the year they went undefeated. Evansville had just gone Division I and was trying to recover from the plane crash and knew there was no way to stop Bird. So their coach said he would let Bird do his thing and try to stop everyone else. Bird got 40 or 42 and ISU only beat the Aces by like four points. /end reminiscing- Chicago Bracket
UWM has had a solid program for several years now. Bruce Pearl will pretty much be able to write his own ticket to the school of his choosing when this thing is over. I am familiar when he won a D-II National Championship at Southern Indiana 10 years ago. It was obvious he was headed for bigger and better things. I know Illini fans can't stand him, but they'll get their chance to take their frustrations out on the Panthers this weekend. I do not see them beating Illinois unless they just crumble under pressure.- Albuquerque Bracket
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 19, 2005 -> 10:35 PM) Are you old enough remember Larry Bird? He did plenty of whining on his own I am and he was amazing. Yeah, he complained and he was quietly one of the worse trash talkers in the league, but that guy could flat out play. I still remember when he won the NBA 3-pt shooting contest at the All-Star Game without ever taking off his warm up jacket. When it started he looked at all the other guys and asked who planned on coming in 2nd. Then went out and won it in his warmups. A pure pleasure to watch. For a guy who couldn't run well and couldn't jump, he could do everything else on a basketball floor. /nostalgic daydream- Chicago Bracket
UAB and Arizona in a track meet.... If you guys haven't seen UAB play, make sure you do if they break to that game. It is really fun to watch. Right now, Arizona up 28-24 with 5:34 left in the half. - MVP Baseball 2005
