QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 09:18 AM) Seriously? Durant is a top 15 guy, Oden is a top guy, Carmelo was a top guy. Beasley is kind of a tweener. He doesnt excel on the outside and will basically have to bang against bigger guys in the post. I wouldnt put him up there with top picks of the last several drafts IMO. Well they won't reach their ceilings overnight, they are 19. Howver, as the Nowitzkis, Iversons and Garnetts continue to get Older, players like Beasley and Rose will take their place.

QUOTE(knightni @ Mar 24, 2008 -> 09:46 PM) This is the first year in awhile that there seems to be no clearcut #1 guy. Beasley is the best of them if he comes out, but he'd be no better than Top 5 pick, compared to other years. Sorry Dude, I think you are wayyyy off on this. Derrick rose is a special talent and Beasley is even more special than him. I think both of these guys have a great chance to develop into top 15 players in the league (maybe even more) . I would trade any single player and most 2 player packages to obtain one of these two if I were John Paxson.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 22, 2008 -> 07:05 AM) But who knows, maybe it's to time to free up some room, and try to target Lebron / Wade when they hit FA. I would hope for that to be one of paxsons options.

My opinion of Noah is the same as Tyrus Thomas, They do not get enough minutes. The Bulls have NO IDEA how to develop young players and will eventually trade them for crap ( Like they did with Tyson Chandler) . Lopez will not change anything if he comes to Chicago.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 20, 2008 -> 06:15 AM) Drew Gooden is the scoring big man we have been missing for years. The Wallace trade was a winner just for dumping Ben's salary, let alone getting Drew Gooden. Do you trade Gooden if it means dumping Hughes in the same trade ? (for cap relief) ie The Jamal Crawford, Jerome Williams Deal to the knicks

although they play different positions. This year Tyson Chandler > Luol Deng

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 06:11 PM) I said battling for a playoff spot, not neccesarilly winning one. Well, you would be battling for a lottery pick too. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 06:11 PM) I said battling for a playoff spot, not neccesarilly winning one. Phoenix is only 2 games above .500 against the West, and yet they've won something like 42 games haven't they? It's ok to do when you win 84% of your games against the east. Though, Orlando has won 71% of their games vs Eastern Competition. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 06:11 PM) I If Orlando has played more on the road for example, then you have to take into account the amount of travel (from roadtrips etc.) they would do, compared if they were based out of I dunno, Sedona for example. Point taken, but I don't know if that would put you in the top 8, with 1 more loss under the current circumstances you would be out. The 07-2008 Orlando Magic would make the playoffs any year ,in either conference since 1984 (start of the 16 team format) , except in the 2008 Western Conference.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 03:58 PM) I think the Magic would still be battling for a playoff spot if they were in the West though. You really think so? Here is the record of Orlando and every Western Playoff team vs The Western Conference LA Lakers 26-10 Houston 23-13 San Antonio 23-16 Utah 26-15 New Orleans 29-14 Phoenix 20-18 Dallas 26-12 Golden state 20-13 Denver 22-17 Portland 20-17 Orlando 14-13 DO you really think you can get by playing 1 game over .500 against the west? As it is now, with Eastern Conference Competition, Orlando would barely be an 8th seed in the West, Having a .636 winning % compared to .635 from Golden St. If you placed Orlando in the West, they would have a very small chance at the playoffs . It is fair to say that Orlando would have 5 fewer wins and 5 more losses , putting them at 37-29 with a .560 winning percentage. That would put them in between 9th place Denver and 10th Place Portland. Good enough for 10th place. According to the Hollinger Playoff Odds, Denver has a 49.7% chance at the Playoffs and Portland has a 0.5 % chance at the playoffs, so you do the Math on where Orlando would be.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 04:39 PM) The top 4 teams in the East IMHO are the better than 2007. After that, it really, really drops off though. Toronto and Philly are the only 2 teams I could see maybe winning a series (albeit, a long shot). It drops off in the east after Detroit and Boston. Those are the only 2 that have any shot to do anything big. Cleveland,Orlando,Toronto all have inflated records from playing in such a weak conference.

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Mar 11, 2008 -> 07:27 AM) the supporting cast is much better in Utah than in New Orleans. Steve, You lost me on this. I would say the supporting casts are close to even.

QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Mar 9, 2008 -> 11:59 PM) knowing Jerry... he's gonna trade the 14 pick for a late 1st rounder and a 2nd or 3rd rounder. I would not mind that at all. He's picked up arguably as many quality players in the 2nd rd compared to the 1st . 1st rounders 2002 29th-Marc Colombo 2003 14th-Michale Haynes, 22nd-Rex grossman 2004 14th-Tommie Harris 2005 4th-Cedric Benson 2006 No Pick 2007 31st-Greg Olsen 2nd rounders 2002 No Pick 2003 35th-Charles Tillman 2004 47th-Tank Johnson 2005 39th-Mark Bradley 2006 42nd- Daniel Manning, 57th Devin hester 2007 62nd- Dan Bazuin -

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Mar 6, 2008 -> 09:09 AM) Unless they do something soon to change my mind, the Bears seem to be headed toward taking a WR in the first two rounds. I'd prefer they go OT over WR in the first, because you can hopefully get someone who can step right in and dominate. OT is a must in the 1st imo, a good wr can be had in the 2nd and I don't know how you can pass on a rb in the 3rd with all the depth at that position in the draft. My Wish List Free Agent Signings: G Jake Scott WR Bryant Johnson Ot Shane Olivea Extension for Tommie Harris 1st- OT Jeff Otah- Pitt 2nd-Wr Devin Thomas - Michigan St 3rd-RB- Ray Rice- Rutgers 4th-SS-Craig Steltz LSU 5th-G-Robert Felton Arkansas 6th - QB Sam Keller Nebraska 7th- Wr Anthony Alridge Houston -

QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 02:48 PM) Yes, he does. No argument there. But I'm not underestimating the Clinton machine. If Obama wears his seat belt wherever he goes, he just may stand a chance.
-
QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 02:36 PM) Just making a prediction my friend. I don't bet unless it's for the explicit purpose of having having fun. IE, an NCAA basketball pool, a night at a casino with a hard and fast limit or a night playing poker with friends. I've never placed a bet with a bookie. Just making a point that Obama has the inside track.
-
QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 01:46 PM) Billary is gonna get the nomination. You sound confident go bet some money http://www.bodoglife.com/sports-betting/political-props.jsp at 5/2 odds you can more than double your money. Obama is at 1/3 so you won't make much there.

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 11:08 AM) AJ, come on bro. Aren't you a little more concerned with filling the #1 than with filling the #2 at this point? Who's going to be our #1? You don't need to throw $55 mill at Javon Walker to make a good move. Don't you think our 1st and 4th would net us a Chad Johnson? You have to get Rex a #1 option finally or he's just being set up to fail again. Patch the o-line in rounds 2 and 3... maybe trade Urlacher. GET CREATIVE DAMMIT! Well steve, How do you know something is not in the works? I have faith in JA. Draft day is his specialty. I have no doubt, that good things are on the way. This is how the bears to-do list should look: 2 OL 1 WR 1 Safety ( insurance for Mike Brown) resign ayanbendejo They have 7 Picks ( 3-4 who should be instant contributors) and about 17 mil- 5 mil for rookies = 11 mil left in cap space (which should be enough for 2-3 starters) Right there you see we have the picks and the cap room to bring in 5-7 key contributors. -

QUOTE(shipps @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 10:47 AM) When did I ever say throw 55 million at Walker? How about draft better and be more strategic in a trade with someone?Angelo is supposed to be a professional at making decisions like these and we wind up with not even a valid number 2 reciever let alone a number 1.I dont know, maybe he will draft a good one this year but history suggests otherwise. Booker is a solid 2. The season is 6 months away. I am very with the offseason so far. -

QUOTE(shipps @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 10:05 AM) OOOOOOOOH.So they are replacing an old and bad wide reciever with another old and bad wide reciever. They know hes awful also? Now I feel so much better about this. Ok. So lets throw 55 Million at a receiver like Javon Walker and Lose BOTH Tommie Harris and Devin Hester in the next 2 years. You seem like a rational thinker. This isn't baseball. Football has a Salary Cap. -

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 09:06 AM) I love how the Bears have lowered expectations so far that fans are getting excited about MARTY BOOKER. He's 32 and hasn't been worthwhile since the Bears traded him. Seriously, if this is our #1, count me out. QUOTE(shipps @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 08:54 AM) I have the same feeling with this signing as I did when the sox signed Erstad. The team will try to push this as a significant signing but he isnt going to be a factor in the key stats such as catches and TD's which matters most. Both of you are mistaken. This is a piece to replace Moose Nothing More. Would you rather overpay for Berrian that would put the Bears in Salary Cap Hell for the next 5 seasons? Don't forget , extensions for Tommie Harris and Devin Hester will be coming up. I'd rather not lose those 2 because of stupid spending.
