  1. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 24, 2007 -> 09:15 PM) WHO CARES? Their taking care of business like they should(which, in their case, is a step up), but they have yet to prove themselves. All of that means absolutely nothing to anyone except you.
  2. Michigan State starts the 2nd half with two turnovers in their first two possessions. Then, they fould Armon Basset while attempting a stupid three and he promptly knocks down all three FT's. IU better not lose this game.
  3. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 24, 2007 -> 09:06 PM) It's too bad that Kansas hasn't beaten a tourney team since December. Anyone can beat up on the Iowa States, Nebraskas and Colorados of the world. Call me when they get another quality win. Maybe then I'll be impressed. At least they are beating the s*** out of those teams. You may not be impressed, but many are.
  4. IU up ten, 30-20 at the half @ MSU. Neitzel is sick and has been almost non-existent. Earl Calloway has not played. MSU has 14 turnovers at the half. This seems to be the letdown I was hoping MSU would have after beating Wisky this week. Erin Andrews is smokin! SIU only up three on Evansville 43-40 with 17 minutes left.
  5. Michigan State with 9 turnovers in the first 10 1/2 minutes of the game. IU has drained 5 threes Note: 8:55 mark of the first half for Vitale's first reference to IU naming a basketball facility after Bob Knight. STFU Dick! The Hoosiers are sporting an Under Armor type sleeveless undershirt tonight. Much better look than the t-shirt.
  6. Man, I HATE 8pm starts. I can't remember the last time IU played a Saturday night game.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Feb 24, 2007 -> 02:29 PM) These are nothing. There are pictures floating around, supposedly of her, giving an ex boyfriend oral pleasure. It's linked through Dlisted. I saw them with his johnson blurred. If they are indeed her, Idol will have something to think about. If they are indeed wanting to keep a family image, they may have to get rid of her.

QUOTE(G&T @ Feb 24, 2007 -> 04:44 PM) You can buy every episode on I-Tunes. I think you can only get re-caps on nbc.com. I'd have to buy an Ipod first, I would assume.
  9. That was a thrashing Kansas put on Iowa St. I wouldn't sell them short at all come tournament time, #1 seed or not.

Am I the only one that thinks this Vote For the Worst thing is stupid and just wish it would go away?

I'm pissed. For some reason, my DVR did not record The Office this week or Wednesday night's American Idol. It has recorded everything else this week, so I have no clue what happened. So I missed this episode. I assume that it is not available online anywhere?
  12. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Feb 24, 2007 -> 11:23 AM) Hey Rowand or any of you other MVC fans, what do you think about Indiana States chances next year with 4 of their 5 starters returning. They are also getting Clayton Vette, a 6'9" center out of Iowa who is supposedly pretty damn good. I'm not sure who else their picking up as I have not found a site that covers ISU or even MVC recruiting. Thanks. See Evansville this year
  13. I can't believe no one has mentione Hi Ho Cherry-O
  14. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 10:03 AM) Now is not the time to dump Jamar. Now is the time to make sure he is ok. Make sure he understands the consequences of his actions. Make sure that, even though he effed up and effed up bad, he still has a support group around him. You turn your back on him now, and there's no telling what he might do. I do agree, however, he shouldn't have been on the bench. After you've all nailed him to the cross, has anyone thought about Jamar? Maybe he's realized what he's done and struggling with it. How would any of you like it if you screwed up and your entire support system turned its back on you? I'm not saying he shouldn't be kicked off the team. Or kicked out of school. I'm saying, NOT NOW! We aren't talking about a 29 year old who should know better. We're talking about a 19 year old that should know better but is still young and is going to make some horrible decisions. He should stand up to it like a man, but help him find his way. Allowing Smith to be on the bench with his teammates is NOT helping him. Helping him is being there for him. Off the court. If Bruce Weber wants to support him and help the kid through a tough time, I have no problem with that, but there should be no Illini uniform involved. He should have access to counseling sessions and time with teammates and/or coaches away from the athletic facilities. He should not be part of the athletic process right now at all. What I am losing in all of this is where is the guy's FAMILY? What is his family history? It seems to me his family should be more, or at least as much, responsible for supporting him in this tough time. Supporting him and allowing him to participate in team on court activities (games, practices, film sessions, etc) do not have to go hand in hand.
  15. Would Naked Baby Oil Twister count as a board game? The spinner is on a piece of cardboard!

Did Ryan just say that Sanjaya was in the top four guys? That has to be a freakin joke! I thought Paul was better than several of the other guys and had more potential. I wasn't sold on Rudy's performance, but would not have been surprised if he stayed. I think he really picked a bad song for him. Alaina should have gone home tonight, but I think she got by on her looks. The two girls that went home were more on the plain side. For those that have seen Catfight, is it not a rock band? I had the impression that was the case. If so, I am somewhat surprised at Gina's song choices. It seems like she could separate herself from the others if she could pull off the rocker chick thing. Oh, and please remind me to skip the first 5 minutes next week. That group song was about as fun to watch as would be getting shot in the head.

I have been thinking about buying a Roomba, the robotic vacuum cleaner most of you have likely seen on TV. Does anyone have one? I'd like some info if anyone has any experience with them. Roomba They are currently selling it for $264 (w/ discount code) including an accessory kit or $179.99 for a refurbished model. Thoughts??
  18. They threw some serious info at us tonight. I liked how they went back to before the bombs went off. They still left enough mystery to make you want more, but tonight they gave me exactly what I wanted... more background on Jake and Hawkins.

I missed the first six girls tonight, but my hunch is that Melissa Doolittle will outshine LaKisha in the long run. LaKisha set the bar for herself awfully high tonight and I think she may have trouble living up to it.
  20. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Feb 21, 2007 -> 07:33 AM) The Missouri Valley keeps cannibalizing itself, much to the delight of the Selection Committee. Last night Bradley lost to UNI in Peoria, Wichita State lost to Missouri State in Wichita, and Creighton lost to Illinois State in Bloomington-Normal. Creighton is picking one heck of a time to fall apart. To the delight of the Selection Committee? Which Committee members have you had lunch with that echoed this sentiment?

I have two plasmas and have slight "burn-in" from watching shows in 4:3 and not stretching them. Catch is, the ONLY time I see it is when the screen is blank (cable box turned off/TV still on). I have never seen any evidence of it when ANY program, movie or game is on the screen. I inherited these plasmas, so I did not have them from the beginning. But I do know that burn-in just isn't the issue it used to be and it can be basically avoided completely with proper procedures in the first 100 viewing hours. I don't think there is a clear-cut choice between plasmas and LCD's. But the myths of shorter life and burn-in are no longer real issues. If you are going to stay with a smaller TV, go with an LCD. At 42" the choice gets a little cloudy. Bottom line, do your research. Put any model # you look at into a search at pricegrabber.com. Check out bestbuyplasmas.com (not affiliated with Best Buy). Might be worth paying for shipping and saving the sales tax if the deal is right. In general, Panasonic TV's get good reviews but are slightly pricier. In looking for a new 26" LCD, I have liked Sharp, Phillips and Samsung TV's. Costco sells Vizio TV's which are a good value, but not the quality of the other brands. Costco has a fairly high rate of return on them, but they sell a ton of them too.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Feb 21, 2007 -> 03:33 AM) Ugh, stay away from Plasma at all costs. Plus Im making an assumption here but I think Red & White likes to play video games atleast sport ones and thats a big no on plasma anyways. Why stay away from plasmas? What makes them not good for sport video games? Unless you can convince me otherwise, my guess is you are listening to the wrong people.
  23. QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Feb 21, 2007 -> 12:38 PM) Need a little help. I'm part owner of an apartment complex, and we pay utilities. I want to convert the ceiling fans from 3 or 4 bulbs to one bulb. I've done it before, but I can't find the caps to make this conversion anywhere (Home Depot, lighting stores, etc). Anyone know where to find these? Also, I want to find industrial carpet at a price cheaper than $0.53/sq ft that HD has. Any ideas? This is the type of stuff that should be easy to find on the net. Unfortunately, you have to sift through 10,000 web sites that are not useful before finding what you want. Help. The money I save will be invested in Sox gear and 30 packs of Bud Light. Rather than convert them from 3-4 bulbs to one, why not just spend a few extra bucks on long lasting bulbs (halogen, I think?) that are more energy efficient. It would be expensive at first, but save on energy and they last several years. Just a thought?
  24. I've been a big Jericho fan from the beginning. I am looking forward to learning more about Jake and Hawkins. Jake still has an air of mystery about him and the period he disappeared from Jericho, returning just before the bombs went off. Hawkins, also is very intriguing. Although he has show ID as being an FBI agent, there is still more to him. His icy relationship with his wife and kids is interesting too. I think the show is going to get started quickly tonight, after such a long layoff. I find it somewhat strange that "season two" is starting tonight, yet we are still in the same year as "season one". CBS just decided to force a 2-3 month break on us. The recap show last week was great because it caught you up on what has gone on, yet gave you other tidbits that were not in the original episodes. I am planning on watching Jericho tonight while I DVR Idol. I figure fast-forwarding through the commercials, I should be able to get through Idol by 9:30 at the latest.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Feb 21, 2007 -> 06:14 PM) I meant to ask yesterday, but forgot -- was the male contestants vote off that went on a minute long speech complimenting the looks of fellow male competitors? I heard this in another room, and may have misinterpreted several words. I did hear Seacrests' statement of "Glad I'm on the other coach," though. All I could think to myself is, this guy is gone. Don't even need to hear his voice. I'm a tolerant person, but from my position it just sounded incredibly....gay. And I wouldn't put it past voters to completely sour on whoever said those comments. It was a freakin joke
