  1. QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 12:41 PM) I took an hour and a half to get home when it's usually only an hour. Not bad I guess. My biggest problem were the people driving down country roads at 20MPH. I had to pass a line of about 6 cars all at one time because they were all going so damn slow and NOBODY would go around the lead car. You don't count...we're talking about people in chicagoland...
  2. I'm in oakbrook...took me an hour to get to Stickney (by Midway)...but I left here at 3:30. I heard some people here had 5 hour commutes. Another guy tried waiting it out. Stayed until 8pm...got home at 11:30. Unreal.
  3. I lucked out. I've got a contact down there and was able to slide into someone's cancellation. They did it on a Wed, got my first billing friday. I got 3rd row on the 3rd base side, a litte past the dugout. Its nice to know people! I also had a season ticket holder package for the 2005 playoffs...lower level, all 11 games. Again, good to know people.

QUOTE(drowninginflame @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 12:42 PM) I fell asleep so I completely missed this but apparently I am in the video or dvd or whatever it was. If you are Paul Konerko, then yes, you are in it.
  5. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 12:10 PM) Willis for BMac? no, f*** that. I personally like McCarthy more than Willis who is extremely prone to having bad second halves of the season. McCarthy is further away from free agency and will be cheaper, longer. Kalapse, you took the words right out of my mouth. I think McCarthy is going to be a f***ing STUD.
  6. I want Bill Mueller...not Tony G. Tony, I thank you for your contribution this year, but I don't want you on the team. sorry.

QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 11:15 AM) Brooks said in his press release for this video it will feature Sox commercials and the "famous" pregame video montage and player intros. None of those were on last night. They are on the DVD...

QUOTE(kevin57 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 11:47 PM) I liked it. It concentrated much more on the regular season. So, this combined with the other DVD will make a nice set. Agreed. They spent 45 on the regular season and then 15 on the post...so it was obvious that this is a companion for the other DVD.
  9. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 01:42 PM) Just another note on the bonus features: I know some around here were hoping for the the opening intro video with the Pirates of the Caribbean theme. Well, you get half of that. They changed the song based probably on, as suspected, copyright issues. Still pretty cool. The parade coverage was pretty sweet too! They had Thunderstruck on there...seems weird that they didn't get the Pirates of the Caribbean song...does that have to do with it being in a movie?
  10. John, it would be amazing to see what things you would be up to today. Your music transcends generations and your messages are inspiring. Its just too bad you had to meet Yoko. :puke
  11. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 07:58 PM) Book a flight out to AZ if its at all possible Tony. You could get whatever auto you want there, plus you get to enjoy great weather and you get a quick early baseball fix. So spring training is the way to go. Ok. I've never been...maybe its time.
  12. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 04:47 PM) Tony can't read the Bible the way you can. He doesn't believe that God wrote it or influenced it. He believes that only mere men thought of it and wrote it down on paper. How do you learn or know God's grace if you can't believe in the Bible? I have faith for parts of the bible, but not all. A lot of the stories are just that, stories to teach a lesson etc. Bottom line is this, without being there to see Jesus and the things that happened, I cannot be 100% sure of what I'm reading. Was there are last supper? I don't know. I didn't attend it, nor did the media. The proof is past down is writings from over 2000 years ago. No one can be sure of what they are reading. You have to have faith. i'm saying I don't have it.
  13. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 04:36 PM) If you think that the Bible was written by man then you are not a Christian. The Bible was written by God through the Holy Spirit. The men wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit (2 Pet. 1:21). They wrote not in words of human wisdom but in words taught by the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 2:13). You can take everything in the Bible literally if you wish. Some will take the story of Noah as literal and others will take it as a story. That is entirely up to you. If you want to believe in a story of a talking snake as literal that is entirely up to you as well. It was written by men...including the part you just quoted. Hey, I hi-jacked your thread. Bottom line, you need to get your wife out of this s*** and it sounds like that is going to be tough. It sure sounds like some brain-washing takes place. I feel you have to be weak to get involved in this thing, because you are looking for others to tell you what to do. She is weak and needs your strength.
  14. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 04:32 PM) My basic stance is, God has shown grace. He gave us that through Jesus. Period. NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING else matters, if you believe that much. Catholic, Protestant, Methodist, whatever, NONE of that matters, and you can't let some idiot PERSON tell you anything else. We all get warped by these so-called religions. I think the whole structure of religion is my turn-off. When I hear about groups like the Scientologists or JW, I wonder how anyone can buy into that crap and want to be part of it.
  15. I'm hoping Owens goes crazy in spring training, gets the job, and can be our guy. Probably a long shot this year. Then you've got your number 2 hitter.
  16. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 04:17 PM) If you don't beleive in Jesus or God, that's your premise. I'm not one to judge. But, for those who are Christians, denominations and the like is not your answer - and most of the time people think it is. The direct quotes from Jesus/God (the same thing) is where the answers are, not the legalism of a church (denomination). You know what...I don't know what to believe. I hope there is a God and there is an afterlife, but I find it hard to believe. I think after you die, its all over. Hopefully I am wrong and haven't led a life that would leave me on the outs. And a lot of the bible is stories meant to teach a lesson. Anyone who tells me Noah built a big boat and outlasted a 40 day flooding is off their rocker.
  17. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 04:07 PM) But you both have to be willing and patient to accept that your views may be different - but remember, it's not about what someone says, it's about what the BIBLE says, because 99.9% of the time, people get it wrong. A book written by people, about a spiritual being, is where the answers lie? Come on. Next you're going to tell me that Noah existed. Why am I in this thread? :Talking to Self: Get out Satan!
  18. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 04:03 PM) Not sure on a schedule. Best bet will be Soxfest. From 2005 who I have: Konerko, Crede, Podsednik, Rowand, Pierzynski, Dye, Hermanson, Thomas, Buehrle, Garland, Bajenaru, Borchard, Harris, Gload Problem is, that is sold out.
  19. Now that the Sox have won the WS, it seems like there are a lot more autograph signings. Anyone know of any coming up? What's the best way to keep track of these events? Any help would be awesome. So far, from the 2005 team, I have Politte, Jenks, Konerko, Rowand, Uribe, Raines, Garcia, and Everett.
  20. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 03:37 PM) Tony I don't know exactly what you are saying here. Am I an idiot? I don't believe I am involved in this type of group. My wife is an idiot? Sometimes we are just looking for something and lead down the wrong path by others we trust. Sometimes we just want to believe in something so badly that we fall into something like this. I would not consider her an idiot whatsoever. My opinion, which doesn't mean s*** anyway, is that people who get wrapped up in groups like these, are idiots. Maybe I'm the idiot. I spent my whole life in catholic school, and I couldn't tell you the last time I was in church.
  21. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 03:40 PM) Did I mention that I did some shots with him on sunday night? Name-dropper
  22. The only church I worship at is U.S. Cellular Field. Ozzie Kenny Thome Paulie

    Dear Life,

QUOTE(The Critic @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 01:23 PM) So was that a CRASH course you had to get to??? ....sorry..... Hope you're okay and that there's no serious damage to your hand/wrist. Seriously, a man needs to have working hands. Especially if single.
  24. Another example of how dangerous religion can be. And I'm sorry, but to even get involved in this type of group, makes me think you are an idiot. Sorry. My favorite is always the crazy christian, blowing up a doctor's office, because abortion is bad. Welcome to planet earth, land of the dumb.
