  1. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 12:43 PM) 1060 W. Addison Blues Brothers has forever guaranteed that I know the address of that dump.
  2. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 12:15 PM) They may be crap because they are indoors.. but the facilities themselves are not crap. domes are crap in theory...teams in football and baseball shouldn't have them.
  3. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 12:09 PM) The obvious answer is missing. Nice Sox fan.. :rolly REally...where's the urinal at?
  4. QUOTE(SoCalSouthSider59 @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 12:34 AM) Why don't you have a Sox tuxedo on? You weren't very prepared for this wedding, were you?
  5. Just when I think the spending it coming to a halt...I go to the Post Office to get my bat, and they have all these cool WS pictures on display. So I spend another quick $40. If anyone hasn't seen them, they have about an 8 X 10 picture at the top, and a stamp looking picture below it. I bought one that has the team celebrating the win on the field and the one with the Giant Flag on US Cellular. However, it doesn't come with Steff crying. I asked.
  6. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 10:24 AM) Does anyone here know what the Yankees offered for Aaron Rowand? What exactly did we turn down? I don't think there was an offer...just a Yankees inquiry. The problem is, what do they have that we want? Maybe we can trade him for A-ROD?
  7. QUOTE(salty99 @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 09:36 AM) Parking is going up to $18 from $17 a car. I stand by lot G at $8 an hour and a half before game time. Maybe that will be $9 now.
  8. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 09:22 AM) 1. Soxtalk.com Shameless Promoter
  9. Man, I never got molested when I was 15. Lucky kid.
  10. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 04:52 PM) It has been said Anderson has a better arm and more range in CF. And should hit for more avg and with more pop. Exactly the kind of stuff I want to know. Thanks. is there a good site to get scouting reports on players?
  11. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 04:48 PM) Ummm, if the Phils were stupid enough to want A-row for Abreu I would hope KW pulls the trigger that instant. Abreu is a superior baseball player. He has a career .411 OBP .303 BA and an OPS of .923. He is a superior hitter compared to Kong as well. With Abreu as a DH and Anderson in CF. Even with Kong gone I consider this an improvement on this team, offensively especially. He is a five tool player in his prime right now. Heres and ESPN scouting report for those who want other opinions. 2004 Season Bobby Abreu has begun to receive the national recognition that has eluded him for so much of his career. He made his first All-Star team and became the first Phillies player in more than a decade to win a Silver Slugger Award. He had the second 30-30 season of his career and batted over .300 for the sixth time in his last seven seasons. And yet there are still those who believe he has batting champion or Most Valuable Player-type potential that he still hasn't begun to tap. Hitting Part of the puzzle of Bobby Abreu is that he is such a talented hitter that he's hard to categorize. He can hit for power and probably could hit 40 homers if he was willing to sacrifice his batting average. He has said repeatedly, though, that his goal is to win a batting title. He's patient, walking 127 times in 2004 and boasting a .412 lifetime on-base percentage. He has a good knowledge of the strike zone with no obvious weaknesses. He hits fastballs and breaking balls equally well and doesn't give in against lefthanders. Baserunning & Defense Abreu made his greatest strides in the field in 2004. He'd always had a rap as a player who was an indifferent fielder at best, especially going toward the wall. But he worked on that aspect of his game and made several catches on the warning track. His 13 outfield assists attest to his strong throwing arm. His above-average speed helps him both in the field and on the basepaths. He employs a quick popup slide that sometimes fools umpires into calling him out when he's actually beaten the throw. 2005 Outlook Abreu is entering the third season of a five-year, $64 million extension and has firmly established himself as one of the league's best all-around hitters. What's interesting is that some club officials, primarily general manager Ed Wade, still believe he can be even better. I like the way that sounds....lets get him and Kong...
  12. What is the outlook for him? What kind of scouting reports are out there? How many tools does he have? I know we saw him this year, but I don't really know what to expect from him. What are the thoughts on trading ARow and starting this guy in Center?
  13. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 04:26 PM) I've got a Tivo and a digital RCN box which both delay the games a second or 2 on television, so listening to the radio broadcast while watching on TV is out of the question. Besides, I like to hear a few "he gones" during the game. And with all due respect to John Rooney,(whoever they hire will be a downgrade) if I am only able to listen to the game on the radio, I will listen no matter who the PBP man is, and no matter who is doing the color. Ooh, that lag is bad...especially in HD. I heard the World Series Winner about 3 seconds before I saw it.
  14. I'm looking into it. A couple of my die-hard bar buddies want to go. Sounds like fun. I'll need some travel info
  15. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 04:20 PM) No offense to Ed.. but I'm likely not going to listen at all. John made the broadcast for me. It wont be the same without him. Exactly, I don't understand why they aren't looking for a play-by-play guy and leave Farmer on 'color'...so I'm worried less about the pre-game dude, despite liking Brian.
  16. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 03:26 PM) The thing is, people tend to remember the last thing that happened in certain cases. Meaning, since we went 11-1 during the playoffs and ended up winning the World Series. People like you tend to forget what it was like during the regular season when the team didn't hit for s***. The offense sucked this year in general and an upgrade is necessary. I highly doubt the Sox get as lucky in '06 as they did in '05, with the timely hitting and non-injuries. Changes need to be made. We need that lefty power bat...and 1st base/DH is the easiest way to do that...
  17. I'm still worried about Farmer being the play by play guy.
  18. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 04:08 PM) Ahhhhhh!!! My husband will kill you for posting that link!!! Its getting out of hand I need a loan!
  19. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 03:47 PM) I've been wondering this for a while. What the hell is O__o? That's his face when he reads our crazy ideas he tinks we crazy
  20. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 03:21 PM) Steff is in the know. Her third cousin's, neighbor's Uncle once talked to the guy, who is dating the girl, that knows Jerry Reinsdorf. Its very reliable. Was green needed?
  21. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 02:49 PM) Bryan will be doing pre & post for Notre Dame mens basketball I hear which is good for him. I also hear that the Score will not be bringing him along to do the Sox pre & post.. which, IMO, is bad for Sox fans. I liked him....that's too bad. And I'm sorry he had to take a ND job.
  22. Ok, back on topic. I picked up a Sox blanket today. And going to get monopoly soon.
  23. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 01:32 PM) Then your going to be angry because the Sox had that up in there lockeroom during ther playoffs..... That's it...I'm becoming a Cubs fan. No green needed, but I don't want anyone to think I've lost my mind. So, how did that end up in the locker room?
  24. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 01:28 PM) I call that, and raise you this..... http://www.steinersports.com/ssm/control/p...d=WHITPHS016013 If I had the money, I think that is awesome. What? Notre Dame sucks. I don't want our World Champs associated with that f***ing school. :puke
  25. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 01:13 PM) It applies to existing holders. So what? you get to buy extra tix to these games?
