  1. QUOTE(3 BeWareTheNewSox 5 @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 02:07 AM) While you're at it, throw some love towards our man the Gooch. He's not that far behind, and he's got Japan behind him as well EDIT: Also, if serious for voting for Dye, it may be wise to vote for two other crappy outfielders. Since you have to vote for 3, don't want to raise the count of those ahead of him I have an all sox ballot
  2. Gload do something already! You are being played so we can shop you! The sooner you get some hits, the sooner we can trade your scrub ass for relief pitching!
  3. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 03:15 PM) Jim Thome would not have made Pablo catch those balls, or kept those doubles on the infield, etc. But they sure as hell would have scored more than 2 runs. Even if he didn't get a hit. His prescence alone brings up the confidence of the entire lineup. I firmly belive that.
  4. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 02:45 PM) Probably the coolest thing about this NBA Finals is that there aren't any of the same old teams in it. 2 brand new teams. Since 1987, or the last 19 NBA Finals, there have only been 5 teams to win. The Lakers with 5, Pistons with 3, Bulls with 6, Rockets with 2, and Spurs with 3. very true. Though I would not mind that the bulls are one of those "same old teams"
  5. Gotta go with the Chicago kid. So Wade and the Heat it is. If the mavericks won, I would not be disapointed too. I rooted for them to get here. Just happy the pistons and spurs are out.
  6. I have a small army helping me with votes now . I have about 10 of my friends doing 25 votes a day the rest of the way. If everyone can take 10 minutes and do 25 a day , we can do this. Keep spreading the word.
  7. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 04:01 PM) How many Red Sox and Yankee players do the Cards have to top to get in? It doesnt matter. The votes are still there. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 04:00 PM) That's what I did 125 times today. No BA though. Wrote in Thome as the 3rd OF. Will probably do a few hundred more during the game tonight. Good Idea with Thome. Got 100 in so far. About to start another ballot. The voting is a lot easier than I thought. You just type in the serial number, a few clicks and you're done.
  8. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 03:53 PM) Second Base 1. Robinson Cano, Yankees 289,394 2. Mark Loretta, Red Sox 257,125 3. Tadahito Iguchi, White Sox 246,838 4. Brian Roberts, Orioles 130,702 5. Placido Polanco, Tigers 129,596 Ive been voting for gooch too. Voting is so damn easy. You fillit out the first time, and every time after that the computer remembers your votes. It takes about 15 seconds average for every ballot. Ive been voting in between reading threads. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 03:56 PM) We can get all 3 in if we do an all Sox ballot. we might as well do an all sox ballot.
  9. We are The World Champs in the 3rd Largest Market. Top 10 in attendence. Trying to get The World Series MVP to start. Only 200 k votes behind. And already we have so many naysayers. If you dont want to vote, dont. But dont encourage others not to. This is a Pro Vote thread. If we can gain momentum with this, I can see Brooks Boyer doing something like he did with Pods. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 03:48 PM) I'll continue to do my best. So correct me if I'm wrong...you can use a made up email address for every 25 votes? Ive been doing it that way so far.
  10. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 03:40 PM) Save your time.... Either Ozzie appoints him, or he's on the 32nd man ballot. Then we'll get him in. There's no way he starts, don't bother. If we concentrate on 1 guy, I think we can do it. Cardinal fans do it all the time Not saying we have more fans than the cardinals, but with that population they have over there, and own the balloting every year, I think we can make a run with Dye. Chicago Population 2,783,726 ST Louis 396,685 Cardinal players get in regardless of the popularity. If they have the stats, they are in. Every year. We are the World Champs. Dye has arguably the best stats of any AL outfielder . He is definately leaps and bounds ahead of Damon. We have plenty of time to get the World Series MVP to start the All star game.
  11. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 03:20 PM) JD will be at the game off the bench and in the game when it counts, at the end. Ozzie won't have it any other way. Im sure Ozzie would not like to see Dye Start the All Star Game another thing to note: if we get Dye in as a starter, it would make room for one more non yankee/redsox player possibly an extra white sox.
  12. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 03:15 PM) I just finished 100 votes for the day. 75 here so far
  13. I put in 75 votes all together today. Keep them coming guys

Jermaine Dye, White Sox 183,160 .301 avg 16 HR 41 RBI .671 SLG 1.073 ops top 3 vote getters last year 1 Manny Ramirez, Red Sox 3,117,157 2 Vladimir Guerrero, Angels 3,006,512 3 Johnny Damon, Red Sox 2,800,610 Last White Sox Positional Player voted to start. Frank Thomas 1b 1996 Where to Vote MLB.com (can vote up to 25 times per visit) Schedule: Remaining announcements will be made on the following dates: Monday, June 5 NL Balloting Release #2 Tuesday, June 6 AL Balloting Release #2 Monday, June 12 NL Balloting Release #3 Tuesday, June 13 AL Balloting Release #3 Monday, June 19 NL Balloting Release #4 Tuesday, June 20 AL Balloting Release #4 Monday, June 26 NL Balloting Release #5 Tuesday, June 27 AL Balloting Release #5 Sunday, July 2 AL/NL Starters & Reserves Announced
  15. I just put in 50 votes. If the admin teams for wsi and soxtalk can both pin a thread and start a campaign, Im sure word can spread fast to sox fans everywhere.
  16. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 01:29 AM) We got a lot of help from Red Sox fans that just didn't want to see Jeter in the ASG. It would be a whole s***load harder to get Dye voted into the starting lineup of the All-Star team. we have more time to work just saying.. if sox WS merchandise can be one of the best all time in sales... Im sure we have the fans out there to make some noise for one player. The cards fans do it all the time.
  17. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 12:30 AM) Not the most vintage sig I have but it really is one of my favorites. you going to change his uni to a phillis uni?
  18. QUOTE(SnB @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 12:16 AM) My theory: Jon was waiting for a situation like this so he could step up and be the stopper. Yep, that's it. everyone on the board is going vintage.... so maybe Jon can be vintage jon of 05?
  19. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 12:09 AM) . Timo! Just a year ago on memorial day...
