American Idol
Haley showed tonight she can still be eye candy even with a lot of clothes on. I thought Simon's comment last night was total hypocrisy. If anyone saw (or is watching on Rewind) the first season, the girls that year wore less clothes than ever. Between Tamyra Gray, Christina Christian (smokin!), Ryan Starr and even Kelly Clarkson, there wasn't a show that at least 2 of them wasn't showing major skin. It was all halter's and midriff. Don't get me wrong, all of them were pretty solid in that category and had it to show off. But they did nothing to quell all of the skin that season, so why bust on Haley now just because she is the only one that can get away with it. She was by no means the best singer and was due to go soon, if not tonight, but I just thought how they let things play out was disrespectful to her. Off of Haley and on to last night's show.... -- Was I the only one that thought Chris' performance of Smooth absolutely blew? I could not believe the judges were complimenting him for that mess. -- The latin songs were tough and overall there were no real great performances. I did think Blake was pretty good and I thought Melinda was solid as usual. LaKisha was eh. I wasn't buying the sexy dancin' that goes with that song. The performer has to fit the performance and that did not fit last night. -- At this point, I think Jordin is going to give Melinda and possibly Blake a run for their money to the end. I really think those three are the only ones that have a realistic shot to win the thing.

I'm confused. The show is 24. Did it not start at midnight?? Should next week not be the finale?

Pac Man gone for season, Henry for 8 games
Badger, perhaps the NFLPA is behind this because they don't want the actions of a few affecting the image of those that go about their business/lives the right way? Maybe if the MLBPA would have taken a similar stance, the whole steroid issue may have never become as blown up as it did. If they eliminated it in effect through peer pressure, then we would have had a steroid policy a lot sooner and perhaps less guys using. Just think if they were proactive in the mid-90's....

Julian Wright to go Pro
Fine by me. Hopefully, more underclassmen declare soon so somebody can talk some sense into DJ White that he may not get drafted at all.

Do you believe Billy Packer?
Who the hell cares? He obviously wasn't using the term in a derogatory way in terms of sexuality. So words can be used in different ways and when using slang, definitions can be stretched. f**ot also means bundle of sticks or even cigarette. Gay means happy. This is a whole lot about absolutely nothing.

The Office
I found the last episode online. Did the last episode end with Roy outside the bar saying he is going to kill Jim Halpert? That is the last line I saw on the downloaded video.

With such a long delay, I fell like I have missed an episode and am not sure where things left off. Does anybody know where I could watch the last episode online?

One, probably two to transfer at IU
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 10:08 PM) Best of luck to X; I understand he wants to be closer to home. Also from what I'm hearing, I don't expect Joey Shaw to transfer. Are you saying he won't leave the program or he won't transfer? That could be two different things. I gotta figure next year could be a tough year for Joey if he sticks around. With Gordon coming in and Ratliff a senior and Bassett figuring to get some time at shooting guard if Crawford earns minutes at the point.

The show lost me when President Palmer shows up at the White House neatly groomed in a suit less than an hour after being medically awakened from an induced coma. Yeah, that makes sense.

NCAA Title Game
Man, I'll tell ya, it seems to me we should be giving Florida more credit rather than blaming Matta's game plan. While OSU's guards where tired, they were in the game. Their tired legs didn't keep Conley and Lewis from being able to drive and score in the lane in the 2nd half. Not all of Florida's threes were open looks. Several times a Gator nailed a back-breaking three with a hand in his face. Horford making 12-15 footers hurt, especially the two or three he hit as the shot clock was winding down. Hell, if you want to blame Matta, blame him for not getting Oden more rest. Oden was defitiely spent at the end. I just think Florida hit big shots at huge moments. Everytime OSU seemed ready to make that big run, Florida stopped it cold. I see what SS2k is saying, but I don't think it was that easy on UF. They got open looks often because they had good ball movement, they hit the boards after a long rebound or they found the open man on a broken play.

NCAA Title Game
Florida has to go down as one of the most unselfish teams I have ever seen play. It didn't matter to them which player stepped up on any given night, only that they won. To have five guys averaging between 10.2 and 13.3 points is pretty amazing. As much as I loathe the SEC beating the Big Ten, I have to take my hat off to this team. They have done what no other team has EVER done.

Birmingham Barons Roster
QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 29, 2007 -> 10:09 PM) AA and AAA both look to have really good teams this year... at least there is some good news! Maybe I have not been following closely enough, but that lineup doesn't look to me like it will be able to hit itself out of a wet paper bag.

Ummm, what the hell does Bruce Pearl have to do with Eric Gordon and why does his opinion matter? Pearl is going to recruit whoever he wants hard and he also knows he is in a serious head-to-head battle with IU for Philip Jurick. What Pearl does with Mackey doesn't concern me. Any kid that verbally commits so early concerns me only because it is the nature of kids that age to change their mind. Especially with Kentucky's coaching situation changing. The bottom line is that Sampson needs to continue to recruit him if he wants to keep him.

The West Bracket (San Jose)
That's the biggest load of crap I have heard in a long time. Coaches aren't always responsible for winning the game. The players hve to actually play. Considering how many easy shots Kansas missed last night, it is amazing they were as close as they were until the end. Bill Self's coaching ability had NOTHING to do with last night's loss. So go ahead and make your argument, draw your conclusions, show all the fancy correlations you can muster up. None of it will be accurate. The bottom line is he had a young team that did not do the things they normally do. It happens, and doesn't make one a worse coach because of it.

Recruiting Thread
Two IU recruits played for state championships last night, one came away as a winner.... Eric Gordon scored 25 points and his North Central squad fell to East Chicago Central 78-74. Hopefully, we will have some firsthand reports coming soon on that game. ECC included Purdue signee E'tuan (sp?) Moore and 2008 recruit Angel Garcia. Bud Mackey, 2008 commit, led his Scott Co. Cardinals to a win over Louisville Ballard (aboz' HS??). Mackey was named MVP, taking over the game and scoring 9 straight points in the final minutes to bring Scott Co. from behind and win. I watched the game and had mixed thoughts about Mackey. First, I don't think he was near active enough early in the game. Scott Co., quite frankly, didn't look very good. The game was played at a helter skelter pace with Ballard pressing and slapping at the ball all over the court. Scott Co. never seemed to get into a rhythm and often would settle for a shot off the dribble by the first guy that was able to get the ball past them to the top of the key. So you didn't see much movement without the ball. Mackey committed two quick fouls and lost a lot of time in the first quarter. He just really didn't assert himself until late in the game. On the positive, he is athletic and can be a slasher-type player. He did a nice job of pulling up off the dribble and hitting mid-range shots. He was also able to drive by defenders and score in trafic at the rim. He didn't shoot a lot from outside, but did hit one three.

The West Bracket (San Jose)
I find all the references to "Elite 8 Bill" funny. Bill Self's coaching ability had nothing to do with all the layups, putbacks and 3-footers Kansas missed tonight.

The West Bracket (San Jose)
This Kansas-UCLA game is a great one. If Kansas could hit shots within 3 feet of the basket, they would be well ahead right now. I can't recall seeing a team miss so many short shots. I know they are contested, but they are missing shots they normally make and should make. That Collison three was just not fair!!! Doesn't look good for the Jayhawks

Kris Honel
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 24, 2007 -> 01:07 AM) Ehh, Corwin seems to have started dropping off around the same time testing started beginning... Pure coincidence. Corwin has always had a big muscular body and still does. Corwin dropped off when injuries caught up with his lack of work ethic and immaturity. Corwin has since grown up a lot and worked very hard trying to get back. Physically he is in great shape and those I know say his approach to the game is totally different now. It's a shame that sometimes it takes a career-threatening injury to get someone headed in the right direction.
