QUOTE(SnB @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 12:04 AM) the game after the ASG in '03, i sat through a rain delay for 3 hours, then finally decided to leave. When i got home, the game had started, at like 10:45pm. Yeah, I was pissed. against detroit, ancd iirc thats when the wining streak started and hawk shaved his head.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 10:33 PM) I cannot imagine ever leaving a game early. wanna know the real reason your mommy named you 'milkman'?

I was at the Big Frank walk off hr against the twins in 03. When Konerko came up in the bottom of the 9th while we were losing people were walking towards the stands, then they came back when he hit the tying HR. This is the first time in my life time leaving early btw, It's easy for everyone to say they would have stayed. If you weren't there you don't really no for sure. If the score stayed 10-2 , this thread would not be in question.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 10:36 PM) What a loser. :headshake How did your blind date with that guy go tonight?

I feel very stupid right now. I know we did not win, but I can only imagine the energy over there. If the sox won, I would have felt like that redsox comeback scene in fever pitch. did anyone else also leave early?

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 03:33 PM) So when is the league switching to a ten batter format? s***!! I just bought 3 seasons worth of lineup cards with 9 batter formats! :banghead

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 02:51 PM) Man, someone's a little insensitive when it comes to Butkus.... sorry... as a hard core bear fan, some of us have to protect our history. It's our part as fans. It's a damn shame how sayers and Butkus had their jerseys retired on a rainy halloween night getting blown out by green bay. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 02:04 PM) It's a joke, son. Take it easy. no harm, no foul

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 11:18 PM) If your talking wrestlers, can anyone beat the grittiness of Mankind Mick Foley? Also, from what I have read and seen, Ty Cobb was one BAMF. Others that come to mind: Pete Rose, Ronnie Lott, Jack Tatum, Jack Lambert, Brett Favre, and Deacon Jones. Pain pill Brett Favre? Your other pick Deacon Jones would laugh at that favre pick, he would laugh at any quarterback getting picked. I got a chance to talk to Deacon a few years back( he was in town for mike ditkas golf tournament and I was a bartending) and he HATES quarterbacks. He was explaining to me how much the league has changed since his day to protect the quarterback. Deacon was a bad dude. He blurted out Mother f***er every few words, he also had deformed fingers ,probably from his playing days. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 11:37 PM) I guess I'm going to go with Cal Ripken. Pound for pound John Stockton was pretty tough too. Get out of here with those pansy picks. Iron men, HA. Dick Butkus would rip them a part, spit at them and curse out the next 3 generations of their future families. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 12:06 AM) This automatically eliminates Butkus from the argument. The cast of "Hang Time" you need a history lesson son. I really hope you are not a bear fan. Take this quote from a former NFL player. http://espn.go.com/sportscentury/features/00014131.html check this out

QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 01:54 AM) The more often he plays the sooner he will be exposed... ride him out at various positions while he is hot... but don't be shocked too see some errors thrown in. Pablo is a solid hitter... but then again he has very limited gap/power. His ability to draw a walk is lacking... in 408 career at-bats he has walked only 14 times while striking out 44 times ( which is not bad). Pablo simply puts the bat on the ball. Great contact hitter. He puts the ball in play, thats why he is such a good player in clutch situations. But he would get exposed if he were a regular. Pitchers would pitch around him more often than not just because everyone in the ballpark knows walking is the last thing he is trying to do.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 02:05 AM) I love how people hate homeruns... yet they are the only sure hit for a run. I could care less if the sox scored seven runs of singles and doubles... or all off of three homeruns. Anyone ever notice that when the sox have not scored for three innings '' they are swinging for the fences''. Almost never does someone give a pitcher the respect they deserve... or does someone mention that the team cannot pick up a certain guy. Why does no one b**** when the sox are swinging for the fences? Shouldn't they be more content with a single? I am pretty positive most think the red sox... yankees... mets... just swing for the fence too. Reading soxtalk you would think that... 1. Homeruns are bad... a base hit is superior. 2. Everytime a white sox player gets an out it is because they were pulling it for a home run. Thats why we need to overpay for overbay. Or was that last year?

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 10:05 PM) It doesn't really matter, it will be part of his next contract. The clause will give him the option to hit in any game played with the DH. If you try to stop him he will eat your face. He fired Boras. He's currently running with Scott Shapiro and Barry Praver. is that all true?

QUOTE(DePloderer @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 02:36 PM) So, it seems that no matter what banner is up we are losing at the moment. Would anyone like me to reinstate the game banners yet? we are 1-1 with the original crede Banner. Thats not bad considering we have lost 5 of 6. I would stick with the original crede baner for a week. or it may be time to dig out thye old rally crede banner and avatars (depending how we do vs detroit)
