  1. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Aug 31, 2007 -> 11:17 AM) Doesn't the original post openly attack the religious beliefs of others? from my understanding the video is just a call to action to christians.
  2. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 31, 2007 -> 11:09 AM) If this is directed at both BlackSox and myself, then it's a fair cop. When he threw the stone with the first post I took the same derisive tone in my followup. I don't see how he offended you. I didn't catch the video mocking athiesm. You would not get a peep out of me if there was a "fear athiesm" thread with a 14 minute video talking about athiesm. I likely would not even click on the thread, let alone posting videos mocking it. Why can't people just live and let live?
  3. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 31, 2007 -> 11:08 AM) If you start a thread with the title "Fear God" then you should expect someone to poke fun. Oh, thats how you can get away with being prejudiced around here. Thanks for the insight.
  4. All I want to add is, stop poking fun at religous beliefs of others. You can't be sure if it offends people or not. Just as we don't poke fun at race, sexuality ect. religion should be off limits too(all religions, not just christianity). I don't see how it is any different than racism and one who is prejudiced towards gays.
  5. QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Aug 31, 2007 -> 08:47 AM) I did the same thing for a few days, but now "podcast" has disappeared from the "genres" list. I can't even find the podcasts under songs or artists like I have a few times. maybe you have to re-subscribe?
  6. Since our team is obviously out. Who is your top alternative for the stretch run? Teams currently in the postseason(If playoffs started today): AL Red Sox Yankees Indians Angels NL Mets Cubs Dbacks Padres Teams within 5 games of division or Wildcard: AL Tigers Mariners NL Phillies Braves Cardinals Brewers Dodgers Rockies I am adopting the Phillies
  7. Hey Jim, for a senior citizen, you sure don't act your age. If blacksox8 posts a thread titled "Fear God" that should be a hint to you that it might not be your type of thread. Now, had he posted a thread titled "Does God Exist?" , that might be the greenlight for you to jump in and debate. Oh wait, again, that wasn't even debating, you were mocking his beliefs in a thread he started. Big Man, Jim. I don't think he posted the vid to get mocked. Like all other soxtalk threads, Stick with the thread title if you want to take part. Otherwise, get your own thread. I really would expect a lot more from someone who has been here as long as you. And no, I will not turn this into a 28 page debate with you like a lot of other filibuster threads. This is not a debate, it's really a respect issue.
  8. I just want to add, I seen what happened at WSI with Whitesoxalmanac They are real scum over there. I can see your site is non profit. So I am not sure why they had to whine about it. Not only that, but the tone they used was childish. I hope you Keep posting this date in white sox history here, I appreciate it and am pretty sure I am not alone.
  9. QUOTE(JERMAINEDYE4MVP @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 01:24 PM) LOL WHAT DID I SAY? THE WHITE SOX ARE ONE OF THE WORST TEAM IN PROFESSIONAL SPORTS THEY SHOULD'VE LISTENED TO ME AND MADE THE FIRESALE. Holy Thread Bumping batman!
  10. QUOTE(farmteam @ Aug 29, 2007 -> 02:28 PM) Man, that 04 draft was sweet. The 2003,2004 and 2006 drafts are a HUGE reason for the great position the Bears Franchise is in. Hopefully, Benson proves to be a decent pick at #4 and Grossman keeps improving. I also have high hopes for the 2007 class.
  11. Edit: Sorry for the bad spacing on that post. Didn't mean for it to come out looking like that.
  12. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 29, 2007 -> 10:55 AM) So the question being: Who is more responsible for the Bears success, Jerry or Lovie Jerry for his drafting Quality Picks (IMHO) Rd Sel # Player Position School 2 42 Danieal Manning FS Abilene Christian 2 57 Devin Hester DB Miami (Fla.) 5 159 Mark Anderson DE Alabama 2005 - Chicago Bears Rd Sel # Player Position School 4 106 Kyle Orton QB Purdue 6 181 Chris Harris FS Louisiana-Monroe 2004 - Chicago Bears Rd Sel # Player Position School 1 14 Tommie Harris DT Oklahoma 2 47 Tank Johnson DT Washington 3 78 Bernard Berrian WR Fresno State 4 110 Nathan Vasher CB Texas 2003 - Chicago Bears Rd Sel # Player Position School 1 22 Rex Grossman QB Florida 2 35 Charles Tillman CB Louisiana-Lafayette 3 68 Lance Briggs OLB Arizona 4 100 Todd Johnson DB Florida 4 116 Ian Scott DT Florida 5 139 Bobby Wade WR Arizona 5 143 Justin Gage WR Missouri 6 191 Joe Odom LB Purdue 2002 - Chicago Bears Rd Sel # Player Position School 4 104 Alex Brown DE Florida 5 140 Bobby Gray DB Louisiana Tech 6 199 Adrian Peterson RB Georgia Southern Failed Picks (IMHO) (only considering rds 1-3) 2003 1 14 Michael Haynes DE Penn State 2002 1 29 Marc Colombo T Boston College 3 72 Roe Williams CB Tuskegee Jury is still out (IMHO) 3 73 Dusty Dvoracek DT Oklahoma1 4 Cedric Benson RB Texas 2 39 Mark Bradley WR Oklahoma I only listed rds 1-3 in consideration for failed picks and jury still out because you can hurt yourself if you have too many bad picks in those rds. Rds 4-7 is considered a crapshoot by many. But for Jerry, he finds a lot of diamonds in the rough.
  13. he has Jerry Angelo success-o-meter: 27-37 (2002-2005 cumulative records) I think he has to update that one.
  14. Kenny has his eye on the prize at all times. Some of the experts in this forum would be too much of a pussy to ever win the World Series. You will always be the oaklands of the world, always a solid team but not in the World Series. Keep taking the safe route, have fun with the 1st rd exits.
  15. This guy has the best job ever!
  16. wow, considering his career was never the same after 2000, I would not be too happy if I were pittsburgh ownership.
  17. wow. I guess the problems here are not as bad as we think.
  18. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 22, 2007 -> 04:36 PM) Well, we're dealing with hypothetical body parts here and much of this is based on personal feelings. I suppose you could make a case that it's opinion, though I'm not sure why anyone would ever consider Aaron Rowand to be "an arm and a leg." Especially when you're getting one of the best power hitting lefties in the game in return. lol great answer
  19. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 22, 2007 -> 10:35 AM) Aaron Rowand is not an arm and a leg, it was made to look worse by the failure of Anderson but Rowand is hardly a finger. is that based on fact?
  20. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 22, 2007 -> 12:42 AM) How isn't he earning his money? I didn't think I had to justify those numbers coming from a hitter who's guaranteed only $21.5M over 3 years from the Sox. Good luck finding a better bargain from a player with at least 6 years of service time. He is a bargain for that price. But you can't act as if he were a free agent pickup. The sox paid an arm and a leg extra, just to get him at a fair salary. BTW, who ever said he isn't clutch, has no idea what they are talking about.
