  1. Injury prone? You mean like the broken wrist that he not only played through, but elevated him game with? Hes 20 years old and will have a small knee surgery. He will be back easily.
  2. JR better be on the phone to see if there is some way to get Terry over here. I know that all the other teams with GM holes will be calling him, but lets offer him more leisure and more money.
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 13, 2007 -> 12:56 PM) Not to mention this part... I still get the feeling that Minnesota did us a favor and overreacted here. Hopefully this is the beginning of the end of the Twins run. Well, he resigned. They didnt say he was fired. So it may just be his decision to go somewhere else. Also I always thought the subtraction of Krivsky hurt him a bit.
  4. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Sep 13, 2007 -> 12:10 PM) Oh yeah. I wonder what he could do with a little money. Terry Ryan with 0 money> KW with largest payroll. Terry Ryan with largest payroll> godzilla
  5. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Sep 13, 2007 -> 12:08 PM) Holy s***. Uh yeah. I would be power dialing him to see if we could get him on board somehow
  6. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Sep 13, 2007 -> 12:04 PM) Well, there's a reason that Rivera couldn't get a HC job anywhere and had to take the LB coach job. He couldnt even get a coordinators job. And from what babich has shown, he appears better at calling a defense than Ron was.
  7. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Sep 13, 2007 -> 10:28 AM) I don't know much about the situation but I read or saw that it's "a stretch" to say he'll be able to walk out of the hospital and that, in fact, walking "someday" was a "more reasonable" goal. Wish him the best, of course. Hope I heard wrong. Definitely a stretch. The progress is going to be slower than they thought as the swelling hasnt entirely gone down yet, which is a huge part of seeing what will happen with the spinal cord.
  8. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Sep 12, 2007 -> 09:38 PM) Oh, and if I recall correctly, we shouldn't be jumping the gun on Everett. He likely won't be walking out of the hospital. They called that a stretch on the news, if I recall correctly. He can move and kick his legs, but cant move his hands.
  9. I hope anyone who despises Ozzie watched this series with the cubs vs the Astros. You can see what we could have as a manager, and then we would all kill ourselves.
  10. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Sep 12, 2007 -> 08:01 PM) Music is interpreted so many different ways by so many different people. Rock isnt wrong for thinking Kanye's album isnt as good as 50 cent's album, he just has different taste. It isnt fair for people to be telling him he is wrong for thinking that way, it is all in the interpretation and appreciation of the music presented. On that note, all 80's Glam-rock sucks Would it matter if I said my favorite band is Heart?
  11. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 12, 2007 -> 04:54 PM) At least according to the guy I did my first responder training with...a lot of those disinfectants, like Hydrogen Peroxide or rubbing alcohol, tend to be much more than you actually need on most wounds. Those actually tend to kill some of the cells that would like to be regenerating themselves. In general, soap and water is more than sufficient for preventing infection. Johnson and Johnson actually make an ouchless liquid that is easy on said cells. With that said, im nervous for the readers of Pratt's paper.
  12. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Sep 12, 2007 -> 04:46 PM) I didn't realize selling millions of records equated to quality music. I guess I should go purchase the Brittany Spears boxed set. Ok, you are right the record sucks and is bad.
  13. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Sep 12, 2007 -> 04:42 PM) And the Curtis review from the same website. http://www.stylusmagazine.com/reviews/50-cent/curtis.htm Its not as radio friendly, nor does it have the huge mainstream hit "Stronger." But I think its still good. Im sorry that people disagree with me. Some people on here probably say that kanye's albums have ALL been better than 50's. Of course there are 15 million people who disagree with that. I could be biased as well. I also think G Units record was one of the best I own. FWIW I also love Talib, mos Def, Em, Sugar Hill, among others, so im not strickly a one artist.
  14. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Sep 12, 2007 -> 04:40 PM) Did you just seriously equate 50 Cent to Pink Floyd? Cause there's a hell of a lot more innovation that went even into the most boring of Pink Floyd's work (read: The Division Bell) than ever went in 50 Cent's hip-pop. Pink Floyd created to make music. 50 created to make money. Although both efforts might be fun to listen to, there is a huge difference between what each person did on a basic motivational level. No, I was comparing samples vs whole tracks. Nice effort to try and discredit my post
  15. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 12, 2007 -> 04:25 PM) Here's the other side question; what do you do if they demand Garland instead of Jose? Tell them I want hardy or Weeks. Weeks has a .447 OBP post all star
  16. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Sep 12, 2007 -> 04:29 PM) As alluded to earlier in the thread, Kanye's got a pretty solid lead going. I will be shocked if 50 lives up to his word, if this remains the case. http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/K/KAN...N=ENTERTAINMENT He wont. He has an album due out about this time next year called Before I Self Destruct
  17. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 12, 2007 -> 04:27 PM) I listened to the samples of 50's new CD on amazon.com, and with the exception of one song, it sounds like crap. You should check out some samples of some early Pink Floyd and see if that gives a good representation of the actual track
  18. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Sep 12, 2007 -> 03:43 PM) Now this is laughable. Sorry man, but if you think 50 is the better rapper, then you don't know Hip-Hop music. And I'm not even gonna bother commenting on the beats. Really now? Thats pretty funny. Kanye made most of his traction as a producer, because frankly, his flow isnt as good as other rappers. On top of that, 50's first album sold 3 times as much as Kanye's His second album, more than 3 times that of Kanye. Kanye is a good artist for people who shy away from the brashness of an artist like 50 cent, and is brilliant in his own way. But you will be very hard pressed to find people that are ACTUALLY immersed in the hip hop world to say that Kanye is the better rapper. He is def the better producer, but that tracks are better when someone like Jay-Z does the track.
  19. I'd want weeks the most from the Brew crew, and JJ (never gonna get him) Hardy
  20. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 12, 2007 -> 11:07 AM) No, he's not. No matter how terrible people seem to think the front office is, they're not going to take a late 1st/early second round talent with the #1 overall pick anyone who thinks otherwise is just pathetically pessimistic. I have a feeling they will sign the top guy, and they better. We need the talent.
  21. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 12, 2007 -> 03:14 PM) As opposed to a loudmouth who is afraid to show up and face the people he backstabs? What a two face. Here is the article. Cover your eyes if you are sensitive.
  22. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Sep 12, 2007 -> 04:07 PM) On the contrary, Pierre stays healthy. Podsednik is made of glass and damaged ligaments/muscle/tissues. Of course, I want neither, but I'd count on Pierre to be productive over Scott Podsednik, who can't even run anymore. Big time. Even though Pierre is not as good, a whole season beats that of a 1/3 that you get from PODS. Either way Dodgers fans are calling for furcal to be traded and pierre to bat lead off. They are concerned about a team picking up Furcal's contract. I would have no problem with it
  23. QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ Sep 12, 2007 -> 01:13 PM) Two thousand and f***ing twelve??? Wow. I can see the Mariotti articles now... Its already out there. And its especially brutal. He has gone over the top on this one
