Its fine to talk about the recruiting classes and point to that as why ND sucks so bad. But the team lacks fundamentals completely. I do not think Weis has figured out that college kids need to be treated differently than NFL players. -
Thats a last place team right there. Weakened our rotation, took out our most consistent offensive threat, and really didnt improve the pen enough.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Sep 13, 2007 -> 07:02 PM) Did you guys see the Ashley Tisdale pic? Those are some huge nips Prob cause shes so young. I bet they calm down a bit. Still appreciated though.

QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Sep 17, 2007 -> 11:16 AM) Grossman's main strength over Orton and Griese is his ability to go down the field with the ball. They haven't really done that at all yet, and if they don't plan on doing it, Orton is the better choice IMO. Orton sucks. He is a career backup maybe.

Jerry Owens is quietly putting together an awesome SEPT

The best part about the HR was watching his wife's reaction. -

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 16, 2007 -> 12:57 AM) I didn't hear you b****ing about Willingham's classes when Weis rode them to BCS Bowls the last couple of years. Face it, ND sucks and until they find a QB and some offensive linemen, combined with the fact it will take them awhile to transfer to the 3-4 defense and that schedule, ND is in line to be bad for a few years now. If Weis didn't have the NFL pedigree or white skin, he'd be suffering the same fate as Willingham unfairly did. Oh, and yes Pat Fitzgerald is an awful, awful coach. Worst in game coach I have ever seen in college football. Thats what I dont get. Willingham got 3 years, whose class it was, was totally irrelevant. You have an offensive "genius" who cant run the ball or score an offensive touchdown. There are plenty of programs that go through turnover, I wonder why the dont struggle quite as bad? -

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Sep 15, 2007 -> 06:42 PM) Michigan gets on the winning side with a 38-0 beat down of Notre Dame. Notre Dame is terrible this year. Why isnt Weis going to be fired? This is his 3rd year. The same amount of years Willingham was given. Weis has shown that he has actually made this team worse. Plenty of teams lose their starting QB's. OSU lost 8 first team big ten players and is still good. Its time for the fire Weis talk to start IMO. -
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Sep 14, 2007 -> 04:53 PM) Even Jurassic 5? Best concert ive ever seen BTW.

QUOTE(SEALgep @ Sep 14, 2007 -> 06:16 PM) I think they can afford it without trading PK. Yes, but PK could bring back value at a low salary, while saving us room for AROD or another FA.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Sep 14, 2007 -> 04:08 PM) The White Sox won't blow anyone out of the water for Alex Rodriguez and he probably won't be coming here. That's about the long and short of it. We could afford him....If we traded Countreras and Konerko. What if we unload Konerko for either a CF'er or a SS? Maybe even some prospects, he has alot of value. Would the team improve with AROD+a young SS or CF'er? I think it might.
-
I would say the whole middle of the field with the exception of Catcher should be addressed. CF, SS, 2B, Lead off hitter, more contact, bullpen. One of the positions, ss and cf have to solve the leadoff problem as well.
-
Juan should be gone. With the swing as miss types we already have, we need some contact-type hitters, and he is simply not a fit for this org.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 13, 2007 -> 05:13 PM) Bill Simmons chimes in cue the "I said they should have taken Durant" banter.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 13, 2007 -> 04:40 PM) An interesting, and pessimistic response to the injury via SI Comparing a broken down Chris Webber to a 19 year old as far as injury recovery goes is pretty stupid.

Blago is just not that great. Even down in springfield the opinions on him arent very positive.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 13, 2007 -> 02:35 PM) Yeah, if they end up with a pick that leads to Derrick Rose, Michael Beasley, Eric Gordon, Chase Budinger, etc....they won't be crying, especially if Oden is back healthy that following year. As for the microfracture, that is the injury Amare Stoudemire had. He had the surgery in October, tried to come back a little over 5 months later in March, and after 2 games still had stiffness and missed the rest of the year because of (admittedly) rushing back too fast. And also, as good as Amare was last year, his raw athletic ability obviously wasn't as good, although that did help him IMO develop his all around game further. Which is probably why they are going to take the careful route with Greg. It was interesting that most likely they will have his leg set up with a passive movement machine in his sleep that will bend the knee automatically to regenerate cartilage while he is sleeping.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 13, 2007 -> 02:26 PM) If the recovery time is said to be 4 months, why is the team saying the recovery time is 6-12 months? Here's some details on the procedure... He's in a brace for 8 weeks, and is not allowed to even begin running/jumping for 4 to 6 months. The website I read said recovery time is 4 months. Thats why I posted that. Heres an article about Kellen Winslow's procedure. http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/story/10015196/rss He had it in jan and was back on the field in June. Walgreens.com http://www.walgreens.com/library/contents....mp;docid=007255 athletes can be back in 4 months. Im sure they want him to take his time considering the millions of dollars invested.

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Sep 13, 2007 -> 02:24 PM) I think Oden will comeback strong... but this puts a huge dagger in Portland's upcoming season. or they could get another lottery pick, and really get good.

QUOTE(SABR Sox @ Sep 13, 2007 -> 09:19 AM) Last time I checked the Sox brought Scott Podsednik back last winter. If Williams is capable of making a move like that, there's a chance Uribe is brought back too. POTY material right there

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 13, 2007 -> 02:19 PM) That doesn't make this a small knee surgery though, just means he should be set to roll in 2008-2009. Well since its relatively non-invasive, is quick, and is said to have a full recovery time of 4 months, makes me believe its a small surgery. Its a case to case basis, but in the terms of knee surgeries for athletes, its a much shorter recovery time.
-
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 13, 2007 -> 02:14 PM) Never heard of a small knee injury that knocks you out for an entire 82 game, 6 month season. But a multi month wrist injury and a multi month knee injury in back to back years is indeed no sign of being injury prone. The reason it will take awhile to get back completely is that you need to give it time to heal up and generate the healthy cartilage. He may have an arthritic knee in the future because of the cartilage problems, but he should have a quick (due to age) and full recovery.
-
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 13, 2007 -> 02:11 PM) While he may be back easily, this is not a small knee surgery. Sure it is, even the doctor says the recovery is easy. This is not an ACL surgery, its a cartilage repair. No ligament damage. I think its funny that "health" issues are mentioned and his tonsils are used as an example.

QUOTE(bmags @ Sep 13, 2007 -> 01:39 AM) fifty hasn't made an album since his debut. The G Unit album a couple years back was actually quite good.
