  1. One of the poll options should have been if you are female have you ever been? If yes, did you enjoy it? Women at strip clubs are becoming very commonplace. Not all clubs are seedy. Wives, girlfriends join men as well as groups of friends including men and women are frequently seen in clubs. For the record, the best two clubs I have ever been that are worlds apart from others: 1. Mons Venus - Tampa, Florida 2. Platinum Plus - Memphis, Tennessee
  2. Anybody have access to ESPN Insider? Todd McShay has an article today on the players for this upcoming college season which could be high NFL draft picks. Can someone either post the article or at least a detailed summary? Thanks in advance

I don't see what the big deal is? He was just hangin brain.... She has this school girl fantasy. "That's pretty common" I know, but I just can't get used to wearing the dress!
  4. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 30, 2007 -> 08:16 PM) I think if Hamga graduates early, he's UK bound. At least that is what I'm hearing. That would make sense. He said this weekend he is currently most interested in Kentucky and they likely have a scholarship to give. Anyone know how many they have available? I know they are pursuing Jai Lucas and Patrick Patterson as well. That could be an interesting late haul.
  5. Beas Hamga may be able to graduate this summer and be eligible to play this fall, making him a huge potential recruiting coup for this upcoming season. While it is not definite, the possibility exists. Right now he has narrowed his choices to Kentucky, Indiana, New Mexico, UNLV and Memphis, with Kentucky holding a slight lead. Not sure what teams such as Indiana would do if he indeed becomes available this fall, not having a scholarship to give. Not sure about the situation of the other teams.
  6. Maybe this isn't as big of a surprise to some but I am shocked. I knew they were wanting to move Moss, but I never thought New England would go for him. They just showed a list of additions to New England this year and it is pretty impressive. If they can get them all to mesh together, look for NE to be right back in the hunt for a Super Bowl Championship again.
  7. Ohio State cleaning up with top offensive line commitments. They currently have commitments from the top OL prospect in Ohio (Michael Adams), Florida (Michael Brewster) and Texas (JB Shugarts). Shugarts is the guy I really wanted to see in a Michigan uniform, so seeing him commit to OSU really hurts.
  8. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 08:24 PM) It's clear that Chizik is changing the recruiting philosophy. We're mentioned with numerous four and five stars for next year, or at least guys that will be. Dude, you might want to focus on a Big 12 Championship first. Baby steps, Heads, baby steps......
  9. Notre Dame is gathering an impressive haul right now, with 10 early commits including several heralded players.
  10. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 06:29 PM) I heart Chizik. Any particular reason or have you just started doting on men with authority?
  11. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Apr 21, 2007 -> 11:49 AM) I tend to blame Houston Nutt more than Mustain. Nutt ridiculously hires Mitch's high school coach as an OC in the SEC just to get a recruit, and then wonders how it went wrong when the kids think they run the program. Dude, there is more going on there than that. Mustain's parents, went to the Arkansas AD to complain about their kids lack of playing time. Boo freakin hoo! Now Mustain has gotten the cell phone records from Nutt's university paid for phone under the Freedom of Information Act and is trying to smear Nutt accusing him for cheating on his wife based simply on the # of text messages sent to one person. Mustain committed to Arkansas before Gus Mahlzon was hired. He started to waiver and Mahlzon was hired and he re-committed. Even if promises were made to change the offense, the kid's got to compete to earn time on the field. If Mahlzon, Mustain, etc. were mad because they couldn't implement their spread gun offense 100% from Day 1 then shame on them. With the talent Arkansas already had, especially at running back, anybody with half a brain knew it would take time to make changes. I'm not saying Nutt is 100% free from blame, but if you truly expect things to be handed to you on a silver platter and then mommy has to go complaining when that doesn't happen, that just tells me he's a brat. His whole life people have been telling him how good he is and all of a sudden when he has to work and compete for something, he reacts this way. He better toughen up now because there is no way in hell Pete Carroll is going to hand him anything.
  12. A couple of random thoughts/notes: 1. Alabama is having their spring game today (A-Day) and is expecting 60,000 fans. Yes, that is 60,000 for a spring football game! 2. Hadn't seen this mentioned anywhere, but Mitch Mustain is headed to USC. He left Arkansas after the season and is just now making his college choice. Here's one guy who hopes he gets buried in USC's depth chart and never sees the field as a starter. I just see him as one of the biggest spoiled brat athletes to come along in quite a while. Mods: Can we pin this thread? Just because it is April doesn't mean we can't have some ongoing dicussions about the gridiron. Thanks!
  13. QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 20, 2007 -> 10:37 PM) The second story seems like a good story about Wally, not Cotts... You're right it is, but if you saw Neal's reaction and how he was overwhelmed with the whole situation, yet seemed fixated on writing Wally a check, you see what a real, quality person Neal is as well.
  14. I'll share a Mark Buehrle and a Neal Cotts story, just for the hell of it. Buehrle In September the year Mark got called up to the Sox, a friend and I met him and Matt Ginter at the ESPNZone after a Sox game. I had joked with Buehrle earlier that year that I would buy him a beer when he got to the big leagues. I introduced my buddy and we all started talking. I walked up to the bar to order beers for all of us and just as I was about to pay, MB tossed a $100 at the bartender, looked at me and told me to put my money away. I told him I owed him and to let me buy the damned beer and he replied, just drink the damned thing. My friend and I never paid for another drink the rest of the night. This doesn't make him a hero by any means, but to me it tells a little bit about him. He took care of us even though we didn't ask for it, and actually told him not to. I might expect that more from an established big leaguer more so than a guy who was in AA a few months before. Cotts When Cotts go the call to go to the big leagues he was driven back to Birmingham while the team was in Chattanooga. He got back and started packing everything up and had a strange look on his face. He was all of a sudden worried he didn't have any clothes to wear. He had no suit, sports jacket or ties, which are required for team travel. Manager Wally Backman called to check in on him to see how they were doing. Neal asked him where to get a suit and Wally told him to look in his locker. Neal tried it on and it fit fine. Wally told him to keep it, it was his. Neal tried to write a check, but Wally told him no. He told him to keep the suit and never come back to AA. No real point to that story, but I thought it was kind of interesting, nonetheless.
  15. This isn't technically recruiting, but I have seen a few rumos Tyler Smith is leaving Iowa. Anyone have a scoop?
  16. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 06:14 PM) I guess if getting minutes in garbage time and getting posterized a couple of times by EJ makes you a 4-star, then he's a 4-star. He's just a 3-star on Rivals, IIRC. He was just a sophomore this year right? Isn't that kind of early to figure out how many stars he is worth?

I thought the judges were pretty much spot on Tuesday night. Phil, Melinda and Jordin were the best three with Blake doing okay. Everybody else was pretty much so-so at best. LaKisha is waning fast, as evidenced by her appearance in the bottom 3 tonight. She shouted her song last night, rather than singing it. Chris Richardson needs to go soon. He hasn't been good for a few weeks (his performance of Smooth last week, while liked by the judges for whatever reason, really sucked!). I think he is limited in the types of songs he can do well with. Does anyone really understand what they are doing next week with the Idol Gives Back thing? Are they taking a break from the competition for a week? They said tonight it will be a two-night event. I'm a bit confused on what the deal is with that. I really think the only three that have a shot at winning are Melinda, Jordin and Blake. I am beginning to like Jordin more and more each week and feel like they are packaging her in preparation for the finals.
  18. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 17, 2007 -> 12:34 PM) Weird, I don't know how our name was ever linked to the guy, considering we were struggling to figure out how Deandre Thomas was getting on next year's team. He was set to visit IU last weekend greasy, but the visit got canceled. I guess with Shaw sticking around and DJ staying, there was no room. I'm sure they were just talking to him as insurance in case one of those two left.
  19. As expected, a little rationality won the battle over ego and DJ will return for at least one more season. Love the expectations for IU next year. http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti...1069/SPORTS0601
  20. I agree. I have never been a big fan of the matchups. But the bottom line is they are set as much for interest level and TV ratings as anything else.
  21. I don't remember a whole lot of detail but I recall liking him when I saw him last year. He's tall and has a good solid delivery. Can't remember much else, but I was impressed, which has to be good for something.
  22. Are Oden's parents divorced? Conley Sr. was quoted saying that he has talked to Greg, his mom and Coach Matta. He then followed it up with if his mom doesn't know, how would anyone? Makes me wonder if they are divorced? Yet, in the Indy Star article, his mom was quoted as saying Greg wasn't ready to talk about it yet, but she didn't say he hasn't decided or contradict what his father said. Sounds to me like Oden's father let the cat out of the bag and Conley is hiding the fact until Greg is ready to make the actual announcement.
  23. I haven't read all 8 pages of this thread, nor have I followed this whole thing in detail and I don't plan to. But unless I just absolutely missed something I think this is a huge overreaction. Would it have gotten the same reaction if he was talking about some girls team in Texas? Or was it because Rutgers is basically local to NY? What this country needs to do is learn how to properly utilize the word WHATEVER. People say dumb things all the time. They say them in person, in business, on the airwaves. WHATEVER America just needs to be able to roll their collective eyes and say WHATEVER and chalk stupid comments up to just that, stupidity. If they are listening to someone that makes comments they don't like, turn the station. Stop listening. Or just ignore it. The more issues like these get talked about, more people pay attention to it. If more people said WHATVER, 98% of the country would not have known he said it. The Rutgers girls basketball players while potentially being offended briefly would have moved on and said WHATEVER. Those that follow women's basketball would have forgotten all about it by the beginning of next basketball season and Imus would have gone on to say more stupid things. WHATEVER!!!
  24. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 08:34 AM) All signs have pointed to Illinois going after 6'7, 225 pound wing Rodney Alexander of Benton Harbor, Michigan via Redlands Oklahoma CC. Anyways, he was down to Illinois and Tennessee by all accounts, but somebody posted a rumor on the IB that he canceled his visit to Tennessee this weekend and very well may sign with Illinois next week. If true....well he's a wing with good size, and his scholly opens up in 2 years as a JUCO, so I wouldn't mind it. He was supposed to visit Indiana last weekend, but the visit never happened. Seems Joey Shaw is going to stick around and it is beleived DJ White will as well, so there was no scholarship available. Didn't know his visit to Tennessee was canceled. Last I heard it was down to UI, Tennessee, Butler and St. Louis.
