  1. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 31, 2007 -> 12:55 PM) Eckstein: .679 OPS Uribe: .629 OPS Thats not significant, especially when you're considering the fact that Uribe is having (basically) the worst year of his career, is 5 years younger than Eckstein, offers excellent defense, and is likely cheaper. I hope that comparison wasnt serious. Compare their OBP and batting avg as Eck is a lead off hitter and uribe only adds to his ops by hitting the ocassional homerun. He is an offensive upgrade over Uribe, there is no way around that.
  2. Wow, that is a last place move. I think hes full of s***
  3. Hes such a retard. When the Sox win its luck, when they lose its Ozzie's fault
  4. Gio better get a looooonnnnngggg look next spring training

    Lockdown

I dont understand kids these days, if this was another "kids who are picked on" case, im going to be sick. What happened to the days of lighting poo on fire and egging peoples houses?
  6. QUOTE(thedoctor @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 12:45 PM) i do wonder if they will even play together, though. i know that he is regarded as a high nba draft pick in some circles. a lot of that obviously depends on the season and how he plays because it's not an oden scenario where he's going to be the top pick whether or not he plays well. also, fwiw, the brandon paul illinois just offered is a basketball guard from gurnee. Personally I think they will play together at least one season. We shall see though. Either way Thad will just keep reloading and reloading, and reloading
  7. I completely agree with balta here. You have to go with the best postional player, and it looks like the 3B. We also need a player who has patience at the plate and OBP
  8. Alvarez looks like the type of player we need to sign. Walks alot, hits for avg, power numbers, team leader. Yeah im sold. although I wouldn't mind us taking a pitcher that would be ready to contribute right away.
  9. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 10:15 AM) Yeah, because when I think of a team that firey, that has balls, that tries hard to win every game and plays sound baseball...the first one to come to mind is baltimore. Do I need the green? I didnt say acquire the baltimore orioles, I said tejada. Maybe you need to re-read what I posted. He is a notoriously high energy guy and is very competitive.
  10. QUOTE(thedoctor @ Aug 29, 2007 -> 12:41 PM) yeah, he has really improved quite a bit. i saw him as a freshman (he'd already committed at that point) and was not all that impressive. but last year he was like a totally different player. he's added something each offseason which is impressive. i think he'll end up being a better player than koufos. I believe he will be better as well. Also those two are going to be matchup nightmares when they are playing together. 2 7 footers, one under the basket, one beyond the arc.

    Cool Website

Dont forget about the people who snort things with those dollars or put the dollar bills in their mouth for certain reasons. You are literally eating s***.
  12. Honestly, someone like Tejada would be a perfect fit for the firey energy that everyone is asking for.
  13. I wouldnt use the free stuff. I use DVD Cloner and its worth the 20 bucks I paid for it
  14. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 08:51 AM) Does anyone seriously think Richar, Owens or Gonzalez are everyday players? Or has he reached Willie Harris status yet with the organization? yes, I believe Richar is an everyday 2B and leadoff or #2 hitter. owens could be a #9 hitter, Gonzo is a bench player.
  15. We are going to get such a sick draft pick next year. This is exactly what we need.
  16. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 29, 2007 -> 03:36 PM) I should add I think Briggs could have been racing and lost control of his car because he has no idea how to drive a 600+ horsepower car (hell its a possibility). There are not many people around that know how to drive a car that powerful. Even experienced drivers will have a hell of a time driving that car.
  17. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Aug 29, 2007 -> 02:17 PM) I guess I need to go back and watch 40 YOV again, because I just don't remember thinking it was very good. I think my hatred for Catherine Keener is mostly to blame. She's so unlikeable/unwatchable. Katherine Heigl on the otherhand....raaaaaaaaaaaaooow Knocked up gets funnier every time you watch it. I have been watching it on that bootleg site listed in this thread. Paul Rudd and Seth Rogan have ridiculous chemistry in that movie, even more so than in 40YOV. Those staple characters lacked abit in superbad IMO. Also I feel that every movie Apatow does NEEDS to include Jason Segel. I honestly believe he is one of the funniest people out there in entertainment, and absolutely carried Undeclared. And this project starring him, Paul Rudd and jonah hill will prob be hilarious http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0800039/ And in case anyone is the curious type, like myself, judd Apatow is in production with several movies at this time. Here is a good link to the ones in production, some of them look like instant classics. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0031976/
  18. Jesus. When did reading a message board become so time consuming. There are 3 novels in this thread alone.
  19. it was nice to see the girl from undeclared making an appearance in a movie.
  20. Anyone who has seen it: Safe to say the best scenes are when Seth Rogan was in it
  21. QUOTE(rangercal @ Aug 29, 2007 -> 10:36 AM) he has Jerry Angelo success-o-meter: 27-37 (2002-2005 cumulative records) I think he has to update that one. So the question being: Who is more responsible for the Bears success, Jerry or Lovie
  22. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 29, 2007 -> 10:50 AM) And just as important, Furcal is a better defender than Young (or Renteria for that matter). As bad as Uribe is at the plate, he is still a very good defensive SS, and if they went with someone like Young, the Sox pitching staff would suffer. For sure, thats a really valid point. His stolen bases have really taken a hit this year, I hope thats not age catching up with him.
  23. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 29, 2007 -> 10:35 AM) Considering the White Sox don't have 10 divisional titles in their history and have 3 WS wins, it wouldn't be a good trade. Even easier, I will trade a handful of division titles for the WS ring. So its an even better deal.
