Sowers did not pitch in that championship game yesterday... It was a great game with a decent crowd, however. It was hot as hell too....... I also like Powell, having seen him play 4 years in a row. South Carolina has a couple of pitchers that are highly regarded too, but I cannot recall their names off the top of my head.

Why not Adkins? Because Cotts is a better pitcher and they are both in the same position. Under your scenario, they should just go with Cotts.

He hit .333 in 54 AB's down there......... only 2 walks, so his OBP isn't what got him back, it is the fact that he can hit and Luis Gonzalez was struggling

The SEC Baseball Tournament was televised across 9 states this weekend...... from the Barons home stadium in Birmingham. I'd say that is some legit coverage......

Interesting story....... what I got out of it wasn't the 40 K's, but that he threw 28 f***ing innings in 8 days!!! What the hell are they doing to this kid? That is absolutely ridiculous, no matter how good the kid is. 9 innings on May 17 7 innings on May 21 12 innings on May 25 Somebody should have their ass kicked.......

He played RF for Florida, not CF. He just went 4-14 in 4 games in the SEC Tournament, with one of those hits being a huge double that tied Game 4 against Vanderbilt in the top of the 9th inning. Vandy went on to win 6-5 in 12 innings.

I think he is basically admitting he wishes he wouldn't have made the comments he did.

Ouch, that outing had to hurt..... He had been pitching well too... Joe is a great guy. I hope he somehow gets another chance.

Steff, Rauch was probably told that he would only be up for one start becaue the Sox don't need another start from the 5th spot for a while. But that is not the same as the move being made official. Leaving to go be with his family, while Rauch probably thought it was okay, was not. It is just part of a pattern of this guy's thinking and actions that are "me first". I guarantee you if he pitched well and left the game after 5 innings he still would have been in the locker room after the game. The miscommunication was because Jon just doesn't get it. He doesn't understand the way things need to be done. He never has.....

There are multiple off days, so it is hard to say what they will do.

The Sox won't need a 5th starter for awhile........ which is why Rauch was going back to Charlotte regardless of how he did today.
