  1. ss2k, I have only seen Honel pitch once and it was just a 5 inning stint, so I can't really say a whole lot. What I do recall is that he struggled with his velocity and was only hitting 87-88. A scout I talked to had seen him 4 times and said that was true each time I saw him. His curve ball was very good. It had a sharp 12-6 break and is definitely a plus pitch. My only concern with it is the break is so big, it may be difficult for him to throw it for strikes and not hang it up thigh high. I don't recall much of a changeup but that could have been because he didn't throw it often combined with my not paying close enough attention. Overall he had good size and seemed to have good mound presence. He didn't seem as sharp or dominant as I had hoped, but expectations are certainly high. I really don't like to evaluate a pitcher on one outing just as I wouldn't evaluate a hitter after only 3 or 4 at bats. You guys can feel free to make your own judgements or withold judgement until more information is available as I am choosing to do. I am definitely looking forward to seeing Honel and Wing pitch this year.
  2. He's Just Warming Up
  3. I'll just take a stab at the AL Central for now........ AL Central 1) Twins 2) Indians 3) White Sox 4) Tigers 5) Royals
  4. That info is not listed anywhere I know of. Watching games and listening to broadcasters with a scouting report or two mixed in is the only way I know of.
  5. Always one step ahead of ya UNS........
  6. The Giants built Pac Bell Park with their own money. The debt load on that stadium is huge and is limiting their cash flow, hence the lower payroll this year. They could deal Alfonzo to the Yankees, but I have read conflicting reports over whether they want to move him. I am not sure where they would get the money for Maddux, but it has been reported that Maddux would accept a backloaded contract, with possibly some of it deferred. My guess is that he will still end up with the Cubs, with the Dodgers as plan B.
  7. Past, it's 10pm and 48 degrees here. Haven't seen a flake of snow all winter.
  8. However, Boras did say that he had a 4 or 5 year offer "on the table" for Millwood when trying to negotiate a bigger deal ealier. The Phillies called his bluff and Millwood had to file for arbitration, and settle for a one year deal. With Millwood only getting a $1 million raise and a one year deal, I wouldn't call that a victory for Boras.
  9. $67 million for Maddux? Are you freakin crazy???
  10. Many times when trade rumors first start to circulate, the principals in the trade are the only ones mentioned and prospects or throw-ins are added later. Just because a rumor begins as Thomas for Perez, doesn't mean it will likely end up that way........... IF it ends up happening at all.
  11. I don't think so....... I initially responded to baggs post with a very explanatory response. Others have since added posts that were more critical and therefore, being defended. I don't think baggs was out of line in his questioning, although perhaps the title of the thread could have set the wrong tone, depending on how you read into it. By and large, I think this thread has been fair. How many threads do we get on this board that get to 100 replies that don't have a few uninformed or narrow-minded posts?
  12. Can't wait until I get to start the very first Bajenaru Sucks Thread!
  13. Nikki again..........
  14. It was late, I wasn't tired and there was no action on the PaleHose. LOL Have we gotten too much Nikki Schieler-Ziering?

Are you positive Perez will be a free agent after this year? Where do you find that info?
  16. young bastard!
  17. Not only did he come up with Baltimore, but he spent one season with Houston before going to Philly........
  18. Folks, it looks like we have a winner!
  19. He's still an active player........
  20. Time for you to think a little deeper, there Jason. And no cheating!
  21. Not Mussina, try again.

  23. Will you freaking relax! We know there are control issues with Neal. No one is disputing that. But let's not act like we know how his Major League career will turn out. Patience is a virtue. See if you can find some.
  24. I was fortunate enough to see two games at Tiger Stadium. Those happened to be the final two there. Being at the last game ever at Tiger Stadium was one hell of an experience and a memory I'll never forget. I'll add Don Mattingly Day in Yankee Stadium as 1a on the list of most memorable games. Add the All-Star Game in Atlanta and a game in Camden Yards 5 days after Ripken broke Gehrig's record to the list. I guess #5 would be seeing Nolan Ryan's 3rd or 4th to last start in Camden Yards in 1993. Guess I just got way off topic here, didn't I?
  25. A spaghetti strap, I suggest.
