Jason, Why don't you put up some advertising. ( like google adsense) I know all kinds of other programs where you can generate money from soxtalk. With the profits you can use it towards the site. I don't see why anyone here would be against that.

I don't think it's a reach. It would be a BIGGER story if it were baseball related and the red sox lost to the mets in the 2007 world series because (insert any slugger here) was caught the following year and was a key reason the mets won the series. I think it helps the athlete a hell of a lot more in football compared to baseball, but it is more scrutinized in baseball.

I could make an example comparing this to the way the nba handles a similar situation. The nba never cared if players were allstars with the 3pt and dunk contest and I agree, we would have never seen the likes of Steve Kerr, Craig Hodges, Harold Miner and JR Rider display simply great performances. MLB should not limit themselves, I will be more likely to tune in with Howard there. He is good at his craft and the reigning champ.
