  1. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 11:18 PM) football if anything is the least predictable, where you coming from with that lol lol no kidding. Football has to be the LEAST predictable of the 3 sports. Basketball is the MOST predictable. No doubt in my mind.
  2. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 2, 2007 -> 04:51 AM) How long did it take you to come up with that one? thats actually pretty good. I might have to steal it
  3. QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 05:23 PM) The biggest issue I have with this deal on the celtics part is the window of opportunity they have at a title.... these are three players with alot of minutes on their bodies, and I'm not sure how great they will be a couple years from now. They will need to get acclomated, and fast.... no growing pain years for this big three... they need to get comfortable and make a run at it now. What does Boston have 3 years from now besides alot of cap issues? aging Garnett, aging Allen, aging Pierce..... my .02 when all those players are off the books, they might have money to go after players like Oden. Too early to speculate, but you aren't screwed when a player retires or leaves. You are screwed if you have too many bad contracts.
  4. QUOTE(knightni @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 01:02 PM) While I appreciate your thread-making abilities; Jose has a "dump-on" thread already made. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=60362 KNIGHTN'D
  5. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 01:36 PM) It almost worries me with how much hype this team is getting. It's extremly hard not to get excited, seeing as this team is beyond stacked, but I always have to remember were in Chicago... 2006 Sox
  6. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 03:52 PM) Doesn't feel like the time to be teasing cubs fans...I don't wanna jinx/unjinx anything... very true. Lets have the last laugh, like 2003.
  7. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 11:28 AM) Can I get those same odds if the Celtics are only 2 games over .500? Pretty please? I might give you those same odds on the sox winning it all this year. White that is.
  8. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 10:14 AM) Ok, I will bet you 5 dollars. since you're cool x infinity , I'll let you keep your $5 and remind you an NBA season only consists of 82 games, not 84.
  9. Hey steve, I am willing to give you 100000 to 1 odds the celts DO NOT finish 43-41
  10. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 01:59 PM) I love this deal.... Another big man moves to the east. Minnesota gets some youth. My spurs will win again, however. I don't know about that, Tim Donaghy won't be around to help the spurs in future game 3's.
  11. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 11:34 AM) I'm way more excited about Devin Hester because he is speedy.
  12. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 10:08 AM) From an episode of Arrested Development I never caught on to that show, but they have an impressive following. They need to get back on the air, they will get the ratings.
  13. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 09:46 AM) "Would you like some foam in your coffee? It's called a cup-i-kino and wait until you see what it costs." wtf are you talking about kalapse?
  14. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 09:37 AM) According to the LA FOX affiliate. Actually, no. I just read the message boards of this video and nobody is talking about hackers. Lots of people said it was a fabricated story. Seemed like a lot of fox haters. Very Weird, what has Homer Simpson ever done to you? Read the youtube message boards under the video. They even have that guy from V for vendetta doing the speach? I never watched v for vendetta, so I don't know who he represents. Whats next? Obama Girl talking like this? lol
  15. QUOTE(Dogfood22 @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 09:05 AM) Nah, I think it went more like this: Theo: Pardon me, Mr. Williams, I see you are practicing the lost art of Shaolin Karate, but I was wondering if I could talk to you about your right fielder Jermaine Dye for a moment. Kenny: (Stops his Karate) Contreras? Theo: No sir, I said Dye. Kenny: I like you Theo, so you give me Masterson and Delcarmen and JD is yours. Theo: Well, you see, I was kind of trying to get rid of Wily Mo Pena, so how about Wily and either Masterson or Delcarmen? Kenny: You're pushing your luck, but I'll think about it. (3 hours later) Kenny: Sup, Theo? You're breaking my balls here, but I'll take Pena and Masterson. Theo: Actually Kenny, on second thought, I really don't want to trade Masterson. Kenny: You don't, huh? You're testing my patience here, but I'm in a good mood today so I'll do Wily Mo and Delcarmen then. Theo: You know Kenny I'm really sorry but I just talked to some people and we really can't afford to trade such a valuable part of our bullpen. Would CoCo Crisp and Pena do anything for you? Kenny: f*** you, cocksucker!!! (Every table within a 50 mile radius flips over) I oughta come over there and whoop your ass! I got s*** to move and your punkass is wasting my muthaf***in' time! You think this is funny? Callin' me up, talking about Wily Mo Pena and CoCo Crisp? I get two draft picks for not doing jack s***! I try to do you a favor by takin' Pena and now you want to dump all your f***in' s*** off on me?!? Well f*** you, Theo, and f*** everyone who looks you! Count your f***in' days, Theo, count your f***in' days. (Hangs up the phone). wow wtf! That is awesome work! Post More!
  16. It's been pretty much the top played video on youtube the last couple days. What does it mean?
  17. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 08:08 AM) Rex had a decent year in his first full year, and by Bears QB standards he still is way at the top of the list(which isnt saying too much, but still). Rex will have more weapons to his disposal, another year with the same OC and the same playbook, and hopefully a little confidence more than cockiness after having a Superbowl year last year. The premise of the season will still be the same, the defense will do what they do and Rex really only has to manage the game, but the prospects of the offense are really exciting this year. If Rex can turn some of those total stinker games into merely mediocre games, his numbers will be through the roof. I feel like a northsider, excited for the bears in July.
  18. WOW. John Clayton was talking on Mike and Mike. They asked him what was the most exciting thing he has seen in all the camps so far. First thing he mentioned, the bears OFFENSE. Yes the offense people. He said Hester was putting on a show in camp and compared him to Steve Smith but only faster. Also talked great about olsen. To see an unbiased point of view mention this gets me a little excited. Honestly, I never expected much from hester except for trick plays. We may have something good here. It's time to get excited about the O. I know all of us are a little worried because of Rex. A quarterback is like a starting pitcher , 1 game you can be DOMINANT, the next completely horrible. Starting pitchers and quarterbacks also can have career years. Don't count Rex out guys.
  19. I'm surprised no on called this. But does anyone think that Boston would get at least a small discount opposed to what other teams would have to offer? I mean, Mchale just might have a soft spot for the team he won championships with while playing with them his ENTIRE career that 13 lasted years. He's on what you call his last leg in minny, at this point it probably does not matter what he does. His faith is probably already determined.
  20. QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 11:42 PM) You and Larry Mayer from Chicagobears.com have very similar styles. Murcie, I know you're not cold enough to link the pwnage, I am. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/ChalkTalk...p?story_id=3633

    Rescue Me

yeah, every year here is different. I appreciate each year for it's own different reasons.
  22. Looks like one of our cub friend fans rigged the vote to leave us in last. We were in 2nd and I find it highly unlikely that every every board BUT soxtalk jumped up as much as they did in the last 24 hours.
  23. wow.... that is awful The inventer of the west coast offense, Walsh will never be forgotten. A legend in his time. RIP
  24. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 01:37 PM) I don't have anything to say about Paris Hilton, per se... but I do find it extremely homoerotic and very questionable that posters have oiled up pictures of wrestlers in their signatures. /PA's thought for the day. mmmmmm manboobs
  25. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 01:27 PM) Wanna calm down and quit crying? I didn't "put words in your post." And the Reggie Bush comparison is just stupid. Hmm, 2nd overall, or 3rd rounder? It's not stupid, the argument is not based on draft round position. You said ALL college football footage is a moot point. There are plenty of 1st rd busts, just ask the Bengals of the 90's.
