  1. QUOTE (lostfan @ Mar 17, 2009 -> 07:45 AM) If someone gave me Z's contract but said I had to be a Cubs, Packers, and Pistons fan, I'd go out and buy season tickets for all 3 that same day. I'd cheer but theres no way I would be a "fan" of the Cubs and especially the Wolverines.
  2. QUOTE (zenryan @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 04:21 PM) Both Tennessee and Miami fans are happy with this decision. Im happy, Gator hunting time for the Vols.
  3. QUOTE (bschmaranz @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 11:12 PM) What's the knock on this guy? Why hasn't he ever been called up? His AAA numbers look pretty darn nice the last couple years. He's also been putting up ok numbers in the PCL. He's prob just AAA fodder for life.
  4. QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 03:35 PM) I think Jim Edmonds is a DL stint waiting to happen. However, if in the small chance that the Sox sign Edmonds, then I still think Anderson should be in AAA and that the 4th outfielder should be Wise because we need more lefties and speed. Your post makes zero sense. Why would we platoon 2 lefties in CF? BA is also just as fast as Wise and infinitely better defensively in CF. BA rakes LHP, Edmonds rakes RHP. Its not really that difficult of a concept.
  5. Nix def looks better at the plate than Lilli
  6. QUOTE (daa84 @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 04:57 PM) i was really high on flowers (and not on grass) and still am, but he sure hasn't looked like a guy who hit 12 bombs or whatever it was in the AFL He hasnt been above A ball, he's going to take some time to develop.
  7. Flowers looks clueless looking at strike 3
  8. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 04:53 PM) I wouldn't mind Coop and Walker taking Poreda and Viciedo aside and just have AP throw live sliders to him for an hour. It might help both of them. A full year in the minors would probably be more effective.
  9. Backwards K. Not a great at bat. His ass jumps out on breaking balls.
  10. Threw the bat at the ball and it went 300 feet foul.
  11. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 04:42 PM) A lot of Soxtalkers keep insisting that Lillibridge will be a backup on the 25 man roster because of speed and his D but I don't see it happening unless he gets more wood on the ball. He plays good defense at 3 positions, thats why he has a good chance to make the team.
  12. QUOTE (daa84 @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 03:29 PM) so colon looked pretty bad, he doesn't have the stuff to not locate....i imagine its mainly due to the fact that its his first time on the mound really, and that he'll figure it out, but he can't be the hard thrower he was early in his career....he's gonna have to pitch He's been doing that for several years, so its not a problem. Also the only way this outing could be considered bad was if he hurt himself again. Coming back from elbow surgery and pitching this early is a huge win for us, and huge for Colon.
  13. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 02:22 PM) which is something that should be taken into consideration considering the position he would be playing He played a pretty good CF for the Cubs.
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 15, 2009 -> 07:04 PM) No matter what he says, I still cant believe that he was never on the juice. I think you have to question anybody who played in the past 10-20 years, especially someone as large as Pujols. Then every player has been on the juice in the past 10 years? Thats a pretty crappy way to look at things. Pujols succes is not really based on pure power as much as it is his perfect swing and approach.
  15. QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 11:10 AM) how many slow, sluggers does this lineup need? Konerko Thome Dye AJP Fields Quentin (not that slow, but still) Ramirez is fast, so that helps. But we don't need 1 or 2 more station-to-station players. Fields and Quentin are not slow or station to station so you can take them off your list. Having 4 of 9 hitter being called "slow" is not bad at all. Edmonds is not nearly as bad as Thome, Konerko and AJP. Thats not really a good argument against Edmonds.
  16. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 10:27 AM) I use the P90x Ab routine, I kinda stumbled across it in torrent land. The quality of the ab routine was pretty good, the doofus running it will annoy you. I've been doing roughly the same workout outline for about 4 or 5 years and I thought it was time to listen to a trainer for once and my friend recommended this program. The problem wiht personal trainers at my gym is that I am pretty much in better shape than all of them which makes me wonder how qualified they really are to motivate me to work hard.
  17. Apparently the Bears are one of two teams he favors. Get this s*** done. I think the entire Bears camp would be in awe of a QB with an arm like Cutler's.
  18. Hey anyone ever try P90X? I have been feeling very stagnant in my workouts and ordered this set to give it a chance. I've browsed the message boards over there and there are many succes stories.
  19. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 12:12 AM) Can someone please explain why Michigan deserves to be in the tournament besides the customary "they beat Duke and UCLA"? They are one of the top 64 teams in the country. Pretty simple really.
  20. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 09:24 AM) A couple people on TV used this line of reasoning yesterday, and I agree (this is Gary Parrish of CBS Sportsline): I think that's an incredibly important point. IMO the committee shouldn't be looking solely at the number of wins against quality opponents. I think you have to look at that number relative to the amount of people they were able to play. Otherwise the chips are stacked against a small school for simply being small. There's nothing they can do about it. And really, a team like Saint Mary's went on the road something like 13 times and won, so even when you're a small school and you beat good teams on their floor, it still doesn't guarantee you anything. But we all know at the end of the day this tournament is about money. Obviously Arizona will bring in a lot of that. If you are a small school and a lower level of opponents the entire season, your record must be stellar or you must win your conference to get in. Its pretty simple actually for them. On a whole, the 2nd place team in those small conferences barely match up with the 4th or 5th place team in major conferences, its just how it is.
  21. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 15, 2009 -> 09:04 PM) I think Illinois got a good draw here. Are you sure you arent just trying to see the sunshine on a cloudy day? Gonzaga is a pretty terrible draw for Ill.
  22. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Mar 15, 2009 -> 05:08 PM) Sure is. I hate the BCS school love. The tournament selection is just a complete joke again. Sorry, statistics support that mid tier BCS teams are better than non's.
